One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 72: Chapter 72: The Dove-Dove Fruit and the Rooster-Rooster Fruit Users

"Looks like they've arrived!"

"Jack, tell your crew to move forward a bit. I'm going to use my ability to trap those two!"

"Oh?"

Before Jack could respond, Rim had already relayed the order. Jack followed Doflamingo and took a few steps forward. Up until now, he hadn't sensed the presence of those two individuals. Judging by Rim's reaction, he hadn't noticed them either. It seemed that Doflamingo's Observation Haki was even more powerful than Rim's.

Moreover...

Thinking about the abilities of those two, Jack asked curiously, "Hey, Doflamingo, how are you going to handle them?"

"Fufufufu, patience, Jack. You'll see soon enough!" Doflamingo chuckled sinisterly. "To me, they're just birds in a cage."

"They're getting closer," Jack noted, sensing with his Observation Haki a group of people approaching. He quickly leaped onto the deck. Doflamingo gave him a curious glance but said nothing.

Rim stood nearby, his eyes bloodshot with excitement. Years of carrying the weight of vengeance would finally come to an end today.

"Torrebol! We're not happy with the Donquixote Family this time!" a man wearing suspenders and with a delicate appearance complained impatiently. Beside him stood a flamboyantly dressed man whose outfit made even Doflamingo's look subtle by comparison. His coat, made of multicolored feathers, looked like a pair of vibrant wings.

"It took you this long to deliver the weapons! If the Beast Pirates weren't refusing to supply us anymore, we wouldn't even bother trading with you!"

"Captain Ostec and Captain Lynstan, our apologies!" Torrebol said with a nervous laugh. "How about this: from now on, all weapons trades with the Donquixote Family will be free of charge."

Ostec, the man in suspenders, looked at him in disbelief. "What? Are you joking?"

The flamboyantly dressed Lynstan chuckled softly, "Kakaka... Are you messing with us? If you're so generous, then we shouldn't have to pay for this batch either."

"Behihihi..." Torrebol adjusted his glasses and grinned. "You're absolutely right! I am joking! Behihihi, just playing around with you!"

"You bastard!" Ostec roared in anger.

Torrebol leaped forward, taunting them. Lynstan, who had a fiery temper, immediately chased after him. Seeing this, Ostec signaled his men to follow as well. However, after they passed through the forest and reached the port, Ostec suddenly stopped. Standing beside Lynstan, his expression turned grave as he looked ahead.

"You... you're Rim!"

Seeing Rim before him, Ostec felt a sinking feeling in his chest. He quickly glanced at the port. Lynstan's pirate ship was gone, and his own ship was eerily silent. Most importantly, the pirate insignia on the ship before him—and the crew standing behind Rim—belonged to the Beast Pirates!

"Ostec! Lynstan! You devils! You didn't expect me to survive, did you?" Rim bellowed, his voice full of rage. "Not only am I alive, but I've joined the Beast Pirates! Today, your lives are mine!"

Lynstan stepped forward, sneering. "If Kaido himself came, or maybe King or Queen, we might actually consider running. But just you? Hah! Are you here to throw your life away?"

Unlike Lynstan's arrogant demeanor, Ostec grabbed his arm and whispered, "That ship with the mammoth figurehead? That's Jack's ship—one of the Beast Pirates' All-Stars. He's not someone we can handle. And the Donquixote Family is here too. This is a trap!"

"So what's the plan?" Lynstan asked, lowering his voice.

"We'll fight to buy time, abandon the ships, and retreat. I'll pull us out when the moment comes."

Lynstan nodded, and Ostec turned to shout, "Men! Attack!"

"Hahaha! Kill them all!" his crew roared, charging forward. The Beast Pirates, led by excited Fish-Men, rushed to meet them, and chaos erupted.

Amid the melee, Ostec and Lynstan began to retreat. In a flash, Ostec transformed into a giant dove, grabbing Lynstan and taking to the skies.

"Bang!"

Suddenly, Doflamingo appeared mid-air and kicked them back down. Threads shot from his hands, slicing through the sky and creating an inescapable barrier.

From the deck of the mammoth ship, Jack shouted, "Move the ship closer!" He brandished his spiked kanabo, observing the descending threads with interest.

"Birdcage, huh?" Jack muttered, glancing at Ostec in his dove form. "Pretty fitting. But what kind of Devil Fruit is this? String?"

"Thwack!"

Jack casually grabbed an unlucky pirate and threw him into the threads, watching as the body was shredded into pieces. He raised an eyebrow. "That's freakishly sharp. If an ordinary person ate this fruit, would they just become a tailor? This guy's creativity and talent are insane."

Ostec, still in his dove form, landed beside Lynstan. Both glared at Doflamingo furiously.

"Doflamingo! You bastard! As an ally, how dare you betray us?"

"Fufufu, don't put it like that," Doflamingo said with a smirk, adjusting his glasses. "The Donquixote Family is allied with the Beast Pirates too. And when alliances overlap, the stronger side dictates the terms. But don't worry, I'm just here to trap you. Someone else will deal with you."

As Ostec and Lynstan seethed with rage, Doflamingo laughed louder.

"Fufufu! Don't give me that look. If you want to blame someone, blame yourselves for being weak!"

"Boom!"

A massive mammoth slammed into the ground beside the pair. Ostec flapped his wings, trying to take off again, but Jack's trunk grabbed Lynstan and slammed him into the ground.

"Bang!"

Lynstan, now transformed into a radiant, multicolored rooster, launched himself at Jack, his sharp beak aiming for the mammoth's thick hide. However, all he managed to leave was a faint white mark.

Jack looked down at him, unimpressed. "You're quite the pretty bird, aren't you? A chicken this big wouldn't even fit in one pot."

As he spoke, Jack's eyes gleamed with mockery. "Dove-Dove Fruit? Rooster-Rooster Fruit? You two should've gone into show business. What a waste."
