Chapter 144: Want to Learn? I’ll Teach You!
"You're right, sir." King said after a brief pause.
"My name is Namikaze Naruto, Ambassador of the Shinobi Empire to Thunder Province. What are your names?" Imperial Naruto asked gently.
"My name's King, one of the All-Stars of the Beasts Pirates." King replied.
"Worororo… I'm Kaido, Captain of the Beasts Pirates and one of the Yonko of the New World. This trip's been eye-opening, Naruto. To think there's a fighter as strong as you in this world—truly unexpected! Cough cough cough…"
Kaido laughed, but his wounds triggered a heavy cough.
"Kaido, you're already incredibly strong. If our worlds hadn't met before, I wouldn't have defeated you so easily." Imperial Naruto said with a laugh. A golden light radiated from his right hand, transforming into a warm stream that flowed into Kaido's body.
Kaido's body healed at a visible rate—his broken bones nearly mended in minutes.
Kaido stood, twisting his head, and said in disbelief, "What's this ability? Healing me instantly… Even the best doctors in our world can't do this. It's miraculous."
King stared intently at Imperial Naruto.
"This is a unique power of our world—healing ninjutsu. You could call it an application of Yang Release. So, want to learn? I'll teach you." Imperial Naruto offered.
"Teach us? Really? Seems you've already learned Haki from Roger…" Kaido asked, surprised.
"Of course, no problem, Kaido, King." Imperial Naruto grinned broadly, giving them a thumbs-up.
Their expressions remained skeptical.
In the One Piece world, they were used to schemes, betrayal, oppression, and cruelty.
This made it hard to believe in free lunches.
"Don't look at me so suspiciously. You know, our power gap is vast. If I wanted to deal with you, wouldn't it be easy? So I've no reason to deceive you." Imperial Naruto added.
Their expressions softened, slightly convinced.
"But there's a reason we're helping you." Imperial Naruto continued.
This eased their expressions further.
As expected!
"Tell us. What's it for? As long as we can trade for it, we'll agree." Kaido said.
"Hahaha… Actually, helping weaker worlds, learning from each other, and growing together has always been the Empire's goal. And all we do is to guard against the Otsutsuki!"
Imperial Naruto laughed heartily, his expression turning serious at the end.
"Learn and grow together? What are the Otsutsuki? To make someone as strong as you wary?" Kaido wondered.
"They're a terrifying race. The weakest among them is as strong as you." Imperial Naruto said.
Kaido's body trembled.
King's eyelids twitched violently.
What? The weakest is as strong as Kaido?
This is Kaido! A Yonko of the New World! The strongest creature on land, sea, and air! One of the world's mightiest.
Even the Lunarian tribe, once called gods with exceptional talent, rarely produced such fighters.
And the Otsutsuki Clan's weakest are that strong?
Just call them gods already!
You're the god race, right?
"Shocking, isn't it? I felt the same when I first heard this." Imperial Naruto added.
"Indeed shocking. If the weakest is on my level, how terrifying are the strong ones? Even calling them a god race doesn't seem wrong, does it?" Kaido asked curiously.
"In a sense, they could be called a god race. The Otsutsuki are a race in our universe, able to traverse dimensions and even space-time. Their goal is to plunder planets and civilizations, planting something called the God Tree."
"The God Tree consumes a planet's nutrients to produce a fruit. Otsutsuki who eat it undergo drastic power boosts. Some of their strongest wouldn't lose to me—or are even stronger!" Imperial Naruto explained.
In his mind, he couldn't help but think of Otsutsuki Shibai.
The god of the Otsutsuki, in a higher dimension… what's he doing now?
Is he controlling his clan, preparing to attack the Empire?
Kaido and King, hearing this, trembled again.
"Consuming planets… fighters as strong as Naruto… or stronger…" Kaido muttered, breathing heavily.
"So you're helping us to grow stronger and fight the Otsutsuki together?" King seemed to understand.
"Exactly, fight the Otsutsuki together! We know well that the power of a few worlds or planets can't match such terrifying enemies, so we need more allies." Imperial Naruto said frankly.
Kaido and King exchanged glances, seeing trust in each other's eyes.
They couldn't help but believe.
After all, Imperial Naruto had shown overwhelming power, capable of killing them instantly. They couldn't think of any reason he'd deceive "weaker" beings like them.
"I see. Though I'm a Yonko in our world, I don't control much—just an island nation. In our world, the World Government, led by the Celestial Dragons, truly rules." Kaido said, his eyes flickering.
"We know. The Empire learned this from previous honored guests. But the actions of the Celestial Dragons, World Government, and their Marines are, in His Majesty's eyes, utterly filthy. The Empire will never work with such people." Imperial Naruto said, his face showing disgust at the mention of the Celestial Dragons and World Government.
The One Piece world was far darker and filthier than the Naruto world.
Legal slave trade, oppression by elites, and those targeted by the Celestial Dragons lived in endless darkness, without a shred of hope!
Resistance was meaningless!
Kaido and King, hearing this, showed delighted expressions.
Kaido slightly gripped his club. "Then you must know what a Yonko is, right? Any prejudice against us?" His voice was cautious.
"I know a bit. The Yonko and Revolutionary Army oppose the Celestial Dragons and World Government. The Empire is willing to work with people like you." Imperial Naruto said.
Kaido and King grew even more thrilled.
"Worororo… Thank you for the Empire's trust! Please believe us! We'll be the best partners!" Kaido laughed, extending his right hand.
Imperial Naruto did the same, their wide palms quickly clasping.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
One hour later, Imperial Naruto brought Kaido and King through a Space-Time Jutsu, appearing in an empty, subway-like station room in the Empire's capital.
Surrounded by partitions, the three stepped out, noting the vastly changed environment.
Kaido said, slightly surprised, "We've crossed thousands of miles to reach the Empire's capital you mentioned?"
"Exactly. Space-Time Jutsu, an advanced ninjutsu application. Pretty practical, right?" Imperial Naruto smiled.
"Amazing technology. In our world, I've only heard of the Doa Doa no Mi Devil Fruit with similar abilities." Kaido praised.
They talked as they walked, soon arriving at a wider field.
There, a figure wielded a short blade, flashing like lightning.
Another figure split into dozens, even hundreds, of afterimages.
Clang clang clang echoed through the room.
The battle's aftermath—wind blades—should've torn the ground.
But the surrounding and ground metal absorbed it all.
Kaido narrowed his eyes, while King showed slight shock, marveling at this world's high-performance metal and the ongoing fight.
The fight was so fast, even he struggled to follow, unable to clearly see their movements!
More importantly, the two combatants looked very young!
If he wasn't mistaken, they were about eighteen!
At eighteen, they matched his level… truly prodigious talents. If this world had more such geniuses, its overall combat strength might be terrifying.
"These kids are strong. Naruto, can you let them join me in my pirate crew?" Kaido, thrilled by strong opponents, couldn't help but ask.
Before Imperial Naruto could answer, the two fighters stopped.
One was a white-haired man in tight clothing, holding a short blade, with an arrogant face. The other, black-haired with red eyes, had a gentle demeanor.
The arrogant man glared at Kaido haughtily. "Hey! You big guy, daring to want me to join your pirate crew as your subordinate? Do you know who I am?"
"Haruki… Don't talk like that. This uncle admires our strength, that's why he said that… Besides, I bet he doesn't know who we are…" the black-haired man said, pulling the arrogant man's right arm with resignation.
"Worororo… I don't know who you are. But my world's fascinating—delicious food, Devil Fruits that can make people strange, and sea monsters tens, hundreds, even thousands of meters tall!"
"Kid, wanna consider it?" Kaido laughed.
"Hah… food? Our Empire's food is surely tastier than yours! Strange fruits? They won't turn me ugly like you, right? I don't want that! Sea monsters? Kinda interesting. But if you want me to join you, it's not impossible—just beat me." Haruki grinned.
His right hand moved, spinning the white short blade, creating a sharp, cold glint.
"Beat you? No problem! But don't cry when I thrash you! Worororo…"
Kaido didn't hesitate, accepting confidently.
He'd seen the earlier fight—this kid was strong but only on King's level. Beating him wouldn't take much effort.
This young punk's too inexperienced. You're coming aboard my ship!
Kaido's grin grew slyer.
◆━⊰✧⊱━◆
Fifteen minutes later.
*CLANG!* *CLING!* *CLANG!* *CLING!*
Kaido stood, swinging his club repeatedly.
Several Hatake Harukis, flashing like lightning, darted around him, invisible to the naked eye:
"Hey, hey, hey! Uncle, didn't you say I'd be your subordinate? Didn't you say you'd beat me? Why can't you now?"
Multiple Harukis spoke simultaneously, their voices echoing.
"Damn brat! What's this ability, splitting into so many real bodies? I can't hit you accurately!" Kaido roared, frustrated.
Though his Observation Haki could lock onto enemies, it couldn't distinguish real from fake!
Even if he luckily hit one, the kid turned to smoke, leaving him helpless.
Instead, he was busy defending, taking several slashes. If not for his thick skin, an ordinary person would've died…
Kaido wasn't afraid of the slashes and was confident he could win.
But he'd need to exhaust the kid's stamina, which could take who knows how long.
Beating a kid like this wasn't a victory worth bragging about.
*BOOM!*
Another strike destroyed a shadow clone.
Kaido intended to stop the fight.
But the Harukis circling him suddenly changed tactics, leaping back simultaneously, hands seemingly grasping something in front of their mouths:
"Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"
*BOOM!*
Water surged from the ground, dozens of meter-long water dragons shot into the air, charging at Kaido.
"Right! This world's people can use water-related abilities! Kid, your move's unstoppable for normal ability users, but I'm not afraid! HOOO!"
Kaido roared, transforming from human to dragon, his body unleashing a terrifying heat wave. The water dragons evaporated completely before reaching him.
"Smelly uncle… you're pretty good, not even fazed by this." Haruki's slightly surprised voice came from all directions.
"Hah! Of course, I'm a Yonko! But this fight's pointless. Your abilities are too weird, and you keep hiding, not facing me directly—it's no fun!" Kaido shouted.
"Fighting's never just straightforward; it's ever-changing, Uncle. Let's call this a draw." Haruki said, stopping his flashing movements, his tone slightly mocking but his eyes serious.
