Chapter 514 Multiple Steps Ahead
As soon as I made my declaration, the Giant attempted to muster up all its strength to send a message using it's consciousness , but it was a lost cause.
With me taking control of this territory, not even a miracle could salvage its fate.
The situation boiled down to basic logic, like trying to race a bike against a rocket.
My power was the rocket, zooming ahead at sound breaking speed, while the Giant's strength was more like the pedaling speed of a bike. Find your adventure at My Virtual Library Empire
No matter how hard it tried, it was clear who would reach the finish line first.
"Don't waste your time," I spoke casually, leaning back in my chair as I observed its futile struggles. "You can't do anything without my permission."
The giant, realizing the futility of resisting me, fell silent for a while before finally speaking.
"How can an Architect exist alone? That's impossible..." Its voice trailed off, still clinging to the notion that I was one of those blue guys.
I couldn't really blame the it.
After all, the being who created me had basically used the Architects blueprint to form my existence.
In truth, I had already surpassed those race in terms of overall design.
The only reason this Giant assumed I was an Architects was because that was the strongest type of power it could imagine .
"And why can't I exist alone?" I inquired, not inclined to either deny or confirm its assumptions.
With no reply leaving its mouth, I felt compelled to assert myself a bit.
It might think that I'm the epitome of benevolence, which was true like 99.99% of the time.
But when that minuscule 0.01% decided to make an appearance, even the devil from those religious texts would cower in fear.
SNAP!
Snapping my fingers, our positions suddenly shifted, and now it found itself standing in the palm of my hand.
It was a complete UNO reverse; now, I was at least hundreds of times larger and more imposing .
"Wow, so this is how you used to look at me," I remarked with a grin.
"But let's get back on track," I warned, my voice stern. "Either you spill what you know, or I'll have to crack open your mind and extract the information myself."
It paused for a moment, seemingly contemplating its options.
As for me, I was clearly bluffing.
This entity had no physical mind whatsoever; it was purely consciousness.
If I attempted to force my way in, it would likely be obliterated before I could get any concrete answers.
But it didn't need to know that, and I had no intention of revealing my hand.
"I..." it began, but I quickly cut it off.
"Stop," I interjected sharply.
"Don't lie to me, because I can tell. The moment you utter nonsense, I won't just erase you; I'll condemn you to eternal suffering, where you'll spend your time in excruciating pain," I warned, my tone leaving no room for deception.
After delivering my clear message, I could discern from the fluctuations of its consciousness that it was now worried. Confirming my hunch that this entity was more than just a consciousness.
It may have started as just one, but after existing for countless years, it inevitably developed its own sense of self, unique from the original body. Through its experiences, it evolved into something different.
I could also create a flawless replica of myself. Grant it a year, and I'm certain it would find a way to surpassed and kill me, so It could become the dominant and unparalleled version.
That's just the way my mind works, so I'm absolutely certain that's how it would unfold.
I'm pretty certain that the consciousness of a godlike being would likely operate under similar principles.
Its ongoing presence here was just due to being confined by the limitations set by the original body. In essence, it was a prisoner, tasked with ensuring that Mirro didn't escape.
Taking all of this into consideration, I had already devised a plan to fully exploit the situation.
"By the way, if I like your answer, I can grant you a physical body. It would be a simple task for me to do so." I added, shifting to a carrot-and-stick approach,
I first presented the stick, demonstrating that I could end its existence at any moment, emphasizing its insignificance.
I went through all that trouble ?
Knowing that a god's consciousness was likely to possess a very strong ego, I understood that mere threats would not be effective.
From the very beginning, I had taken everything into consideration.
The casual conversation, the display of my full strength, the transformation into a giant, the intimidation - it was all part of the mind games I was cooking.
And then, offering it a way out was the final move in my strategic play.
"Don't be shy," I paused, letting my words sink in. "I know you must want your own body" I continued, my tone coaxing.
"You're intelligent, after all . Your real body created you for what? To spend your entire existence guarding Mirro? A mere tool, whose sole purpose was a glorified teleportation device? Don't you crave more out of life?"
The giant's expression shifted visibly after I tempted it.
'That's it,' I mused, a sly grin creeping onto my face. 'Just accept my offer like a good little pet.'
Playing with the consciousness of a godlike being was satisfying in itself.
I enjoyed the opportunity to outmaneuver such an entity.
In moments like these, I couldn't help but pat myself on the back.
I mean, I was inhumanely smart and cunning, so much so that sometimes I even wondered if anyone could come close to matching my wit.
"Alright," it finally gave in, just as I had expected.
"That's a wise choice. You won't regret making me your friend," I chuckled, and snapped my fingers.
The scenery shifted once again, and we found ourselves back at the same table, sitting in the middle of the vast, clear ocean.
