Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Madara: Are You Kidding Me?
At Kakashi's House
After dinner, the three of them tidied up.
Sakumo headed to the kitchen to do the dishes, while Obito and Kakashi sat together, discussing an important life event: Kakashi's wedding.
Obito, looking unusually serious, asked,
"So, how many pairs of groomsmen and bridesmaids are you planning to have at the wedding?"
Kakashi thought for a moment before replying,
"Two pairs should be enough. I was thinking of asking Asuma and Kurenai."
Obito nodded in agreement.
"That works. But what about Guy? Aren't you going to have him as a groomsman?"
Kakashi sighed, exasperated.
"Guy as a groomsman… Who's going to agree to be his bridesmaid?"
Obito considered this for a moment and realized Kakashi had a point. But soon, a new idea struck him.
"Why not let Guy host the wedding? He can contribute in his own way. With all that energy, he'd be perfect for hyping up the atmosphere!"
Kakashi's eyes lit up.
"That's actually a great idea! Let's go with that, then…"
The two continued to discuss the plans. After a while, Obito glanced at the time and stood up with a smile.
"It's getting late. I'll head back now. Once Rin has her day off, I'll bring her over, and the three of us can finalize the details."
Kakashi patted Obito on the shoulder.
"Thanks for this, Obito."
Obito grinned and playfully punched Kakashi's arm.
"What's with the formalities? You better hurry up and get married. Just a reminder, though: cut down on the reading! You'll have plenty of exhausting days ahead—don't wear yourself out."
Kakashi rolled his eyes.
"Just leave already. I'm not seeing you out!"
Obito laughed heartily.
"Got it! I'm off!"
...
At Rin's House
Rin's surprised voice rang out.
"Obito-kun!"
Obito spread his arms wide, catching the girl as she leaped into his embrace.
"Hehe, missed me, Rin-chan?"
Rin nuzzled against his chest, pouting.
"Hmph, what's the point of missing you when you take forever to come back?"
Obito chuckled, the corners of his mouth curling up.
"Who said anything about leaving soon? I'm planning to stay in Konoha for a long time this time."
Rin blinked her large eyes, a hint of doubt in her voice.
"Really?"
Feigning hurt, Obito replied,
"Of course! When have I ever lied to you, Rin-chan?"
Rin rolled her eyes dramatically, her pout turning playful.
"Oh, only every single time! You're always saying 'soon, soon,' but it's always hours later!"
Obito scratched his head awkwardly.
"Well, uh…"
Rin giggled and hugged him tightly.
"I'm just teasing you. Let's chat for a bit and then get to bed early. I've got work tomorrow."
Obito nodded earnestly.
"Sure thing! Let me take a quick shower first."
Twenty minutes later, a freshly cleaned Obito emerged from the bathroom. Leaning close to Rin's ear, he whispered mischievously,
"Puru puru~ Puru puru~ What do you say, Rin-chan?"
Rin poked his cheek with an exasperated look.
"Don't tell me you made me learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu just for this?"
Seeing Obito's hopeful expression, Rin sighed and raised her hands in surrender.
"I can't say no to you, can I? … Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
...
A Month Later
Obito hummed cheerfully as he carried a box of novels, planning to visit an old friend.
"I truly am the epitome of the new generation's model youth," he praised himself, conveniently forgetting his past skirmishes with a centenarian.
Activating Kamui, Obito appeared at Uchiha Madara's base.
"Grandpa Madara! I'm here to bring you warmth and joy—aha! And novels!"
Madara turned around with his hands behind his back, his expression calm as he greeted him.
"Oh, Obito, you're here."
After a brief silence, the two locked eyes—and then burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Hahahahahaha!"
From the shadows, Black Zetsu quietly sank into the ground, unwilling to endure their chaotic energy any longer.
Ten Minutes Later
The laughter subsided, and Madara took the box of novels from Obito, skimming the titles with satisfaction.
"Good. These are all my favorites."
Setting the box aside, Madara glanced at Obito.
"Leave the books here for now. Take me outside—I want to see the world today."
Obito grinned sheepishly.
"Sure. Anywhere in particular? My Kamui can take us there in an instant."
Madara, ever cautious, shook his head.
"No need. The journey itself is part of the experience."
Obito sighed inwardly.
So the old man's still suspicious…
Still, he maintained his carefree smile.
"Alright. Got anywhere specific in mind? How about… a hot spring?"
Madara coughed in mild annoyance.
"A hot spring? At my age? Ridiculous."
Obito scratched his head, thinking hard before his face lit up.
"I know just the place for you!"
Madara raised an intrigued eyebrow.
"Oh? This should be interesting."
...
The Next Day
Proudly, Obito led Madara to the bustling entrance of a building in the capital. Madara glanced between his grinning descendant and the establishment before him, his expression unreadable.
"Obito… This is the place you thought would suit me?"
Above the entrance, large, bold letters spelled out:
Magic River Dance Hall
Inside, the booming music and enthusiastic cheers echoed loudly.
Madara's face darkened.
"I refuse to step foot inside such a place!"
Half an Hour Later
Within the dance hall, cheers erupted.
"Wow, that man in the center is incredible! I've never seen such elegant moves!"
"And his long hair! He's so handsome and refined!"
"Did you see his backbend earlier? That was insane!"
"Should we go talk to him? His moves… That waist… Too tempting!"
