One Piece: My code name is Green Bull

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Observation Haki Showdown

"Conqueror's Haki!"

Jon's expression darkened. Among the three types of Haki, Conqueror's Haki might not be the most practical, but it was undoubtedly the most prestigious. Every person who possessed it was an extraordinary individual, a legend in the making.

He had encountered Conqueror's Haki users before, but today was the first time he had truly experienced its overwhelming force.

It was a power that struck at the soul, a sheer aura of dominance. Those with weak wills would be instantly stunned, or worse, lose consciousness entirely.

Jon had always hoped to awaken this ability himself, but it had never manifested. At this point, he had given up expecting it.

While Conqueror's Haki didn't suppress him personally, watching Katakuri knock out so many of his men infuriated him.

"Flying Finger Gun!"

Jon extended his finger and fired an air bullet, traveling faster than a conventional bullet and rushing toward Katakuri in an instant.

Katakuri, with his exceptional Observation Haki, effortlessly dodged the attack.

However, what he didn't realize was—

Jon's Flying Finger Gun was not like the others.

The moment the air bullet exploded, a tiny green seed emerged from its center.

Within seconds, the seed rapidly expanded into a bamboo shoot, which then burst open like a porcupine, shooting out multiple sharp bamboo spikes in all directions.

Caught off guard, Katakuri was struck in several places, and blood dripped from the wounds.

Jon had successfully injured Katakuri with a single move.

But instead of excitement, Jon simply exhaled in relief.

"Looks like his Observation Haki hasn't reached the level of future sight yet. That makes things much easier."

The Flying Finger Gun Bamboo Piercer had been a test to gauge Katakuri's ability.

Since the bamboo spikes managed to hit him, it meant that Katakuri's Observation Haki wasn't yet at the level of predicting the future.

Without that ability, Jon had the upper hand.

In terms of pure Observation Haki strength, Jon believed his abilities were even sharper than Katakuri's.

Katakuri's expression darkened.

He had never lost a fight—never even been seriously injured before.

And now, a Marine officer around his own age had managed to wound him with a single attack.

"I'm going to kill you."

Most people would say that out of rage, but Katakuri's voice was cold, emotionless—as if simply stating a fact.

"Mochi Drill!"

Katakuri activated his Mochi-Mochi Fruit powers, splitting his leg into multiple mochi tendrils, each one launching forward in a rapid kicking attack.

The ground shattered from the impact, sending stone debris flying in all directions.

Yet Jon dodged every single strike, as if he had foreseen them all in advance.

Katakuri wasn't in a hurry—he continued attacking, using his flexible mochi limbs to keep up the pressure.

His ability was strikingly similar to Luffy's, both relying on elasticity.

The key difference was—

Luffy stretched his own body, while Katakuri manipulated mochi extensions of his body for his attacks.

Jon wasn't content with just dodging.

As he moved, the massive trees around him came to life, their branches twisting like countless tentacles, lashing toward Katakuri.

Some of these branches were coated in Armament Haki—if they hit, even a Logia-like user like Katakuri wouldn't be able to phase through them.

Meanwhile, the battle across the coastline intensified.

With cannon fire providing cover, the BIG MOM Pirates' ship finally reached the shore, and hordes of pirates rushed onto the beach.

The Marines stood their ground, raising their weapons and charging into the fight—a full-scale battle erupted instantly.

Jon's forces only numbered 800, while the BIG MOM Pirates had a slightly larger force, but both sides clashed with ferocity.

"Kill them!"

For Marines and Pirates, there was no mercy—they were sworn enemies.

The moment they clashed, both sides fought with brutal intensity, each warrior determined to slaughter their foe.

Jiaji, Pemberton, and the other Marine officers all engaged the BIG MOM Pirates' commanders, ensuring that no one on either side had time to rest.

The entire coastline had transformed into a blood-soaked battlefield.

Not far from the battle, in the Loz Kingdom's capital, King Loz and his men watched from a safe distance.

They had no intention of joining the fight to aid the Marines—

But they were still highly invested in the outcome, as it would determine the fate of their nation.

"Your Majesty, the battle has begun!"

Hearing this, Prince Loz immediately asked, "Who's winning?"

"It's too early to tell. Judging by the scale of the battle, it'll take some time before we see a decisive victor."

King Loz sighed in relief.

"At least these Marines aren't completely useless. Let's hope they can hold off the BIG MOM Pirates."

Prince Loz, however, scoffed.

"Father, even if they hold them off this time, what about the next time? BIG MOM herself hasn't shown up yet. If she comes here personally, what are we supposed to do then?"

King Loz's expression darkened.

That was exactly what he feared most.

Unless the BIG MOM Pirates were eliminated entirely, the Loz Kingdom would never be safe.

"In the end, the Navy is unreliable. The New World is growing more chaotic, and they simply aren't strong enough to protect us. I'm going to contact the Five Elders and demand that they send reinforcements."

The Loz Kingdom wasn't a major world power, but they paid a hefty tribute to the World Government.

This gave them some influence, allowing them to request direct assistance from the Five Elders.

Their current Marine reinforcements had been arranged through the Five Elders' orders—

But King Loz was disappointed.

The Marines hadn't sent a strong enough force.

"This is ridiculous. They sent this meager force and expect us to hold out? They're just leaving us to die!"

One of the King's ministers hesitated before asking, "Your Majesty, are we really going to just sit here and watch? If we don't assist them and the Marines are wiped out, we'll have to explain ourselves later."

Prince Loz coldly dismissed the concern.

"Why should we care? They overestimated themselves. We can't let them drag us down with them."

Many of the Kingdom's officials frowned.

The Marines might have sent fewer troops than expected, but that didn't change the fact that they were risking their lives to defend the Loz Kingdom.

Yet now, the royal family was hiding instead of fighting.

No one dared to speak against the King, but the disgust in their hearts was evident.

Back on the battlefield, the most unpredictable fight was Jon vs. Katakuri.

Their attacks were incredibly destructive, shaking the battlefield with each exchange—

But neither could land a clean hit on the other.

After several minutes of combat, Jon realized something unsettling—

Aside from his first attack, which had wounded Katakuri, none of his attacks had landed since.

Even when his branches formed an inescapable cage, Katakuri dodged every strike.

On the other hand, Katakuri's fierce attacks never touched Jon either.

He evaded them effortlessly, as if he had predicted every move in advance.

Two masters of Observation Haki—locked in a battle of precision and foresight.

The result?

A fight so fluid, so elusive, and so bizarre that neither side could land a decisive blow.
