Neurolink System in the Modern World

Chapter 513: Rules

"What's your plan now that you know where it is? Just a reminder, you can't just come and go in that place," Mirro explained.

"Why ?"

"That area has one of best defense mechanisms in the universe. Even someone who's ascended to godhood wouldn't escape if they don't know the blueprint, It was build by dozens of godlike figures" Mirro cautioned.

"That won't be an issue because I don't plan on going there," I chuckled aloud.

'Yet,' I added inwardly.

It didn't need to know my goal of studying the seal.

Besides, I didn't plan to go there right away. I still had a lot of business to attend to.

"That's wise , " Mirro replied.

"But I'm taking you with me. From now on, I own you," I declared, tightening my grip on it.

"What are you doing? Don't do anything or I will explode!" it warned, urgency lacing its voice.

"Trust me, I'm an expert," I said with a wide smile.

Focusing on its body, I detected a strange energy holding Mirro hostage. That's why he couldn't leave this place without some kind of apparatus or item.

I figured the apparatus was in Zelly's possession. I could just snatch it, but that would be too boring. I preferred to test myself.

With my power, all I needed to do was figure out the underlying principle of the energy, then devise ways to decode it.

Slowly but surely, I was able to access the source of this energy. It was also made of origin energy, but for some reason, it was completely different from mine.

If my energy was devoid of any properties, like clear water that could be colored anything, this origin energy was filled with brutality and killing intent.

Suddenly, I felt the strange energy fighting back, attempting to pull my consciousness inside it.

I watched with amusement as it struggled.

"I'll play with you," I chuckled, letting it pull me in.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a dark place, facing a giant figure.

It was so big that I was only 5% of the size of its eyes.

Looking closely, it was made from metallic materials, its form etched with complex patterns .

Its eyes emitted a vivid purple glow, exuding both ancient knowledge and formidable might.

But I knew for sure that this thing was just a fragment of someone consciousness, far from the real deal.

Even so, this single fragment was powerful enough to destroy Shao Mi's mind, demonstrating the immense power of the being's true body.

"Stop doing something unnecessary. You won't be able to hurt me with just that," I chuckled, observing its futile attempt to destroy my consciousness , which was by far the strongest part of my self.

"Who are you?" The consciousness spoke, its voice so loud that the whole space around me vibrated.

This place might not be real and was just a part of the being's consciousness, but it feels real for me.

"I'm the strongest being in the universe," I declared with confidence, a hint of sarcasm lacing my voice.

"Strongest ?" A grin appeared on the Giant's face.

"Many have claimed that title in front of my real body, and it killed too many to count," the Giant replied with a deep, rumbling voice.

"Believe me, listing my kills would take you an eternity. You don't have that kind of time," I teased it, savoring the banter with a fellow godlike being, just as arrogant as myself.

Unfortunately, this thing was not the real deal.

It was too weak that I could flick my finger and make it disappear.

But before doing that, I wanted to extract some information from it.

"How about a chat? I'm sure you're bored being in this place for so long." A smile crept onto my face as I hijacked this place.

With a snap of my fingers, the entire scene transformed. Its body appeared smaller, but that was far from the truth.

I enlarged myself and the surroundings, then change the background to the middle of the ocean.

A table floated on the water, inviting us to converse amidst the endless horizon.

"Neat, right?" I chuckled as I took a cup of coffee from the table.

"You're indeed powerful, but your personality is too laidback and arrogant," the Giant replied.

"I don't see anything wrong with that. Being strong means I can do whatever I want. There are no rules for someone like me; I am the rule itself," I replied with unwavering confidence.

The giant remained silent for a moment, and tried something amusing, but I quickly blocked its attempt.

"Don't waste your time. You plan to send a message to your real body, right? But how does that work exactly? Space is vast, so even if your message travels at the speed of light, it would take light years," I began conversing with it.

"I admit you're strong, perhaps as strong as my real body, but that assessment was based on my real body's strength countless millennium ago. "

"I advise you not to be arrogant. As you said yourself, space is vast. You might think you're rare in this remote corner of the universe, but beings like you are as common as clouds in the grand scheme of things," the Giant cautioned. "

"I'm as strong as your real body countless millennia ago?" I replied, my expression neutral .

"Don't assume that my real body was the same. That was a long time ago,"

"Oh, I'm not assuming at all," I paused, a grin spreading across my face, "I just think your real body is too weak after all."

With a surge of power, I unlocked 100% of my power, allowing the Giant to feel the true extent of my strength .

I might no longer have access to unlimited energy, but I never stopped grinding for more power behind the scene.

The moment it finally felt my true strength , it dawned on it that I was not somebody to be messed with .

"How is this possible? How can a being like you exist? This power is the same as the Architect!"

A smirk curled my lips as I leaned back, crossing my arms confidently.

"I told you, didn't I?....I'm the rule itself," I declared, exuding arrogance in every gesture.
