One Piece: My code name is Green Bull

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Katakuri

Two young men stood at the front of the ship.

They both looked to be around twenty years old, but their appearances and auras were completely different.

The man on the left wore a top hat adorned with lollipops. He was over three meters tall, had a slender frame, a long nose, and a tongue that stuck out unnaturally far. He carried a candy cane staff, giving off an aura of sinister cruelty.

The man on the right was towering, standing at nearly five meters tall. He had short, crimson hair and a muscular build.

His left arm and upper torso were covered in pink tattoos, and he wore black gloves and a spiked arm ring on his left arm. A scarf wrapped around his neck, covering his mouth.

These two were none other than Charlotte Perospero and Charlotte Katakuri, the eldest and second son of BIG MOM, Charlotte Linlin.

Surrounding them were other members of the BIG MOM Pirates, all awaiting their orders.

"The Navy?"

Perospero frowned, his expression darkening.

"So that cowardly King of Loz actually went behind our backs and called for Marine reinforcements? Dammit, we can't let him get away with this!"

Katakuri crossed his arms and spoke coldly:

"Even if it's the Navy, they can't stop us. We must return with the sweets—Mother is waiting for them."

"Then… should we just kill all of these Marines?"

Despite being the eldest, Perospero knew full well that Katakuri was far stronger than him.

Even as the older brother, he had to acknowledge his younger brother's superiority—within the crew, Katakuri's status was even higher than his own.

Katakuri replied icily:

"Anyone who dares stand in our way—kill them."

Perospero let out a twisted, eerie laugh.

"You're absolutely right. Mother's sweets are what matter most. If these Marines have come to die, we might as well grant their wish!"

Ordinary pirates might hesitate upon seeing the Navy, but not the BIG MOM Pirates—they were all ruthless criminals.

And as Charlotte Linlin's sons, Perospero and Katakuri were especially arrogant.

Even against the Navy, they showed no fear whatsoever.

"Charge ahead! Kill them all!"

Meanwhile, on the shore—

"Commander Jon! The BIG MOM Pirates are rapidly approaching! Do we engage?"

Jon's voice was cold and firm:

"Once they get within range—open fire immediately."

"Shooting first? Is that really a good idea?"

Pemberton hesitated at Jon's order.

"I think we should try negotiating first. If we can pressure them into leaving, that would be ideal. If that fails, we can fight then."

"Whoa, are you actually this naive?"

Jiaji sneered, shaking his head at Pemberton's wishful thinking.

White added, "Forget about negotiations. Even if we want to talk, they won't give us the chance."

Jon didn't waste time debating.

"Jiaji, Nion—get everyone ready. Do not let the BIG MOM Pirates land so easily!"

Neither side hesitated—they were both prepared for an all-out battle.

"OPEN FIRE!"

The moment the pirate ship entered firing range, both the Marines on the shore and the pirates on the ship opened fire simultaneously.

"BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Gunfire filled the air.

That said, the firearm technology in this world was still very primitive—no scopes, limited range, and poor accuracy.

At this distance (several hundred meters), an average soldier would be lucky to hit one shot out of ten.

Only trained snipers stood a real chance of landing consistent shots.

Still, Jon refused to sit back and do nothing.

He had no idea how many BIG MOM Pirates had arrived, but he knew one thing for sure:

They could NOT be allowed to reach the shore.

Katakuri Takes Action

Standing at the front of the deck, Katakuri watched the Marines with disdain.

Despite his young age, he was already incredibly arrogant.

Among the younger generation, he had never met a worthy opponent.

Even against the Navy, he saw no threat.

But suddenly—

His expression shifted.

His head snapped downward, eyes locked onto the sea beneath the ship.

And then—

Something horrifying happened.

From the ocean floor, massive green algae and aquatic plants suddenly erupted, growing at an alarming speed.

Thick, vine-like sea plants wrapped around the hull, gripping the ship.

The entire ship shuddered, its speed plummeting.

Many pirates stumbled, caught off guard by the sudden jolt.

"What the hell?! Why are there so many plants in the water?!"

Perospero was shocked, staring at the massive tangle of vegetation now ensnaring their ship.

"It has to be the Navy."

Katakuri's voice was ice-cold:

"Cut them down. Now."

The pirates immediately sprang into action, hacking away at the rapidly growing plants that were threatening to immobilize their ship.

Jon's Power Revealed

On the shore, Pemberton turned to Jon in astonishment.

"Jon, your ability has gotten even stronger! You can control underwater plants from this far away?!"

Pemberton knew a bit about Jon's powers, but seeing this from such a long distance was beyond his expectations.

Even the other Marine officers—who had never witnessed Jon's ability before—were stunned.

"So this is Commander Jon's power? Unbelievable…"

Only Gion and Pemberton had been aware of Jon's abilities before.

The rest had no idea—and were visibly shaken by what they were witnessing.

Jon, however, remained focused.

"This isn't the time to talk about that. I've already sensed several strong auras on that ship. They're just as powerful as we are—maybe even stronger. This is going to be a tough fight. Be ready."

Jon's Observation Haki functioned like a radar—it was nearly impossible for someone to hide their life force from him.

A powerful life force didn't always mean strength, but in most cases, the stronger the aura, the deadlier the opponent.

The sea plants had successfully stalled the ship for a moment, but the pirates worked fast—they had already cleared most of the vegetation.

Jon didn't bother trying to restrain them any longer.

Even though he could continue growing plants from afar, the effort would drain him quickly.

More importantly—

Even his plants wouldn't be enough to take down the BIG MOM Pirates.

From the very beginning, Jon had never planned to trap them at sea—his goal was simply to buy time.

Because his power was far deadlier on land.

As the enemy ship broke free, Jon suddenly crouched down, placing both hands on the ground.

Instantly—

Dozens of massive trees sprouted along the shoreline, growing at astonishing speed.

Within seconds, they had reached towering heights.

"HISS—!"

Many Marines gasped at the sight.

"He just… grew an entire forest in seconds…"

Even the battle-hardened officers—like Jiaji—were stunned.

Back at the Loz Kingdom palace, Jon had only grown one large tree.

But compared to this—

That had been nothing.

Jon stood up, dusting off his hands.

"Preparations are complete."

"Let's see if the BIG MOM Pirates can make it past this."
