Naruto: Wood-Wood Fruit

Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Kiyoshi’s Trap

"Ishikawa Kiyoshi, this will be your grave!"

On the battlefield.

Danzo, who was supposed to have died, reappeared miraculously a few meters away. His gaze fixed coldly on the towering, massive tree, at least ten meters in diameter.

"Danzo, even if you're desperate to die, must you always choose such a way to go, aiming to drag your enemies with you…"

Danzo's eyes narrowed sharply.

Kiyoshi, who should have been engulfed by the giant tree, appeared eerily atop the lush branches.

With a smirk, Kiyoshi said, "It's useless. I am the embodiment of nature itself. Any plant will only serve as an extension of my own power!"

Before Danzo, who was shocked by the statement, could launch an attack, the massive tree surged violently. Its roots and branches shot out like bolts of lightning.

"Ahhh…"

Unprepared, Danzo was once again swallowed by the giant tree.

"Five left…"

Kiyoshi stepped out of the tree, looking toward Danzo, who had reappeared again with Izanagi, his face twisted in anger.

"So reckless with Wood Release… You shouldn't have enough chakra to keep going," Danzo muttered, his gaze locked onto Kiyoshi, who appeared completely unaffected by chakra depletion.

He knew well the power of Wood Release but also understood the high chakra cost it demanded.

"Why don't you take a guess at how long I can last?" Kiyoshi replied with a mischievous smile.

As the embodiment of nature, standing in this forest, he was invincible, constantly drawing energy from the surrounding trees to replenish himself.

Though he had a limit to his chakra, his recovery rate far exceeded his consumption, making him comparable to the Nine-Tails with its seemingly endless reserves.

"Damn it… I've used Izanagi multiple times and Wood Release. My chakra's taking a hit…" Danzo thought, weighing his options.

"Should I retreat now?"

A decisive glint flashed in his eyes as he threw a smoke bomb toward Kiyoshi, preparing to flee.

But at that moment, sharp vines pierced the air, slashing at Danzo from the front.

Caught off guard, he was pierced through the body, and as the smoke cleared, Kiyoshi stood before him again.

"Slash!"

Danzo reappeared a few meters away, not daring to look back as he sprinted frantically toward the distance.

"What?"

Suddenly, a chill ran through him. Without hesitation, he leaped high, just as countless wooden vines shot up from below, grasping at him.

He dodged wildly, evading the vines, but another figure quietly appeared behind him.

"Agh…"

A scream echoed as an exact replica of Kiyoshi appeared, his right arm transformed into terrifying vines that pierced through Danzo's chest.

"Four left…"

Danzo, upon his next revival, scowled darkly. "A Wood Clone, huh?"

But before he could flee, his right arm began to convulse violently.

"Argh…" Danzo groaned, his face twisted in agony.

The repeated use of Izanagi and Wood Release had disrupted the balance between Yin and Yang chakra in his right arm, triggering a backlash from the First Hokage's cells embedded within it.

"Damn it!"

Danzo gritted his teeth, and in desperation, severed his right arm with his left hand, stumbling away in a panic.

"I can't die here… My dream of unifying the shinobi world and ending this chaos isn't fulfilled yet."

Yet at that very moment—

A sharp pain struck his right eye, and he screamed, "Argh!"

A brutal agony tore through his severed arm, as a horrific scene unfolded before him, two bloody vines twisted before his eyes, one holding his severed arm, adorned with the embedded Sharingan, while the other held a bloodstained eyeball.

Kiyoshi stood calmly, hands in his pockets, smiling, "You went to such trouble, Danzo… bringing Shisui's eye all the way here just for me."

"How is this possible? Could it be…"

Danzo, drenched in cold sweat, looked around, seeing the destruction around him and the remains of the failed attempt at Tree Burial with which he had tried to take down Kiyoshi.

None of it was real. The area, the trees—they were exactly the same as when he first revived after failing with Kotoamatsukami.

His lone remaining eye, bloodshot, glared furiously at Kiyoshi. His face twisted in a fury like never before.

"Damn it… Is this Genjutsu?"

"Correct, but no prizes for guessing right!" Kiyoshi replied with a smirk.

Tsukuyomi.

Though it might seem less powerful than Kotoamatsukami, in reality, it was equally formidable but simply worked differently.

In the world of Tsukuyomi, time, space, and even physical properties were all controlled by the caster.

In the Tsukuyomi realm, he was the god, the creator of all.

Since Danzo had locked eyes with him after the failure of Kotoamatsukami, he had fallen into Kiyoshi's Genjutsu.

Danzo's desperate attempts to avoid losing his eye, including the use of Izanagi, were all illusions created in the Tsukuyomi world.

In that illusory realm, Danzo even witnessed his arm's cells rebelling, causing him to believe he had genuinely lost it and thus ceased maintaining Izanagi.

Though the Tsukuyomi battle felt endless, in reality, only a moment had passed in the real world. From the start, Danzo had been frozen in place.

"What's happening?"

Far away, Tsunade watched the battlefield with shock.

She saw Danzo entangled by Kiyoshi's vines, losing his right eye and his entire right arm in brutal agony without any apparent use of Izanagi to escape the situation.

She gasped, inhaling sharply, "Could this be…Genjutsu?"

"So, this is the Tsukuyomi Kiyoshi mentioned… Even Danzo, couldn't break free."
