"Too strong!"
Although his first attempt hadn't been perfect, Red felt incredibly excited about the results. After all, they were currently in the hinterland of the Alabasta Kingdom!
His Hyperspace Hole move had allowed him to teleport outside this supercontinent in one go, demonstrating its terrifying range.
"Apart from the Red Line in the pirate world, there are probably few islands larger than Alabasta!" Red thought to himself. "This means that even if I'm unexpectedly separated from my friends in the future, as long as my spiritual power covers a wide enough area, I can gather everyone together instantly!"
"Eh!? Wait a minute..." He paused, scratching his head in confusion, feeling something was off.
"Why is it that when I get a god-level move that's excellent for both mobility and attacks, my first thought is to use it for support?!"
"Is it possible I've become so immersed in my identity as a support that I can't think otherwise?!"
...
...
Under the puzzled looks of the agents and Robin, the fulfilling night quickly passed.
Early the next morning, walking on ground baked by the scorching sun that burned their feet, Red's group finally arrived at Alabasta Kingdom's largest entertainment venue—Rain Dinners!
Although Alabasta was vast, most of its territory consisted of desert areas with little utility value. In this country, a city possessing the three characteristics of sufficient water sources, large population, and convenient transportation routes—apart from Alubarna, the kingdom's capital—was solely the city that Crocodile had occupied and transformed: Rain Dinners.
The situation was truly ridiculous! Despite being an important economic center for the entire kingdom, neither the king's army nor the royally-appointed officials had any control over this city. They could only stand by and watch as Crocodile ruled imperiously, bringing his so-called "blessing."
Combined with Crocodile's status as a Shichibukai and his occasional pirate-cleaning activities in surrounding cities, King Cobra not only harbored no suspicions but was actually pleased to have such a "heroic figure" in his country.
All one could say was that Cobra was kind and compassionate toward his people. But as a country's ruler, his naivety was the fundamental reason why Alabasta had fallen into its current predicament.
If not for the Straw Hat Pirates descending like divine soldiers in the original timeline, this country would have already experienced a regime change.
As for whether the World Government, upon learning this news, would take action or provide support to this member of one of the Twenty Royal Families—that remained unknown.
...
...
"Is this the place?" Red asked.
After dismissing all the agents, under Robin's guidance, Red arrived at the entrance of Crocodile's enormous casino—Rain Dinners.
As the massive glass doors opened, a cool breeze completely different from the outside world rushed toward them.
Despite water resources being scarce enough to start wars, the center of Rain Dinners featured a huge fountain continuously humidifying the arid air.
Dealers moved about wearing various cool and attractive outfits, carrying drink trays as they weaved among gamblers with flushed faces and high spirits.
"Beautiful dealers, dealing cards," Red observed. "As expected of a place where the wealthy spend their time."
Although he'd seen many grand scenes in movies and TV shows, witnessing such luxury with his own eyes made him sigh inwardly with appreciation.
"Mr. Vice Captain, this way," Robin called, pulling Red's attention away from the well-endowed women.
After all, they had important business to conduct today!
"Manager!!!"
Red and Robin entered the staff area of Rain Dinners.
When the employees spotted Robin, they immediately straightened up nervously and greeted her respectfully.
Thanks to Crocodile's reclusive nature and his inability to determine the reason for Robin's disappearance, the Rain Dinners staff still showed great deference to her.
Relying on Robin's face recognition, the pair moved smoothly through the facility and soon arrived at the casino's core area—Crocodile's exclusive office!
Tap... tap... tap... tap...
Red and Robin descended the dimly lit staircase, continuing downward.
After the first few dozen steps, the space suddenly opened up!
A bright, enormous office appeared before Red's eyes.
The walls on both sides of the office connected to a vast underground river. Through the thick glass windows, large, vicious crocodiles could be seen swimming past occasionally.
"What a magnificent office!" Red exclaimed with genuine admiration before turning his gaze straight ahead.
"Wouldn't you agree, Sir Crocodile?"
Bang... bang... bang... bang...
A slow, heavy applause suddenly echoed through the room.
The chair facing away from Red gradually turned around, revealing a scarred face with a cigar clenched between his teeth and a gloomy expression.
"I didn't expect you to choose betrayal at this particular time," Crocodile said coldly.
He didn't look at Red initially, instead fixing Robin with a fierce stare.
Although he had prepared himself long before Robin lost contact, when she brought a stranger directly into the office through a secret passage known only to the two of them, Crocodile's heart couldn't help but ignite with instant fury!
They were so close—about to complete their plan and discover the core secrets of Alabasta Kingdom.
How could Crocodile possibly swallow this bitter pill peacefully?
But facing his anger, Robin, who had decided to join the Straw Hat Pirates, displayed her trademark smile:
"People go where they prosper, water flows to the lowest point," she said coolly. "I believe as a former boss, you'll wish us well, right?"
"Wish you well?!" Crocodile sneered, his eyes incredibly dark. "How dare you say that!"
"As expected from the Devil's Child, infamous for betrayal in the underground world."
"You're right, I should have anticipated this day."
"I just don't understand..."
BANG!
Crocodile suddenly slapped three bounty posters onto the table.
They were the bounties for the three strongest fighters of the Straw Hat Pirates!
Crocodile continued with a sneer:
"Surely you're not so naive as to think they have a better future than me just because their bounties are higher than mine?!"
"I'm truly curious... what conditions could make you choose betrayal at this moment?"
Crocodile shifted his gaze to Red:
"If my information is correct, you must be Red, the vice captain of the Straw Hat Pirates?!"
"You dared to break in here alone—truly a newborn calf unafraid of tigers!"
"So... can you answer my question?!"
"Of course!!!" Red stepped forward with a smile, looking directly at the Shichibukai, and then suddenly raised his hand.
"This is... the answer you want!!!"
"Surf!!!!"
BOOM!!!
Under Crocodile's puzzled and shocked eyes, the heavy glass windows of the luxurious office suddenly trembled violently.
The next moment, countless cracks appeared on the glass walls like spider webs.
Crack... crack...
As broken glass fragments fell to the floor, two mighty waves under Red's control suddenly broke through the glass walls and struck directly at the horrified Crocodile!
"YOU!!! What are you doing?!" The panicked Crocodile shouted, his body immediately transforming into sand as he flew toward the secret passage.
However...
How could Red, who had already learned the office layout from Robin, give him such an opportunity?
Before the Surf attack from both sides could completely enter the room, he stretched out his arms again and shouted toward the secret passage entrance:
"Hyperspace Hole!!!"
WHOOSH——
A mysterious light spot suddenly bloomed in the air.
Just as Crocodile registered confusion, endless seawater instantly gushed from the hyperspace hole like a high-pressure water cannon.
"What?!"
"Gulululu~..."
The unprepared Crocodile crashed into the waves and immediately choked on a large mouthful of water.
His Suna Suna no Mi ability was instantly neutralized, revealing his true form as he was washed back to Red's feet by the waves.
"Sorry, Mr. Shichibukai, but it seems..." Red's face broke into a smile of victory, "you can't escape!"
To be honest, although he had rehearsed this moment countless times in his mind, it exceeded his expectations to neutralize Crocodile's Devil Fruit ability so smoothly.
As for answering Crocodile's question? Was he kidding?
Red wasn't a character in a movie or anime! Did Crocodile expect them to exchange trash talk before battle?
After finally trapping such a capable opponent within this confined space, he had to seize his opportunity to directly neutralize the Logia user's abilities!
BOOM!!!
At that moment, the waves from both sides suddenly burst through the sturdy glass windows and rushed into the office like ravenous beasts.
Seeing this, Red extended his arm to Robin and grasped her delicate hand.
Then he pressed his other hand on Crocodile's body.
Instantly!
A massive Hyperspace Hole suddenly appeared beneath the three of them.
A second before the waves surged to their location, they vanished from the office.
The rushing seawater quickly filled Crocodile's office before continuing to flood the building's upper floors.
The entire Rain Dinners Casino suddenly shook violently.
All staff and gamblers momentarily froze in confusion, looking curiously at the trembling ground beneath their feet.
"What's happening?!"
"Is it an earthquake?"
Fear appeared on everyone's faces.
The next moment...
Terrifying waves rushed directly from the staff passage, instantly sweeping across the casino's entire first floor. Gamblers and their wealth were carried out to the street outside Rain Dinners.
The flood also brought a small measure of coolness to the hot, dry climate...
