Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Copying the S-Level Talent: Infection!
The demon sword, afraid of fire?
Why?
Leno found it odd, but now that its weakness was known, the battle was nearly over.
Leno breathed calmly.
He avoided the Slash Wave of the demon sword and stood in the burning area. He held his sword in both hands, and Haki was entangled with [Dragon Sparrow].
Winds swirled around the sword, wrapping around the flames.
A flame tornado began to form.
Leno then integrated his Armament Haki into it.
Leno often did this when forging, using Armament Haki as fuel.
The flames boiled, burning more fiercely, and the scorching temperature climbed.
The red flame quickly turned orange, then yellow-white, and the space around them seemed to distort.
The surrounding houses ignited spontaneously.
The demon sword sensed the danger.
The bloody aura of the blade flickered as it tried to escape.
However, Kaze did not move.
He stood still as the blood in his eyes faded under the scorching heat, becoming clear again.
Leno stared at him and said, "Mr. Kaze?"
When Kaze saw Leno on the opposite side, memories and images flooded his mind, finally turning into a sigh.
"Is that a sword forged by Kozaburo?"
Kaze looked at [Dragon Sparrow]. As a swordsmith, he knew it was a famous sword just by feeling it.
The rampage of the demon sword had something to do with it.
Perhaps, one mountain cannot accommodate two tigers.
Leno said, "Teacher Kozaburo instructed me to forge it myself!"
Kaze praised, "If you can perfectly combine Haki and flames, and are not afraid of the heat, you've become a master."
He looked at the struggling demon sword in his hand.
"It hasn't been fully forged yet; it was stained with my blood first."
His sword hadn't been truly completed yet.
"Just right, now, you complete the last step!"
He raised the demon sword.
The strange blood-colored aura wanted to escape from him, but it was suppressed by Kaze's will.
"You were born because of me, you should die with me, die in the fire, and be reborn!"
On Glass Ball Island, blossoms of blood floated up one after another, gathered toward the villager, and merged into his body.
The blood was stripped away, and the controlled people fell down one by one.
At last.
Kaze held the sword, looked at Leno, and said, "Do it!"
Leno knew what he was doing.
Sacrifice the sword with your body, quench the fire with blood.
He didn't say much.
This was a swordsmith pursuing his dreams, even if it cost him his life.
Leno raised his hand and swung the sword.
"One sword, one thought, one-sword style: Ryūjin Jakka!"
Wind, Haki, and flames—the three powers—perfectly blended together, forming a white flame that fell like a waterfall.
Boom!
The flames engulfed Kaze and the demon sword.
Blood, blood energy, sizzled as it shot straight up, tempering the blade.
The village was in flames, and Kaze smiled.
Before disappearing, Kaze thought of something and left his last words.
"There are still enemies on the island!"
The village disappeared, leaving behind a reverse-blade demon sword.
It rested on the ground, its slightly curved blade resembling a waning moon, clear as a blood diamond, reflecting a human face.
Ding! You defeated your opponent and scanned for talents: bloodthirsty (Level S), forging (Level S), infection (Level S), Armament Haki (Level A), Observation Haki (Level A), self-healing (Level A), sword-drawing technique (Level B), management (Level C).
The system prompt sounded.
Leno looked.
"This should be the talent of the demon sword and Kaze, right?"
"Three S-ranks?"
[Please host choose a talent as soon as possible!]
Having a high rank is definitely a priority.
Unless you can't use it, or at a low level, there are talents that Leno needed.
"Forging belongs to Kaze. Bloodthirsty and infection belong to the demon sword. First rule out forging."
"Infection, like a demon sword constantly slashing people?"
"Bloodthirsty, literally?"
Leno was in a dilemma; it wasn't an easy choice.
He hesitated again and again.
"Choose infection!"
This talent, which he had witnessed, was a bit perverse.
Ding! Congratulations to the host for duplicating the talent: Infection!
[Introduction to talents: On the physiological level, through the implantation of a certain part of the body with the same talent, assimilate or control others; on the psychological level, through emotions such as fear, awe, love, and sadness, arouse the same emotions and actions in others.]
Note: For those who are determined, the effect is reduced and side effects will occur.
After reading the talent introduction, Leno gasped.
So scary?!
The two methods of [Infection] were undoubtedly very practical.
Physiologically, it could be used to control enemies and subordinates.
On the psychological level, like an emotional fruit?
Pensive, Leno felt a warning in his heart.
He squinted slightly.
"What a perfect work of art!"
In the sound of exclamation, a man in a white robe jumped from the roof and landed on the ground, looking at the demon sword as if seeing a beauty. He reached out to take it.
CP0?
The iconic white robe and mask made Leno think of this organization belonging to the Celestial Dragons.
The enemies Kaze mentioned—are they?
Shing!
Leno raised his hand with a wave of his sword.
The man in the white robe stopped.
A sharp slash flew over, splitting a building apart.
The man in the white robe looked at Leno.
"Hey, did you do it?" Leno held the sword with one hand, the heavy [Dragon Sparrow], the blade glowing coldly.
The white-robed man remained silent, pointing at Leno.
"Shigan!"
Bang!
The sound of gunfire echoed.
Leno had expected it and raised the sword slightly, blocking the shockwave of the Shigan with the blade.
Then, he turned and counterattacked.
The white-robed man had already moved behind him, whipping his legs and releasing a blade-like Slash Wave.
"Tempest Kick Whip!"
Leno's Haki, wrapped around the blade, sent the Slash Wave flying.
Boom!
The crooked bell tower collapsed.
Leno drew closer and slashed with his sword.
The opponent also had Observation Haki, and his figure floated and twisted like paper, predicting each other's attacks.
"Kami-e!"
This was a CP0 member, a Grandmaster of Six Styles!
Leno suddenly stopped chopping, inserted the sword into the stone slab, and said provocatively with his bare hands, "Can you Tekkai?"
The white-robed man was startled.
A mere native dared to provoke him?
CP0 agents seemed to have stayed with the Celestial Dragons for too long; most of them became arrogant and contemptuous.
Faced with provocation.
He stood still, and the next moment, his arms turned black, and his whole body hardened.
"Tekkai!"
Is a swordsman who abandons his sword a threat to him?
Disdain!
Bad news: the opponent is CP0!
Good news: he used Tekkai!
Without the slightest hesitation, Leno rushed forward and punched him in the chest.
At the moment of impact, Leno's fists hardened, roaring fiercely like cannonballs.
Boom!
The dull sound, like a sledgehammer hitting an iron ingot, shattered his defenses.
Another force pierced in, causing secondary damage.
The white-robed man's face suddenly changed, and he flew backward, blood spurting out of his mouth, eyes filled with disbelief.
"Wanokuni's Emitting?!"
Leno raised his fist and said flatly, "I have been forging for a year! Emitting, isn't it basic practice for famous swordsmiths?"
