Chapter 159: Omniscience in Marvel 153: Aethon's System

…
Leucadius observed the scene unfolding on the holographic screen, his eyes never leaving Aethon, who was still in the garden with Tony.
The child's mind, vast as it was for his age, soaked up everything Tony said, from the complex discussions about circuits to the simple excitement of activating a toy.
It was a spectacle that, for any other onlooker, would seem both amusing and concerning. For Leucadius, however, it was something else entirely.
In his mind, a single thought surfaced: Aethon happened to get lucky. He'd inherited a perk, a sliver of power from Leucadius's own Omniscience, something that allowed him to understand, absorb, and process information at an alarming rate.
While Leucadius had perfect control over the vast knowledge he had accumulated, able to access it with precision and intent, Aethon lacked that control.
His young mind absorbed everything—anything—that it came across. The danger wasn't just in the speed of his learning, but in the breadth of it. Aethon was still too young to filter, to discriminate between what he needed and what he didn't.
Leucadius glanced at the others in the room, then back at the hologram of his son.
His son was as innocent as Adam and Eve of yesteryears. However, while he allowed them to gain enlightenment by eating the fruit, there was nothing he could do in Aethon's case.
If something became too complicated for Aethon, the solution was simple: he only needed to make physical contact. A touch, something so basic, and the knowledge would transfer seamlessly.
It was as if his body was attuned to understanding through tactile interaction, a perk Leucadius knew could easily spiral out of control if not carefully monitored.
It would be a disaster if the skill managed to affect Living Creatures this early in the infant's life. He could get the genetic make up of a human just with a single touch.
If that wasn't terrifying, then nothing else really was.
Turning toward the group, Leucadius spoke with a measured tone. "This is clearly a case of inherited genes," he began, his eyes briefly settling on each of them before returning to Aethon's projection. "He gets his intelligence from me, but it seems the boy's enhanced physique comes from his maternal side, the Eternal bloodline running strong in him."
Peggy glanced at everyone in room while processing this new revelation, while Hala and Tilda remained quiet, their gazes thoughtful.
They were both old hags…*cough* women. Women who were over 2000 and 500 years of age respectively so this wasn't a new scene to them. Though they could argue that Aethon probably inherited everything from Leucadius.
Thena was strong, but Leucadius took all her abilities to a whole other level. A level she herself hadn't even touched upon yet…so they could only surmise that Leucadius was trying to make Thena feel good for some reason.
"It's fortunate," Leucadius continued, a faint smile touching his lips, "that Aethon was born into this household. With power like this, had he been born to any careless family, it wouldn't take long before we'd have a villain backstory on our hands."
The tension in the room eased as laughter rippled through the group. Peggy chuckled, shaking her head at the thought. "He might have taken over the world before he could even walk," she quipped.
Leucadius chuckled, allowing the moment of levity to carry on, but his mind was already moving ahead, calculating.
His concerns, unlike the laughter in the room, were far from trivial. Aethon's future would be shaped not just by the strength of his abilities but by how they were managed.
One misstep, one careless exposure, and the boy's life would spiral out of control.
With a wave of his hand, the holographic projection fizzled out, and the casual atmosphere dissolved. "That'll be all for now," Leucadius said, dismissing the group. "Peggy, Hala, Ancient One, thank you for your insights."
The group quietly rose from their seats, each nodding before exiting the room, leaving only Leucadius, Thena, and the projection of Aspect.
As the door clicked shut behind the others, the room's energy shifted. Thena, who had remained quiet through most of the discussion, was the only one left.
Her eyes betrayed the worry she had been holding back, but she said nothing.
Leucadius broke the silence. "Well then, I need a strong enough reason not to take matters into my own hands."
Thena's brow furrowed, and she turned to face him fully. "What measures are you considering?"
Leucadius didn't answer directly. Instead, his gaze shifted to Aspect, who hovered patiently beside them. "Aspect," Leucadius began, "how is the system blueprint I had you working on?"
Aspect's holographic projection flickered slightly before solidifying. His voice, smooth and clear, filled the room. "The system blueprint has undergone several iterations. Based on the original design, I have integrated the data from the initial test subject, Peggy Carter. Her genetic makeup allowed for marginal improvements in both cognitive retention and physical endurance."
Leucadius listened carefully, his expression unreadable as Aspect spoke. A sign that he was following.
Aspect continued, "The latest version of the blueprint is ready for deployment. However…" Aspect paused briefly, calculating the right words, "Aethon is no average..Being. His body has already developed towards Yggdrasil's Aether energy before the merge. This energy has accelerated his genetic potential beyond normal parameters."
Leucadius nodded slowly, understanding the implications. "Then upgrade the system," he said simply. "Specifically for Aethon. I want this system to be able to monitor and guide his growth remotely, so that all of us, myself, Thena, and even Hala, can intervene if necessary. I won't leave him vulnerable to the chaos this kind of power can bring."
Aspect's projection bowed slightly. "Of course. The upgrade will take only a moment."
As Aspect's hologram disappeared, Thena's frown deepened. She turned to Leucadius, her voice filled with concern. "You're not planning on stunting his growth, are you? I know you're worried, but Aethon has potential, Leuca. You can't keep him locked away or slowed down."
Leucadius's features softened as he stood up and stepped closer to her. He placed a hand gently on her shoulder, his voice tender. "I won't stunt his growth, Thena. I'm looking forward to his potential as much as you are. But I can't just let him grow unchecked. If we don't guide him, carefully and deliberately, he could lose control of everything that makes him special."
"Were we in Heaven, this wouldn't be a problem." Thena raised an argument.
"But we both know we can't go back there. Lucifer, Yeshua and now Aethon. They were all born for a unique purpose. One which I have foreshadowed for as long as possible. You are not expecting me to just throw close to 10,000 years worth of planning away just due to some…minor setback…are you?"
Thena's eyes softened at his words, she understood Leucadius and his quirks, but the worry remained. She knew the danger as well as he did. Still, she trusted Leucadius, he had always been careful, always one step ahead.
Before she could reply, Aspect's projection reappeared. This time, a small cube floated in his hand, emitting a faint, ethereal glow. "The system upgrade has been completed," Aspect announced. "This is the Yggdrasil System, now fully optimized for Aethon. It will track his energy output, monitor fluctuations in Aether levels, and provide real-time feedback on his development. The upgrades include adaptive control mechanisms, specifically tuned to account for his Eternal heritage and his connection to Ather energy."
Leucadius's eyes narrowed, studying the glowing cube. "And this will allow us to guide him from anywhere?"
Aspect nodded. "Indeed. It's designed to work across any distance, ensuring constant oversight. Should his energy levels spike, you'll be notified immediately."
Leucadius reached out, his hand brushing the surface of the cube. A soft hum vibrated from within. "Perfect," he murmured, satisfied.
Aspect's projection flickered again. "I must caution you, however. While the system will give you control over his environment, Aethon's own internal development remains unpredictable. His development of Aether energy has already altered his trajectory significantly."
Leucadius gave a small nod. "I expected as much. But with this system, we can at least ensure he stays on the right path."
Upon brushing the surface of the holographic projection earlier, Leucadius had already gotten the full details of the system blueprint deposited into his brain. A skill very much similar to the one Aethon displayed earlier, but if Aethon should attempt this, a brain fry would be the least of his problems.
This led to Leucadius understanding how it could affect Aethon but he wasn't bothered.
In the beginning of his life on this planet, he only ever had Cosmic Energy. One event led to another and he developed Holy Energy, and after that, he researched the infinity stones with which he came to understand Energy more.
At its core, energy was simply particles oscillating at varying frequencies, influencing both matter and the essence of reality itself. The difference between the forms of energy lay in the vibrational speed and purpose of these particles.
Cosmic Energy, primal and raw, moved with a dense yet foundational vibration, fueling life and the cosmos at large. This was basically why Celestials had it, and as their pet project, so did the Eternals and humans.
Holy Energy, in contrast, resonated with a frequency more attuned to Divinity, capable of interacting with higher planes and metaphysical constructs, but most of all, it was His. Unique to him and Heaven.
The same applied to Odin's Odin-force, Nature Energy used by Celtic Gods and Druids, Heka, which was a form of magic energy used by the Ennead, Shakti for the Hindu, Spirit Energy used by the Aztecs, Shinto, Xian and Shin (Korean Deities),
As Leucadius could harness both, he understood that these energy forms could be manipulated, shaped, and controlled based on one's mastery of their vibrations.
The particles within Cosmic Energy, when slowed down or heightened, could transition into different forms of energy, just as light can behave both as a wave and a particle.
This gave insight into Aethon's development of Aether energy.
It was basically the same as other Energies, but Aether Energy was meant to be for Humans alone.
This would be the energy behind the magic system every chosen Human would get Upon the Apocalypse. It was a unique form that blended the vibrational essence of multiple energy types, resonating on a much broader spectrum.
Leucadius mused further on this, understanding that Aethon's growth with Aether was part of his evolutionary trajectory, his energy adapting to match the needs of his environment.
And with this newly designed system, he could ensure that while Aethon's energy remained unpredictable, it would always be monitored, gently nudged in the right direction when necessary.
It would be as though Aethon would be the First Player to awaken his Energy and second Player to use the Ygdrassil system after Peggy.
…
Thena watched the exchange in silence, her gaze moving from the cube to Leucadius's face.
Though she trusted him, a part of her was still worried. Not about Aethon's power, but about how much control they should exert over their son's destiny.
As if sensing her unease, Leucadius turned to her again and said in a soft voice. "You don't need to fear, Thena. I won't stifle him. I just want to make sure he reaches his full potential without losing himself along the way."
She gave him a small, hesitant smile, her worry easing, if only slightly.
Just then, Aspect's cube glowed brighter. "The Yggdrasil System is now fully active. All of Aethon's development parameters are being recorded and will be accessible to you at any moment."
Leucadius and Thena exchanged a look, both knowing that this was only the beginning of what would be a long journey guiding their son through the challenges ahead.
