New life with a sci-fi system

Just because Peggy finally recognized me didn't mean that she automatically trusted me. In fact she became more suspicious of me and my motivations as according to her it made no sense why I would seek her out. I told her about Shield asking me to help them locate her which seemed to make her more suspicious given her personal betrayal by a branch of government. I also mentioned my personal motivations for seeking her out to harvest some of her DNA in the hopes of creating a chapter of Astartes. It made sense to use super soldier DNA as it was essentially a precursor for what I wanted to create.

Although Peggy doubted that I could actually achieve this as many had tried over the years it at least eased the tension in the room. Now that I had a clear reason for wanting to contact her and I wasn't being aggressive about despite what occurred earlier Peggy felt willing to talk. She explained that she woke up in a Hydra base, how she fought her way out and was forced to go on the run. Peggy has been in hiding ever since unsure about who to trust as even the British parliament had Hydra agents. I had no idea that Hydra had so deeply sunken it's claws into world politics but I wouldn't be surprised if other major powers were just as bad.

Hawkgirl POV (Thanagarian Embassy Washington)

This wasn't how things were supposed to go, we were to be celebrated as we integrated humanity into the Thanagarian empire. Thanks mostly to Julian Black the anti-Xenos felt empowered and constantly spread their hate speech. This has caused some resistance but nothing that couldn't be eroded given time. With well planned interviews humanity was beginning to truly view us as allies and given a few years would have surrendered and joined the empire. We were on the road to peaceful integration which was my vision but because of single incident we now in a cold war with earth.

The entire situation has become a powder keg ready to explode no matter how small the trigger may be. The Thanagarian leadership is completely unwilling to surrender earth and slowly growing impatient and have threatened to take the decision out of my hands unless I somehow regain control of the situation. I admit my personal feelings for earth made me take a softer approach but I lost support from many League members with only a handful tenuous supporters. I needed a way to get humanity to get in line with the new order otherwise they would have to be made to.

Reed Richard POV (Baxter building)

The world has changed drastically after the Apokolips invasion the Thanagarians acted as allies only reveal their true intentions shortly after. More importantly it seems like Black technology is developing some sort of invention that has even the Thanagarians worked up. There was definitive proof yet of what it is but many suspect that it might be a super weapon. The Thanagarian dignitaries have been demanding access to determine what this top secret project might be but due to the current social climate they have received a lot of push back. The constant push back has only served in raising tensions between earth and the Thanagarian empire.

I have tried using my personal connections at Shield but whatever the project is either they weren't willing to share or they didn't know. I kept poking around with various contacts hopping to at least find a clue as to what it could be until I received a video call from Fury. Fury glaring at me through the screen told me to drop it without saying what exactly before ending the call.

Apparently Shield did know but I wasn't allowed to investigate whatever it was, Me the most brilliant man alive. I was being benched from the project yet I heard that Tony fucking Stark just called Julian personally and was to receive a personal tour of the project from Julian Black and where was Sue during this time? She was still not talking to me in fact she went out of her way to avoid me. She still talks with Johnny and Ben or at least she used to talk with Ben as she threw him out her office yesterday for trying mediate between us. She hasn't come back home or my lab so I haven't seen her since, she is either in her office or she stays at Julian's home in Gotham yet she hasn't returned to my side what exactly is wrong with her?

Sue Storm POV (Julian's mansion)

It has been a while and as Julian predicted Reed never tried to reach out and fix our relationship. Instead of confronting me himself he had Ben do so instead not a single call or text I even went to the office multiple times yet nothing! I began to hangout with Miranda Lawson and Mechanika they believe that I was too dependent upon Reed for validation as he reminded of my distant father. The worst part is I think they might be right which was humiliating as I was just a cliche girl with daddy issues. At least it wasn't so readily apparent as I dated someone close to my age.
