Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Hands Pressed Together (
Sakazuki's figure followed close behind, descending from the sky.
His right foot, flowing with magma, stomped down at Erinsna's position.
Erinsna planted her left hand on the ground and rolled to the side to dodge.
Bang!
A thunderous crash.
Countless streams of magma erupted from beneath Sakazuki's foot like a volcanic explosion, surging wildly in all directions.
Before Erinsna could even rise to her feet, the overwhelming flood of magma was already surging toward her.
She pushed forcefully off the ground with her arms, leaping into midair. Her legs stepped on the air repeatedly as she retreated—using Geppo.
"Rising Earth!"
Sakazuki dissolved into magma and merged with the surroundings, using Observation Haki to predict where Erinsna would land next.
A mountain of magma shot up from directly beneath her.
Erinsna coated her legs with Haki and stomped down hard. The upper half of the magma peak exploded instantly.
But from the lower half of the mountain, a torrent of magma burst upward, rocketing into the sky.
The immense impact sent Erinsna hurtling backward, straight toward the soaring magma column.
Sakazuki's upper body emerged in human form, while his lower half remained fused with the magma.
From the endless magma, his lower body extended into a towering magma pillar.
It launched Sakazuki's upper body rapidly toward Erinsna.
"Dog Biting Crimson Lotus."
Sakazuki's indifferent voice rang out, as one of his arms transformed into magma.
At the fist, the magma morphed into the snarling head of a dog, jaws wide open, lunging fiercely at Erinsna's neck.
Clang!
The sound of metal rang out.
Erinsna drew the longsword hanging at her waist, coated it in Haki, and blocked the savage jaws.
At the same time, she used the force to launch herself backward.
Still airborne, Erinsna's longsword now wrapped in Conqueror's Haki, she slashed downward.
Several massive crescent-shaped sword beams formed, cleaving down toward the Sea King beasts below.
The hundreds-of-meters-long Sea King carcass was instantly chopped into pieces, losing all buoyancy.
Half of its magma-covered remains sank into the seafloor.
Erinsna landed atop one of the Sea King chunks not yet covered in magma.
She looked up at Sakazuki in the sky, holding her sword in both hands, gathering power.
Sakazuki paid no attention to the sinking battlefield beneath them.
He brought both hands together and pulled outward—in a blink, a massive longsword over three meters long appeared.
Gripping the hilt with both hands, he coated the blade in Armament Haki.
He dove down from the sky, slashing fiercely at Erinsna with the black blade over three meters long.
Erinsna's longsword, spiraling with Conqueror's Haki, met the descending blade head-on.
Clang!
Metal clashed with metal.
Then came a deafening boom.
A violent gale exploded from where they clashed, ravaging everything nearby.
Zzz—! Zzz—!!!
Black and red lightning sparks ignited where the two clashed swords.
"Raaahhhhh!!!"
Erinsna roared as she unleashed her full strength.
A flicker of seriousness crossed Sakazuki's face as he too unleashed a mighty force.
BOOM!!!
It exploded!
Under the immense pressure, the longswords in their hands were knocked apart uncontrollably.
One sword slashed downward, the other upward.
Two boundless sword auras—one horizontal, one vertical—cleaved the sea and sky in two.
The two combatants were blasted apart.
Erinsna was sent flying onto a massive chunk of Sea King flesh.
She held her sword in both hands, her expression grave, eyes fixed on Sakazuki hovering in midair.
Sakazuki lightly tapped his right foot in the air—boom—a sonic shockwave rang out.
He remained suspended in the air, looking down.
Bang!
Another sonic boom and slicing wind sound echoed.
Both figures vanished in an instant.
Swords clashed continuously—then came the delayed echoes.
The two figures flashed and collided, either midair or atop the scattered Sea King flesh.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!...
Pillars of water shot into the sky all around as the two reappeared, blades locked once more.
Clang!
Zzz—! Zzz—!
Erinsna was sent flying backward.
Her body trailed afterimages through the sky, then crashed into the Kuja Pirates' ship in the distance.
Boom!!!
"Was that—?!"
"What the hell?!"
"Your Majesty!!!"
"Catch her!!!"
"Quick!!!"
The Kuja Pirates' crew cried out in alarm as they saw the figure flying toward them.
When they realized it was their own Empress, they rushed to intercept her path.
But the moment of contact was accompanied by a surge of force, followed by a massive crashing noise.
Several people were dragged down with Erinsna into the ship's hold.
"Ugh..."
"Hiss..."
"Where's Her Majesty?!"
"Ptuh!!!"
"Cough, cough..."
Cries of pain filled the hold. Ignoring their injuries, everyone anxiously looked for the Empress.
"Cough... I'm fine."
Erinsna's coughing voice rang out. She propped herself up with her longsword and stood, face pale.
Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. Her right hand, gripping the weapon, trembled slightly.
The gap was enormous—especially in terms of raw power. It was completely overwhelming.
Each clash felt like a volcanic eruption, the shockwaves numbing her arms until they lost all feeling.
Erinsna suddenly sensed something and looked up sharply.
With a stomp of her foot, she bolted out of the ship's hold. Sakazuki's cold voice rang from above.
"Great Eruption."
A colossal magma fist, several times larger than the Kuja Pirate ship, came crashing down.
A crescent-shaped sword beam soared from the ship, shwaa, cleaving the massive magma fist in two.
The halves fell to either side of the ship.
Erinsna's furious roar followed:
"That's enough, Navy!"
She glared up at Sakazuki, who stood in midair using Geppo, her sword still glowing.
"This time, we admit defeat."
"All the treasure on this ship is yours."
Sakazuki looked coldly at everyone below. His indifferent voice echoed:
"You think this is just some childish pirate game?"
Clap!
Sakazuki, still suspended in the sky, pressed his hands together.
The magma fist that had been split in two began to twist and morph mid-fall, reshaping into two massive magma palms.
A thunderous roar followed.
Magma erupted from the backs of the two giant palms. The Kuja Pirates' ship, positioned between them, seemed to be pulled by some invisible force.
The palms moved toward each other—pressing together around the ship.
BOOM!!!!!!
