Neurolink System in the Modern World

Chapter 470 Hard Choice

'Wow, is this the Temporal Realm?' I thought to myself,

Unlike the dark void realm, this place was the total opposite.

Everything was filled with colors, shifting and dancing .It was as if I had glimpsed the inner workings of the universe itself, an experience both humbling and awe-inspiring.

In this boundless realm where direction was nonexistent, navigating it was an impossible task.

How does one find their way when time itself was fluid?

How does one journey back through its currents and choose a specific moment to revisit?

For 125 years, I wrestled with these questions. But, amidst the uncertainty, clarity eventually dawned on me.

It was not about finding a physical path or unraveling the secrets of time.

Instead, it was about understanding the essence of existence, tapping into the very fabric of reality.

Harnessing all my powers—Light, Space, Time, Reality, and Frequency, alongside the reserves of Mind Power from Yggdrasil—I delved deep into the inner workings of this place.

I was akin to a hacking program infiltrating the mainframe of "Reality" itself. Each facet of my being became a tool, probing and manipulating the very fabric of existence.

As I delved deeper, I felt my senses of self begin to fade, one by one. The world around me blurred into obscurity as I relentlessly pursued the origin of existence itself.

How many years slipped by in this timeless realm? The concept lost its meaning, irrelevant in the face of my singular focus.

"You've returned," a voice devoid of gender echoed within my mind, pulling me from the depths of my exploration .

Suddenly, I found myself enveloped in a a place filled with infinite white color.

As my gaze wandered, I was astonished to see a familiar sight—a Gate, identical to the one I had encountered before.

"I knew you would return one day, not expecting it to be this soon though," the voice echoed again, its tone carrying a hint excitement .

Turning, I saw the same child-like figure, its body radiating pure white against the backdrop of the same color.

Only the stark black outline tracing its contours distinguished it from the surrounding brilliance. With a simple genuine happy smile, its face revealed only a mouth and nothing more.

"Too soon? It's been hundreds of years, maybe a thousand," I chuckled, addressing it casually.

Having ascended to the level of the gods, its once-intimidating aura was now insufficient to affect me.

This time, I felt empowered, confident that I was now capable of conversing with it as an equal. .

"A thousand is like a second for me," the white being smiled widely. There was no arrogance in its voice, only a simple acknowledgment of truth.

"So, who are you really?" I inquired, curiosity driving me to seek a clearer understanding of its nature.

Despite my own speculations, hearing it from the entity itself would provide invaluable insight.

The white humanoid figure grinned, his smile stretching so wide it reach his ears. While the sight might unsettle some, I remained unaffected by it.

"I am the Gate Keeper" it answered, its tone now more serious, hinting at the gravity of its role.

"That's it ?"

"That's right. My job here is to guard this place. Well, I will disappear if you open that gate though," it clarified, reaffirming its role as the guardian.

"So what? You plan to stop me?"

"Of course not. You're free to open it if you want. I really don't care. But I'll give you some information before you decide," it responded

"What information?"

"Sit down first, we have all the time," the white figure chuckled, gesturing me to sit.

I humored it and created my own elegant seat, effortlessly manipulating reality to my will.

Summoning something so simple was now child's play, a testament to the power I now wielded over the fabric of existence.

"Go on, tell me that information,"

"Very well. If you open that gate, you would learn the way to time travel, but you will have to battle against Time itself. Destroying it would also mean erasing all timelines except for one—the one that you plan to go back to," it elaborated, presenting an even greater dilemma and the gravity of the sacrifices involved.

"So, my hypothesis was correct. Time traveling to the past is impossible without destroying other timelines," I sighed, acknowledging the truth of my theory.

"But it won't really be a problem, right? I mean, after I go back, that time would become the new origin point, and other branches would appear again moving forward," I replied, contemplating my own conclusion and the potential implications of altering the timeline.

"Normally, that would be the case, but you're not supposed to exist in the first place. So, what would happen is everything would be destroyed, even this place would be permanently erased. The reality you will come back to would be the one and only.," the Gate Keeper explained solemnly.

"By continuing this, you're destroying an infinite number of lives. They might not be relevant to you, but know that those lives would cease to exist. "

"Now, can you tell me, do you really want to open that gate and gain that knowledge?" the Gate Keeper posed very serious question.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I'll open it," I chuckled aloud, my decision final.

It wasn't as if I considered myself a hero or anything of the sort. Besides, having a single timeline would be much more convenient for me anyway. Fewer things to worry about.

As for the infinite number of lives vanishing?

Well, I doubt they would even know that they ceased to exist, so there's no need to feel guilty about it.

"Hahaha," the white being started laughing, its hand covering its forehead in a gesture of amusement.

"Why are you laughing? Did I say something funny?" I smirked back.

The white being paused, its grin widening as it fixed its attention on me.

"No," it shook its head" I'm just happy that you can finally end this Paradox," the white being's face turned serious.

Suddenly, its body began to grow taller, and in real time, it transformed into someone I had never expected.

"You gotta be kidding me,"
