Chapter 158: Omniscience in Marvel 152: Aethon's Genius
152
…
It was a calm afternoon in the garden of the Hawthorne mansion. The sun shone brightly, casting soft golden rays over the neatly trimmed hedges and vibrant flowerbeds.
It was a scene right out of any fantasy, and in the middle of the expansive lawn, Aethon sat comfortably on a thick blanket, his chubby little hands resting on his knees as he watched Tony Stark, now a 11 year old prodigy, enthusiastically set up his latest project.
Tony, wearing a smaller version of his father's lab coat, went around with a serious look on his face. His hair was slightly messy, as if he had just run through a whirlwind of ideas and experiments.
Next to him lay a collection of gadgets and miniature circuits, things far too advanced for the normal child, let alone an infant like Aethon. But Tony had never let that stop him.
Lila, Atheon's maid, stood a few feet away, her arms folded and her expression blank as she observed the scene happening before her. She had grown used to Tony's presence, and although she found his antics both amusing and perplexing, her stoic demeanor rarely wavered.
Today was no different, though deep down, even she had to admit that this was one of the most fantastical scenes she had ever witnessed. Over the period she spent taking care of Aethon, she had come to realise that Tony was anything but a normal child.
She and Mia were able to wave it off in the earlier periods with the notion that Tony was a Stark, a family known for acquiring their wealth through weapons manufacturing.
Now though, she'd grown numb. Despite her college degree in Human management and Tourism, she could swear she understood less than five percent of what comes out of Tony's mouth.
"All right, Aethon, buddy, you ready to learn some cool science stuff?" Tony asked, grinning down at the baby, who looked up at him with wide, curious eyes.
Aethon responded with a high-pitched babble, clapping his little hands together in excitement. Tony didn't speak baby tongue but he certainly took that as a definitive yes.
"Awesome! I knew you'd be up for it." Tony plopped down on the blanket next to Aethon, holding up a small circuit board. "Okay, so this here is a basic prototype for a self-regulating energy source. It can control voltage flow and keep a consistent charge, even when the power input fluctuates."
Aethon giggled, nodding as if he completely understood the words coming out of Tony's mouth. The sight made Lila blink in disbelief, though she remained quiet, watching Tony continue with his enthusiastic explanation.
"You see, if we tweak the resistance here…" Tony gestured at a tiny component on the board, "...we can ensure that the energy doesn't overload the system. Overload is bad, obviously. We don't want that. Now, with this resistor, it'll balance things out. It's basic electrical engineering, really." He glanced at Aethon, whose eyes were glued to the circuit board.
"Got it?"
Aethon tilted his head in confusion for a moment following which he squealed and reached out, his small fingers brushing over the smooth surface of the board for a moment before his lips then pulled back into a wide smile, as if he were following every word Tony said.
Tony laughed, his face lighting up. "You're a fast learner, Aethon! I bet by the time you're five, we'll be building arc reactors together."
Lila cleared her throat softly, her brow furrowing as she tried to process the absurdity of what was happening.
A ten-year-old explaining college-level science concepts to a baby who clearly had no real understanding of it, and yet… Aethon seemed genuinely invested, nodding, clapping in all the right places and showing looks of confusion oftentimes.
Tony continued, completely unfazed by the strangeness of it all. He lifted another device…a small, sleek box with wires running in and out of it. "Now this, little man, is the future of energy storage. It's a prototype for a compact battery system that can hold up to twenty times the energy of a standard lithium-ion battery. It's crazy efficient! I'm thinking of calling it the 'StarkCell.' What do you think?"
Aethon responded with an excited babble, his eyes wide as the box lit up with a soft blue glow. He clapped his hands, his small face lighting up with joy causing Tony to look at him with pride beaming out of him.
"I knew you'd love it! See, this thing could power your toys for years without recharging. Imagine never having to change the batteries in your robot toys!" Tony leaned in closer, whispering conspiratorially, "We could revolutionize the toy industry, Aethon. We'll make a fortune!"
Aethon babbled back at him, nodding and clapping again.
Lila, standing by with her usual reserved stance, stoically observed with a blank expression. She had gotten used to this scene since she had failed to comprehend the surreal spectacle taking place in front of her.
She'd been seeing Tony lecture Aethon like this for quite some time now.
A toddler, although old enough to crawl, was being subjected to information that made her own head spin.
And yet, somehow, the scene felt strangely… natural. As if Tony and Aethon were truly communicating in their own language, one of lights, babbles, and incomprehensible jargon.
Tony reached for yet another gadget from his seemingly bottomless backpack.
This time, it was a mechanical toy he'd built from scratch, a well crafted pulley system attached to a series of gears. "Okay, now this is one of my cooler projects. It's a mechanical arm I rigged up to lift objects using levers and pulleys. It's not as advanced as what we'll have in the future, but it's pretty awesome for now. You wanna see it in action?"
Aethon squealed with delight, reaching out toward the toy. Tony chuckled and handed him a small wooden lever attached to the contraption before turning to Lila who was about to say something. "Don't worry, it's baby-proofed," before turning back to Aethon. "Just pull this lever here, and watch the magic happen."
Aethon's tiny fingers gripped the lever, and with a bit of effort, he pulled it down. The mechanical arm whirred and clicked, its gears grinding smoothly as it extended outward to lift a small block that Tony had placed nearby.
Aethon's face lit up with pure glee, clapping his hands together in excitement as the arm completed its task.
Lila blinked again, still standing silently in her corner. Her lips twitched into the smallest of smiles, though her expression remained largely unreadable. However, if one were to intrude into her mind, they'd find her screaming at the top of her...mental lungs.
The pulley system was a widely known mechanical system that even kids in middle and highschool knew about. However, seeing an arm built upon such a system and even capable of moving on it's own to pick up a stone...
'Something is definitely wrong here.' she thought.
(A/N: So Tony already had a basic foundational idea for his Iron man suit in his childhood.)
"See? You're a natural, Aethon!" Tony praised, clearly enjoying the baby's reaction. "Pretty soon, you'll be designing stuff like this on your own. We're gonna make a great team, you and me."
Aethon's response was another round of giggles and a few unintelligible syllables, but to Tony, it was as if Aethon had given him the highest compliment in the world.
The robotic arm placed the block down gently, and Aethon clapped again, his excitement only growing as Tony continued to tinker with the gadgets in front of him.
Lila finally let out a quiet sigh, shaking her head slightly, though her eyes remained on the two boys, one a genius, the other barely able to walk, somehow connecting through their shared fascination with blinking lights and beeping gadgets.
Despite the surrealism of the moment, there was an undeniable charm to the bond that was forming between them. It was a friendship unlike any other, grounded in laughter, science, and the mutual joy of discovery.
Tony gave one last grin as he looked at Aethon. "Just you wait, little man. One day, we're going to change the world. Together."
Aethon let out another gleeful babble, as if wholeheartedly agreeing with the words his friend had just made.
…
In an office room of the Hawthorne mansion, a thick atmosphere hung as Leucadius stood by a large desk, his hands resting casually on the polished wood.
He wore a neutral expression, his sharp eyes fixed on the holographic display projected above the desk, a live feed from the garden outside. On the screen, Aethon giggled as Tony proudly showed off his latest mechanical invention, their laughter carrying a lightness that sharply contrasted with the tension in the room.
Beside him stood Thena, her arms crossed but her face soft as she watched their son, oblivious to the gravity of the discussion about to unfold.
Across from them, seated in comfortable chairs, were Hala and Peggy Carter, their eyes on the same feed.
The Ancient One, Tilda, stood near the far corner, her presence a drastic contrast for her usual ancient and mysterious demeanor as she observed silently.
Leucadius sighed lightly, breaking the silence. "Scientifically, the enzymes in his brain, the neuroplasticase," he began, his tone casual but edged with concern, "are working overtime. It's overwhelming his system, accelerating his cognitive abilities faster than any normal child should experience. His learning is off the charts, far too rapid. He's absorbing information like a sponge… but at great cost." He looked toward Thena, his brow furrowing slightly, before glancing back at the others.
Leucadius had calculated the level of energy his natural born son would be like and had told Thena in advance. As a caring father, he had also prepared a lot of seals to be placed on him only to be released as he grew.
Thena had immediately opposed saying that she would never allow her own child to grow in that manner citing that it would make him weak.
To Thena, control was a form of Strength.
However, no matter how much she argued, it couldn't negate the unfortunate effect of his Divine heritage, and after a few days of arguments, they finally agreed to seal away his Magical aspects while leaving his biological ones.
But as though the universe tried to mock her and side with Leucadius, Aethon's body immediately attracted the aether energy flowing in the atmosphere.
And of all the parts of Aethon's body a super gene could be formed, his brain was chosen.
That look he gave Thena was one of: I told you so.
…
Peggy leaned forward slightly in her chair to reply. "It's no wonder you're concerned, Leucadius," she said, her eyes shifting from the live feed to Leucadius himself. "That level of brain activity... it's beyond anything we've ever seen."
Leucadius's gaze shifted to Peggy, his voice lowering a notch. "You came here in a rush when your secret squad monitoring what you've been calling 'Aether energy' caught wind of something, didn't you?" He paused for a moment, watching Peggy's reaction. "The energy that facilitates the development of super genes, encoding powers beyond the norm."
"How'd you-"
"We've been around far longer than you think, a secret squad of that level isn't as well hidden as you might think." Leucadius glanced at her for a moment. "According to your device, Aethon should be giving off an enormous amount of it?"
Peggy hesitated, her lips pursed as she considered her response. Her eyes briefly flicked to the graph showing Aethon, then back to Leucadius. "It's not just enormous, it's unprecedented.
My team detected spikes of Aether energy centered around him, energy levels that shouldn't exist in a child his age, or any human for that matter. If this continues, we're looking at a potential-"
"-disruption," Leucadius finished for her. His expression remained calm, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of concern. He turned to Tilda, the Ancient One, who had been watching the conversation unfold in silence.
"You're here for the same reason, aren't you?" Leucadius asked, tilting his head slightly toward her.
Tilda, standing in her usual composed and serene manner, nodded slowly. "Indeed," she replied, her voice carrying a certain weight of wisdom. "The energy you speak of, this Aether, is not simply a scientific anomaly. It is interwoven with the very fabric of the mystical realm."
"Its presence around Aethon is a sign of something far greater than mere genetic enhancement. It suggests... potential beyond human comprehension. A convergence of both the mystical and physical domains-"
Thena's hand tightened slightly on the arm of her chair, her concern growing. "But is it dangerous?" she asked, her voice soft but steady. "For him?"
Tilda's gaze moved from Leucadius to Thena, her expression gentle but serious. "Potential is never without its risks, Lady Thena. But danger is a matter of how it is managed. Aethon is at a crossroads, one where his path will either lead to something extraordinary, or something destructive. He is not like other children."
Peggy and Tilda knew what it meant to be a God. They knew that they were basically living creatures created with varying genetic make ups. But was that all there was to it?
Knowing and Understanding were two different things afterall.
With certain magical techniques they could be subdued. Humans were capable of fighting back.
However, at the end of all that was time, Humans who could use magic would die out while for the gods, it would be a flick of time just passing.
Leucadius exhaled sharply, glancing back at the live feed. Tony, oblivious to the significance of the scene, was still animatedly explaining concepts far beyond his age to an attentive Aethon, who clapped his baby hands together, delighting in the mechanical marvels Tony presented.
He understood they wanted him to send Aethon to the schools at The Heavenly Realm where his genius would actually blossom.
However that wasn't what Leucadius wanted. He wanted Aethon to just have a life on Earth where he could actually influence the course of history without alarming the strings of fate. /1/
Peggy leaned back slightly in her chair, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "The question we need to ask now," she said slowly, "is how we move forward with this. If his Aether energy continues to increase at this rate, it won't be long before others, those we don't want involved, catch wind of it."
Leucadius nodded in agreement. "We keep this contained for now. Let him grow, naturally, without interference. But we need to monitor him closely. This much energy being channeled through his young body... it could be overwhelming."
Thena shifted in her seat, glancing back at the holographic feed of Aethon and Tony. "And Tony? He's smart for his age, but…"
Leucadius smiled faintly, almost amused. "Tony's brilliance may be the least of our concerns. If anything, his youthful enthusiasm might be just what Aethon needs right now, an anchor to something simple, even if Tony doesn't realize it."
Tilda's gaze grew distant for a moment, her eyes narrowing as though she were contemplating something deep within the mystical realm. "It is not only Aethon's future that will be shaped by this energy," she said quietly. "Those around him, those he touches, will be affected too. Aether is not just a power. It is a force of connection, of creation."
Hala, who had been silent for most of the conversation, finally spoke up. "If Aether energy is as powerful as we're discussing, then monitoring may not be enough. We'll need contingencies."
Peggy glanced at her, nodding. "Agreed. We need to explore every possibility."
Leucadius, his eyes still fixed on the scene in the garden, simply nodded. "We will. But for now, let Aethon be a child. We'll have our plans in place when the time comes."
***
/1/ It's your author here to clarify what I wrote there. I'm suddenly going through a phase in my life where I'm trying to write something I've never seen out there before on the web.
There have been a lot of stories about Reincarnating as Greek, Egypt, American, Norse and many other religions stories, but I've never seen one written about the biblical ones.
I'm just writing this based on my view of the Bible. If you've followed so far, you should've noticed how I've been using ASPECT from the beginning and how other biblical stories played out.
Take it as though all the prophets who prophesied about the coming of Leucadius' son Yeshua was merely a moment of glee when Leucadius finds his favorite human and shows them a couple Genjutsus about his coming son.
Anyways. As for this son, I'm referencing to a lot of things that'll will finally be taking place after the Infinity War Arc and the Celestial And Eternals' scuffle with the celestial buried in earth in reference to the Revelation Arc from the Bible.
Think About it.
The Moment the Rising Celestial brings out his Hand, Some of Leucadius' Mad Machinations over the Years would Come to fulfillment with Ygdrassil(His Virtual Realm) in the form of the Game he had created years ago.
The Merge would Cause the Fabric or Reality Surrounding Gaia(Earth) to weaken, allowing Set(That Ancient Serpent) that had been sealed off of Earth to Burst In.
The Four Horsemen and the Whole Lot of things that was said to take place in the Revelation from the Bible.
This will be a special information to you all as you're my patrons. Think about it and keep your subscriptions coming.
PS: Aether is energy. It doesn't matter if it's Chi, Ki, Qi, Mana, Magicule. What makes it unique is that it is an energy of the Ygdrassil Universe, which makes it a sort of Cosmic Energy. In the Normal Marvel Timeline, All Humans are genetically enhanced by Cosmic Energy, however those who can tap into it end up developing Chi or Qi or Ki.
In the case of Mages, they use Universal Energy, which is also Cosmic Energy in its pure form. And that is the case for Aethon. With his connection to bringing about the Merge, he has an innate connection to the Ygdrassil Universe, giving him unprecedented levels of Aether energy.
The same energy that Peggy also has.
Remember what I said about all being energy? Well, there's nothing left to say if you can read in-between the lines.
Enjoy.
