Chapter 24: Chapter 24: The Identity Reveal, the Surprise Trap Plan, and Bokki's Hero Moment
Day Twenty-Three. 7:17 AM.
Min-Jae opened his eyes to find Bokki perched on his chest, eyes narrowed like he'd seen some things in the night.
"Is this a warning?"
Bokki sneezed.
"Message received."
---
Scene 1: Plotting the Trap
Over pancakes and mutual exhaustion, Soo-Min slapped a piece of paper on the table.
"We set a trap."
"...Do you want to elaborate before I call the police on you?"
She pointed to a sketch.
It was terrible. Crayon. Labeled boxes.
"We set out a fake Bokki plush with a GPS chip and hide in the bushes with a Nerf gun and camera."
"How will that help?"
"If the stalker takes the bait, we follow."
"And what if it's a squirrel again?"
"Then we capture viral footage and probably cry."
---
Scene 2: Operation Catfish
That night, the plan began.
They set the plush on the balcony. Turned on cameras. Hid behind the curtain.
Min-Jae whispered, "This is peak insanity."
Soo-Min whispered back, "You once wore my hoodie to a ramen contest. This is nothing."
3:12 AM. A shadow appeared.
They tensed.
The figure crept onto the balcony.
Grabbed the plush.
Ran.
Soo-Min: "HE TOOK IT. MOVE!"
They burst out of the apartment with walkie-talkies, trench coats, and sneakers.
"This feels illegal," Min-Jae hissed.
"That's because it probably is."
---
Scene 3: The Identity Reveal
They followed the GPS tracker across three blocks.
To a small, messy studio apartment.
They peeked in the window.
Inside: Posters of Bokki. Printouts of livestream screenshots. A full-blown SHIRINE.
And in the middle — a familiar face.
"Is that… KIM JOO-HOON?!"
"Your high school lab partner?!"
Joo-Hoon was gently brushing the plush.
"My beautiful prince... they can't appreciate you like I do..."
Min-Jae nearly threw up. "He's talking to fake Bokki."
Soo-Min: "Okay. We need backup."
They called Kang-Dae.
---
Scene 4: Bokki's Hero Moment
By the time they got back home, Kang-Dae was already waiting — and so was Bokki.
"He's been pacing like a tiny mob boss," the guard said.
Soo-Min opened the door.
Joo-Hoon was there.
"I just wanted to say goodbye... before I left town. I—"
Bokki launched from the shelf. Perfect arc. Landed on Joo-Hoon's head.
SCRATCH. THUD. FLAILING.
Min-Jae grabbed Joo-Hoon. Kang-Dae stepped in with cuffs (toy ones — but effective).
Joo-Hoon sobbed. "I just wanted him to love me..."
Soo-Min: "Bro. He doesn't even love us most days."
---
Scene 5: Internet Reaction
News spread fast.
@DramaAlertSeoul: CAT STALKER IDENTIFIED! MINJAE & SOOMIN SAVE THE DAY (WITH FLUFFY JUSTICE)
@DetectiveCat: Bokki really said 'Not today, Satan.'
Fan art appeared: Bokki in a cape. Bokki on a wanted poster. Bokki holding handcuffs.
They trended under: #BokkiStrikesBack
---
Scene 6: Celebration… and Nap
That evening, Soo-Min, Min-Jae, and Bokki sat on the couch.
Cuddled. Safe. A little scratched up.
"We faced a stalker, saved a plush, and trended worldwide," Min-Jae said.
"And Bokki committed justified assault."
Bokki purred. Possibly smugly.
They all fell asleep together.
Three weirdos.
One weird little home.
