Chapter 472 Way Back Home
"Before I leave, can I ask you some things?" I turned around, a question lingering in my mind.
"Sure, shoot away. I'm open to anything," he replied, lounging on his throne.
"What does life mean to you?" I inquired.
He didn't respond immediately. I could tell from the contemplative look in his eyes that he was pondering deeply.
What answer would such a being as him give?
"Life feels like a nightmare . It's like being stuck in a loop, repeating the same actions over and over again without ever finding a way out. In a way, life without an end is the very definition of hell." His words were tinged with sadness and exhaustion, revealing his true feelings.
After hearing his response, I closed my eyes, reflecting on his perspective.
I felt fortunate to have gained insight into his way of thinking. Without it, I might have followed the same path and eventually regretted it.
"Goodbye. I don't want to see you again. I hope you die," I chuckled before turning away.
"Me too," he replied with a wide child-like innocent grin.
Pushing the gate open, I was surprised by how much lighter it felt compared to my expectations. But as it swung wide, what greeted me was pure darkness.
At the same time, a familiar sensation washed over me.
This gate, much like the door I encountered earlier, represented the same barrier to surpassing my limits. It was merely a different form of manifestation.
That's why, no matter what I tried, I couldn't open it. For within it was the final step to achieving godhood.
As I stepped through the gate, I experienced a paradoxical sensation of everything and nothing simultaneously.
My mind was bombarded with an influx of information, like the entirety of reality's code being downloaded into my consciousness. This was the very same sensation that the creator of the system must have felt.
If I fully absorbed all of this, even if I traveled back in time, I would lose my humanity. It wasn't like when my Mind Computer exceeded its limits before. This was different. I would lose all sense of self.

[Do you wish to continue absorbing all this knowledge or only acquire the Secret to Time Traveling?]
'So he's giving me a choice? What a cruel guy,' I shook my head and smiled. He was asking me whether I wanted to become a god or not.
"I only want the Secret to Time Traveling," I answered.
[Initiating Sacrifice of System to Ensure Host Protection]
'That guy really thought of everything' I couldn't help but be amazed by how thoroughly he anticipated all of this.
To think that he even considered accounting for this moment.
I sensed a protective barrier safeguarding a part of me. I could still comprehend the mechanics of time travel, but all other knowledge was locked away.
[Task Complete: Deleting System]
When my vision returned, I found myself back in my makeshift pod.
But this time, I knew what to do.
I closed my eyes and teleported out of the pod. With the knowledge of time travel, my body was no longer at risk in the temporal realm. In fact, in this place, my power was infinite.
Next, I raised my arms and searched for my Original Timeline. It felt like watching a movie on fast forward trillions of times. Eventually, I sensed a connection. I knew deep down that this was my original timeline.
CRACK
CRACK
CRACK
Suddenly, the entire space around me began to shake violently.
From the colorful hue, it shattered like glass, revealing beings with six pairs of wings. Their eyes gleamed with a golden hue, appearing both organic and mechanical.
These were the true form of the time wraiths, or perhaps it would be more accurate to call them the Anti-Virus of reality.
Their duty was to safeguard the balance of everything. They had come here because they knew that once I succeeded, everything would be destroyed.
I counted the number of enemies and saw that they were around 100,000,000 of them and counting.
But I was not afraid at all.
Before, they were only able to attack me, and all I could do was depend. But this time, it was different.
Though they appeared infinite, each timeline had only one Time Wraith, so I simply needed to eliminate them all.
It was fortunate that the creator of my system prevented timelines from branching out, giving me this opportunity.
"Come,"
"Ethereal Abyss," I shouted, and with those words, a colossal humanoid figure emerged from swirling golden energies, and protected me.
Its body emanated an aura so condensed it resembled solid metal, towering over everything in its path. Nestled within its chest, a pulsating red gem emitted a crimson glow, marking its heart .
"Spear," I commanded, and a golden spear materialized in the hands of my Ethereal Abyss.
With a powerful swing, I unleashed a force so powerful that it intensified the trembling of the entire space.
As the spear sliced through the air, the fabric of reality ruptured, granting me a fleeting glimpse of multiple timelines being erased in an instant, alongside countless Time Wraiths.
The overwhelming power I wielded surpassed comprehension.
If the clash between Beros and Guk* shook the universe, my single strike erased multiple Universe in one fell swoop. If I were a fictional character, there would be little doubt that none could rival my power.
Seeing how I easily cut their numbers in half, the Time Wraiths began multiplying again.
The white beams emanating from their eyes pierced the air in an attempt to erase me.
However—
The laser beams didn't even dent my Ethereal Abyss. Read latest chapters at empire
The Time Wraiths intensified their attack, continuing to multiply nonstop. Their numbers grew to millions, then tens of millions, then billions. They seemed unstoppable, like a unstoppable tide trying to overwhelm me with their numbers.
"No matter how much you all multiply, I'll just keep destroying you until you start begging," I declared, laughter bubbling up as I summoned another spear.
PIERCE!
My next attack ruptured space again, destroying multiple universes.
This battle would be a long one, but for some reason, I felt liberated.
Authors Note:
Our main character is overpowered here, but that's because he has access to unlimited Energy in the temporal Realm. This isn't a permanent state.
Plus, those universes that were erased didn't even realize they were gone, so there's no need for MC to feel guilty.
Well, if you've read this far, you probably won't mind if our main character goes on to kill and torture everyone either way. XD
