Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Obito's Arrangements
"Seriously…?"
Hearing that Obito wanted to meet with him alone again, Orochimaru felt his knees go weak.
Dealing with all three brothers together was already a nightmare—how was anyone supposed to handle this?
Obito, noticing Orochimaru's hesitation, let a dangerous glint flash through his eyes.
"Orochimaru, didn't you hear me? Get out here now!"
With a bitter smile, Orochimaru forced himself to follow Obito out of the meeting room.
"Yes, Obito-sama."
Once they reached a secluded spot, Obito didn't say a word, he just started laughing.
The eerie sound sent shivers down Orochimaru's spine.
Obito laughing? That never meant anything good.
"Obito-sama," Orochimaru began nervously, his expression practically begging, "What exactly do you need from me?"
Obito tilted his head, feigning surprise.
"Oh? How did you know I had something for you to do?"
Orochimaru: I—are you serious right now?!
Seeing Orochimaru lower his gaze in submission, Obito burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! Relax, I'm just messing with you. But yes, I do have a task for you."
"I need you to prepare some summoning scrolls for Edo Tensei."
"Listen carefully—you're only responsible for the scrolls. Don't overcomplicate things, understood?"
Orochimaru exhaled in relief and nodded repeatedly.
"Understood, Obito-sama. May I ask… who do you plan to revive?"
Obito was ready to rattle off a long list of names but paused, remembering his brothers' recent advice. He swallowed his enthusiasm.
"For now, focus on preparing scrolls for Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama, the First and Second Hokage."
"Oh, and add two more: Uchiha Izuna and Uchiha Tajima. You know them, right?"
"Uchiha Izuna was Madara's younger brother, and Uchiha Tajima… Madara's dear old dad!"
Reviving the Senju brothers was self-explanatory—they were immensely powerful and could serve as Obito's ultimate trump cards.
As for Izuna? That was purely to mess with Madara's emotions.
And Tajima? Well, Obito just thought it'd be hilarious for Madara to see his dad again.
Orochimaru's face darkened as he heard the names.
"Obito-sama, your request is… challenging, to say the least. The Hokage brothers' remains are feasible, but two Uchiha from the Warring States period…"
Obito cut him off with a sharp glare.
"If it were easy, why would I need you? I'm giving you a year—figure it out. At the very least, dig up Uchiha Izuna for me!"
"And remember, if you succeed, there'll be plenty of rewards for you."
Orochimaru eyed him skeptically.
That look clearly said: You're kidding me, right?
After all this time working for Obito, he'd only lost things—time, effort, pride, and his own village! Rewards? Nonexistent.
Obito scratched his head awkwardly.
"Hey, don't look at me like that! It's not like I'm freeloading off you…"
"Alright, fine. Here's some intel that might be useful to you. Consider it a down payment."
Orochimaru perked up, his interest piqued.
"…What intel?"
Obito shared a few cryptic sentences.
"Well? Intriguing, isn't it?"
Orochimaru nodded eagerly, his eyes gleaming.
"And the rest…?"
Obito smirked.
"You'll get the rest once you've completed the task."
Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Orochimaru swallowed the urge to throttle Obito.
"I understand, Obito-sama."
Calm down, calm down, he told himself. This is progress—Obito is finally showing some decency. Still… I'm so unbelievably pissed off right now!
Obito, satisfied with Orochimaru's reaction, patted his shoulder.
"Good. Dig through the archives or whatever—it's bound to be there somewhere!"
Orochimaru forced a smile. Sure, easy for you to say while you do nothing!
Their "friendly" discussion concluded, Obito headed back to the meeting room while Orochimaru begrudgingly went to work.
Forget the meeting—I've got bigger things to deal with. The sooner I finish this task, the sooner I get that intel!
...
In the meeting room, the discussions were wrapping up. Seeing Obito return, Hidan hefted his scythe and headed out with Kakuzu.
"We'll be off. Gotta make this month's offerings to Jashin-sama."
Obito gave a small nod, watching them leave. Then he turned to the other three.
"Deidara, Sasori, you two can go as well."
"Kisame, stay. I have a special assignment for you."
Deidara frowned, ready to argue, but Sasori had already left.
"Sasori, wait for me! Hey, Kisame, see ya! I'll miss you—hmm!"
And with that, Deidara bolted.
Now, only Obito and Kisame remained.
Kisame grinned, his sharp teeth glinting.
"So, Obito-san, what do you need from me?"
Obito slung an arm around Kisame's shoulder, grinning widely.
"I've got a junior who idolizes you. He wants to tag along with you—mind taking him under your wing?"
Kisame chuckled.
"If it's your order, I have no complaints. Besides, I do enjoy mentoring the young ones."
"Great!" Obito laughed. "You're the only one I trust with this, Kisame."
Obito activated Kamui, summoning Nagano.
"This is your idol, Kisame—a man who never hesitates when it comes to slicing down his enemies!"
Nagano's eyes lit up upon seeing Kisame.
This guy looks even tougher than Guy-sensei!
"Big bro! Please accept my bow!"
Nagano knelt and knocked his head on the floor three times. Kisame tried to stop him but failed.
Obito facepalmed.
"Kisame, this is Nagano. He might seem dim-witted, but… well, he kind of is."
Nagano blinked, realizing Obito had insulted him.
"You—Obito, you're awful!" he huffed, holding back more colorful language.
Obito shuddered theatrically.
"Gross! Stop being weird, Nagano!"
Kisame, amused, nodded.
"Don't worry, Obito-san. I'll take good care of him."
Nagano bowed deeply.
"Thank you, Obito. I owe you one."
Obito waved him off.
"Yeah, yeah. Don't get sealed along the way, alright? Ask Kisame for help if needed. And hey, maybe lend him some chakra—he's got Samehada, after all!"
Nagano chuckled.
"Got it. See you later!"
As the two left, Obito leaned back, content.
Finally, things are falling into place.
