Chapter 364: Kaido and Big Mom Arrives

Marine Headquarters.

Nearly every marine in Marineford, inside or outside, was drawn by the massive commotion around the island.

All the marines stared in shock at the colossal creatures encircling them.

Surrounded by such enormous, terrifying Sea Kings, their sense of security plummeted to nothing.

Though they had numerous cannons in the fortress and warships at their disposal, these offered no comfort against the sheer number of towering beasts.

No one dared fire, fearing they would provoke the giants into smashing the island to ruins.

"Is this your demon clan's trump card? Have you found the ancient weapon Poseidon?"

Kong turned to Dark Night, floating silently nearby, and asked in a grave tone.

"Ancient weapon Poseidon? Of course not. These Sea Kings serve under Lord Kujira, an Apostle who can command them!"

Dark Night replied.

It wasn't a secret worth hiding. This operation was meant to awe the world and reclaim the demon clan's prestige after their setback against Evil King Hisoka.

The Sea Kings' might was an unmatched deterrent.

The Calm Belt teemed with them, if they could be controlled, it would intimidate the entire world.

Even the Marine and World Government weren't exempt; this force was too vast.

If all the Calm Belt's Sea Kings attacked human-inhabited islands, it would be an apocalyptic disaster.

Of course, Kujira couldn't truly command every Sea King, only those he had personally tamed would obey.

For Kujira, having enough minions sufficed; it lacked the energy to subdue every Sea King in the Calm Belt.

Kong, naturally, didn't know this.

He only saw the Sea Kings around Marineford glaring at the island without further action after surfacing.

This convinced him their presence was no coincidence.

The demon clan could indeed control Sea Kings, this was bad.

Apostle Kujira? That whale-like Apostle wielded such power?

Kong didn't fully trust Dark Night's words, but the fact they could manipulate Sea Kings was undeniable.

Going forward, the Apostles would be a massive headache, they held a table-flipping ability.

Using Marineford as a threat now, could they threaten all humanity's safety later?

If they wanted to target an Apostle, Kujira would be the top priority.

How many Sea Kings could he control?

"It's really terrifying. It looks like we can't go support them now, huh?"

Among the officers, Kizaru drawled lazily, eyeing the menacing Sea Kings around the island.

As eyes turned to him, Kong felt the pressure mount. Whether King could protect Marineford from so many Sea Kings was beyond his knowledge.

For safety, he decided to monitor the Holy Land's intel and hold off, trusting the World Government wasn't that fragile.

At the same time, they have to strategize a solution.

The enemy aimed to stall marine support with the Sea Kings, now it was up to the Marines to deal with them.

His gaze settled on Esdeath and Kuzan.

Marijoa.

At one location, Sengoku led marine forces to hold back rampaging demons, with Vice Admiral Akainu at his side.

For this Reverie, the Five Elders had wanted Sengoku and White Phoenix Esdeath to guard the Holy Land.

But Esdeath couldn't be budged.

In her words, she had "zero interest."

The Five Elders couldn't force her, they needed to court this powerful asset.

Plus, Esdeath had Sword Saint Yachiru backing her.

Unless it was something egregious, they didn't want to cross this domineering woman.

"This fog is a pain. It's hard to fight freely, and those demons are just as troublesome."

Sengoku directed the Marines, groping through the blinding white mist.

The fog drastically cut visibility, hampering everyone defending the Holy Land.

Not everyone had Observation Haki, and their foes were the eerie demons.

For the strong, these restrictions are significant.

During combat, it feels like their hands and feet are tied; they have to constantly worry about affecting their own allies.

"Dissipated?"

Suddenly, Sengoku noticed the white mist clearing.

The entire scene of the Holy Land Marijoa came back into view for everyone.

Soon, the guards and marines of Marijoa spotted many of their comrades lying on the ground, as well as others still locked in battle.

Most importantly—

They finally got a clear view of their enemies.

Those eerie demons, capable of ignoring gunfire and ordinary swords, numbered nearly ten thousand.

This realization shattered the morale of many guards fighting the demons.

"There are that many of them?"

Sengoku, observing the demons, felt a twinge of alarm.

These demons shared a common trait: they could shrug off bullets and regular blades, making them a nightmare for ordinary guards untrained in Haki.

"Wororororo! Here I am, this grand war!"

A thunderous laugh that shook the skies echoed through the air, a familiar sound that made Sengoku's expression darken.

He jerked his head up and immediately spotted a massive dragon soaring through the sky.

That dragon, he knew it all too well. Kaido of the Beasts. That man was joining this massive event too? Was it because of the Apostles? Then what about Big Mom, Charlotte Linlin?

Sengoku couldn't help but recall the ship from Big Mom's crew, recently spotted gathering cakes at Fishman Island.

"Mamamama! I never thought the demons would actually invade Marijoa, it's really interesting!"

As Sengoku pondered, Big Mom's figure indeed appeared.

She stepped on a cloud, wielding a massive cleaver, with a small sun by her side, flying not far from Kaido.

Sengoku watched their arrival, momentarily speechless.

Two of the Four Emperors had teamed up.

Were they truly following the demons' orders, or just here to fish in troubled waters?

"Dragon Breath!"

"Damn it!"

Seeing Kaido dive in without hesitation, preparing to unleash a Dragon Breath across the battlefield, Sengoku leapt into action, calling for Akainu to follow.

Boom!

A blinding flare lit up Marijoa's sky as Kaido's Dragon Breath roared forth.

Sengoku used Conqueror's haki Coating and clashed head-on with the thick pillar of fire. After a brief stalemate, he overpowered it, shattering the massive flame into countless sparks. This averted what could have been a catastrophic disaster.

As Sengoku dispersed the fire, Akainu launched a 'Great Eruption' at Big Mom.

"Don't underestimate me, lava brat!"

Facing Akainu's giant molten fist, Big Mom swung Napoleon, infused with Conqueror's Haki, clashing with his 'Great Eruption'.

A massive shockwave swept downward.

Their collision shattered trees and boulders on the streets below, cracking nearby buildings until they collapsed.

Big Mom's strike ultimately proved superior, scattering the lava like raindrops that scalded guards and marines alike, leaving them crying out in pain.

Sengoku watched helplessly. He meant Sakazuki to guard against a sneak attack from Big Mom, not engage her directly.

But now wasn't the time to reprimand him.

Sengoku and Akainu stood side by side as Kaido descended, reverting to human form, and Big Mom leapt off her cloud, landing beside him.

The two sides faced off in a tense standoff.
