After successfully bringing Going Merry to level 25, Red finally found time to focus on advancing the main storyline.

This was also the source of his confidence to challenge Crocodile single-handedly with only himself and Robin!

After defeating the Team Rocket members on the first floor, Red and Robin had just reached the top floor of the Silph Co. building through a special teleportation device when they encountered a dispute between Giovanni and the Silph Co. President.

Looking at the game's cutscene playing out before them, Red quickly calculated:

"There are nearly three hours of game time left today. It will take about half an hour to defeat Giovanni and then visit the Pokémon Center..."

"The remaining time should be enough for Robin and me to challenge Sabrina at the Saffron Gym!"

Red complained mentally, then immediately called out to Robin:

"Dodge it, Robin!"

In fact, Red's reminder wasn't necessary. Robin, already aware of how devastating this attack could be, had activated Teleport and avoided Rhydon's powerful attack!

The three effects of the Master Ball were displayed one by one before Red.

In a gym filled with colorful neon lights, seemingly built atop a city building.

"To prove your victory, this Marsh Badge is yours!"

The Saffron Gym Leader, Sabrina, presented a golden badge resembling a circular coin to Red.

Along with it came a brand new Technical Machine.

"And this, as a reward for defeating me, is also yours!"

As Sabrina finished speaking, a notification message flashed before Red's eyes:
