One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: Doflamingo’s Request

The Den Den Mushi was a truly fascinating creature. As soon as a call connected, it could mimic the general appearance of the person on the other end. Despite the lifelike nature of these images, they were entirely illusions.

These creatures, though living beings, could be bred both in captivity and in the wild. They needed regular feeding with vegetables and fruits. Prolonged neglect would result in their death. Like other living creatures, they could fall ill or be affected by the weather. The receivers and dials on their backs were artificially installed, a fact that left Jack utterly baffled.

No matter how much he tried, he couldn't figure out what made them so miraculous. Jack's numerous attempts at research killed several Den Den Mushi, which earned him countless beatings from Kaido and King. Eventually, he gave up.

After using the Den Den Mushi provided by King to call someone named Doflamingo, Jack watched as the image of a pink feather coat slowly faded from the creature's back. He muttered to himself,

"Man, that guy's outfit is flashy..."

The flamboyant attire and the name stirred something in Jack's memory.

Donquixote... Doflamingo... Wasn't he a popular character in something from my previous life?

Jack found himself regretting once again that he hadn't watched the anime in his past life.

"Donquixote... Doflamingo," he repeated aloud. "Loves pink, huh? Let's hope he's not a weirdo."

Meanwhile, the 200 newly recruited Fish-Men showed no fear at Jack's announcement that they were heading into battle. On the contrary, they seemed exhilarated. Jack nodded in satisfaction. Unlike the cowards back on Fish-Man Island, these Fish-Men were born to be pirates.

"Jack-sama! Up ahead... that's Twin Ridge Island!" Rim's voice was laced with excitement, and his body trembled slightly with anticipation. Jack, noticing this, patted him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry. I'll make sure you get to deal with those two personally," Jack assured him.

Master grasped Rim's hand with a worried look. Jack, feeling slightly awkward, quietly stepped aside. After circling the island, they found a hidden harbor. Several pirate ships were docked there, and Rim's eyes turned red with fury at the sight.

Before Jack could give the command, Rim launched himself into the air.

"Hey, Rim! Don't damage our allies! The pirates with the flamingo figurehead and pink decor are on our side!" Jack shouted.

"Got it, Jack-sama!" Rim called back, his sword already in hand. He sent a powerful slash towards one of the ships, destroying it before the crew could react. The pirates aboard were sent plunging into the sea along with the wreckage.

"Stop wrecking the ships! Those are valuable! Just kill the people!" Jack bellowed. "Destroying the ships is wasteful!"

"Understood!" Rim responded. He landed on another ship, and soon, screams of terror echoed from within.

By the time the Mammoth docked, Rim returned, blood dripping from his blade, looking every bit like a demon straight from the underworld.

Clap, clap, clap.

"Well done! Impressive! As expected of the Beasts Pirates—a single officer displays such incredible power!"

Rim turned to the voice. A man draped in a flamboyant pink feather coat, with red sunglasses and an air of dominance, approached alongside another man in a black suit, sunglasses, and a bow tie.

"Oh, so you're Donquixote Doflamingo?" Jack stepped forward to stand beside Rim. He scrutinized the man. Despite the ostentatious coat and flashy glasses, Doflamingo carried a unique charisma and presence that was far from effeminate.

No wonder he's such a popular character. His aura is something else, Jack thought.

While Jack was sizing him up, Doflamingo was doing the same, hiding his surprise. If Kaido hadn't accidentally revealed Jack's true age, Doflamingo wouldn't have believed that this imposing figure was just 14 years old.

Jack's towering height rivaled that of Diamante, standing well over five meters. Unlike Diamante's lean build, Jack was a mountain of muscle, radiating raw power. His flowing golden hair draped over his broad chest, giving him a wild and unrestrained air. His fierce, slightly unsettling eyes carried an unapproachable intensity.

What a beast, Doflamingo thought. No wonder Kaido holds him in such high regard. Though, he looks more like 40 than 14.

"I am Donquixote Doflamingo," he said, extending a hand. "Jack, it's a pleasure to meet you. This is my family member, Señor Pink. Welcome—"

Doflamingo's words trailed off as both he and Señor Pink turned their gazes to Master, who was using his abilities to cleanse the blood and grime off Rim.

"Pardon me, but this individual...?" Doflamingo's tone was unusually eager.

Jack's expression turned wary.

What are they doing? Don't tell me they're into Master? Just because he's got that pretty face doesn't mean... wait, do they know he's a guy?

"This is my subordinate, Master," Jack replied evenly.

"Master?" Doflamingo's excitement grew. "Was that a purification ability just now? Are you a Purification Fruit user?"

Master nodded cautiously, and Doflamingo's face lit up.

"Fantastic!" he exclaimed. Señor Pink even removed his sunglasses, staring intently at Master.

Doflamingo turned to Jack, his voice uncharacteristically earnest.

"I know this is sudden, but could you grant me a favor?"

"What favor?" Jack asked, narrowing his eyes. What's he plotting now? Don't tell me he wants our walking, talking purifier.

Doflamingo explained, "My family member here recently had a child, but the child contracted a strange illness. We've tried every doctor we could find, but none could help. A specialist suggested that only a Devil Fruit user with healing abilities might be able to save the child.

"I humbly ask for Master's help in treating my family's child. I will compensate you generously."

Jack blinked, feeling a twinge of guilt. So that's it. Here I was judging him for liking pink...

Clearing his throat, Jack called, "Master! You heard him. Go ahead. Do your best—we're counting on you!"

As Master followed Señor Pink to the child, Jack extended his hand to Doflamingo.

"This is a simple matter. As allies, there's no need to be so formal."

Doflamingo clasped Jack's hand firmly. "Even so, the Donquixote Family will never forget your kindness, Jack-sama."

"No need for formalities. Just call me Jack."

"And you can call me Doffy."

"Jack!"

"Doffy!"

"Fuffuffuffuffuffu!"

"Hahahahaha!"

This pink-loving flamingo enthusiast is pretty likable, Jack thought with a grin.
