Chapter 37: Chapter 37 – The Death of the Empress of Amazon Lily
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
Two colossal magma fists slammed together, and with an earth-shattering roar, lava erupted violently.
Endless magma surged and spread, forming a small island of molten rock within moments.
Then it gradually began to sink. Aside from the massive clouds of steam rising into the air, the sea's surface was eerily empty.
The soldiers aboard the warship were all murmuring in shocked admiration about what they had just witnessed.
"Wow!!!"
"Did you see that?!"
"Hiss!!!"
"That was incredible!!!"
"Those two magma fists were insanely strong!!!"
"Sakazuki-sama!!!"
"He's back!!!"
Sakazuki leapt back onto the ship.
The soldiers, ignoring their wounds, all stood up and looked at Sakazuki with excited, admiring gazes.
With a quick glance at them, Sakazuki waved his hand and said in his deep voice:
"Alright, go get yourselves bandaged."
"Take a proper rest."
The soldiers responded with high spirits:
"Yes, sir!!!!!!"
Sakazuki then made his way to the uppermost deck, standing near the guardrail, and activated his ability.
Both his arms turned into magma, thick black smoke billowing from them, as molten rock poured onto the deck. He raised his arms and aimed at a spot in the sky.
"Meteor Volcano."
It was like launching a barrage of rockets.
Countless magma fists shot diagonally from his arms into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!...
It continued for five whole minutes before finally stopping. The magma reformed into his arms, and he walked into his quarters.
...
Deep beneath the unknown sea.
A hundred-meter-long giant serpent, scorched in multiple places, thrashed madly as it swam forward.
Clinging to the scales on its back were more than a dozen female figures.
In the wake of the volcanic eruption, most of the Kuja Pirates—along with their belongings—had turned to ash.
Only this giant serpent and the dozen or so survivors on its back remained, fleeing in a panic.
After an unknown distance, Erinsna was just about to order the serpent to surface so everyone could catch their breath—
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!...
The sound of water evaporating on a branding iron filled the air.
Erinsna's pupils shrank sharply as she looked around—one by one, massive magma fists, each several meters wide, crashed into the sea.
Thick smoke and searing heat stirred the sea into a frenzy of bubbles and roars, and the water began to boil rapidly.
The high temperature made the serpent squirm anxiously.
Erinsna ordered the serpent to surface, and just as it breached the water and before anyone could take a breath—
BOOM!!!!!!!
Szz—! Szz—! Szz—!...
An explosion rang out, followed by the sickening sound of magma corroding flesh.
The serpent's enormous head was struck by a magma fist and exploded on the spot.
Magma ate away at the creature's flesh.
The serpent stopped moving entirely, no longer thrashing, and floated silently on the surface of the sea.
The survivors, now without a mount, could only stare in horror at the sky and sea around them.
In the heavens, blood-red burning clouds stretched endlessly.
Magma fists tore through the cloud layer one by one, falling into the sea with thick black smoke—like a meteor shower at the end of the world.
In the water.
Countless bubbles erupted. The sea churned and boiled violently.
Numerous marine creatures floated lifelessly to the surface, like a scene from hell.
"That's....!!!!!!"
"Run!"
"Quick.....!!!!!!"
BOOM!
Szz—! Szz—! Szz—!...
A magma fist fell from the sky and landed right in the middle of the group.
The one who noticed it could only cry out a warning before it struck and exploded. Silence followed.
Erinsna, slammed into the water, covered her entire body in Haki and swam upwards.
"RAWWWR—!"
A deep, ancient roar echoed through the sea, laced with panic.
The waters grew even more turbulent as a massive force surged upward.
Erinsna struggled to stabilize herself and looked in terror at the enormous shadow below, fleeing toward the distance.
But the shadow grew with frightening speed—within the blink of an eye, it filled her entire field of vision.
She stared at the onrushing darkness, her eyes full of despair and bitter unwillingness...
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
Covered in magma burns, a super-giant Sea King the size of a small island broke through the ocean surface.
Tsunamis hundreds of meters high surged outward.
RAWWWR!!!!!!
The ancient and primeval cry rang out again, tinged with fear.
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A deafening roar shook the heavens as the colossal figure dove back into the sea, fleeing into the distance...
After who knows how many sunrises and sunsets, the cloudless sea was calm once more.
A few seagulls occasionally passed by, peaceful and content.
Only the countless scorched corpses of marine life on the surface bore silent witness to the apocalyptic devastation that had taken place here not long ago...
...
Edge waters of the Calm Belt.
After several days of emergency repairs, the warship had recovered.
"Sakazuki-sama."
"The engine room has been fully repaired."
The adjutant reported to the figure in the Justice cloak standing at the bow.
