Chapter 80: Chapter 80: "Burp..."
Aokiji's expression was one of pure confusion. Jack, after letting out an inexplicable roar, charged at him with his spiked club without warning.
He who had been intending to deal with Doflamingo, now found himself forced into combat with the rampaging mammoth. Meanwhile, Doflamingo breathed a small sigh of relief. Facing one of the Navy's three Admirals, especially one as formidable as Aokiji, was no easy task. But now that Jack had taken on the fight, Doflamingo's focus shifted to Vice Admiral Tsuru. If he could subdue her quickly and join Jack, victory might still be within reach.
"The Donquixote Family!" Tsuru declared, her voice sharp and commanding. "You have no way out of this!"
"And you, Doflamingo!" she continued, her steely gaze fixed on him. "Impel Down will be your final destination!"
Tsuru led a group of Navy soldiers into the fray, and the battlefield descended into chaos.
"Fwoosh!"
"Fuffuffuffuffuffu! Vice Admiral Tsuru, it seems you have the upper hand this time." Doflamingo's mocking laughter cut through the clamor as he evaded her relentless attacks.
"But tell me, I'm curious. Who tipped you off? Who provided you with the intel?"
Doflamingo's grin grew wider as he danced just out of Tsuru's reach. "At this point, you've clearly got the upper hand. Humor me."
"Enough of your nonsense, Doflamingo!" Tsuru snapped, showing no intention of revealing anything. Her silence elicited a disappointed sigh from Doflamingo.
When he spotted Buffalo and the younger family members engaging in the battle, Doflamingo's voice rang out sharply:
"Pica! Take the kids back to the chambers. Bring Rosinante with you! Protect them at all costs!"
"Understood, young master!" Pica responded, swiftly moving to carry out the order.
Tsuru didn't interfere, simply watching as the children retreated. She shook her head slightly before addressing Doflamingo.
"Those children show great potential," she said calmly. "Once I capture you, I'll see to it that they're trained to become exemplary Marines."
"Fuffuffuffu! That won't do, Vice Admiral Tsuru," Doflamingo replied, his tone dripping with venom. "Those children are my family."
"That's not up to you, Doflamingo!" Tsuru retorted, charging forward to engage him again. The two clashed fiercely, with no signs of either side giving in.
Jack, meanwhile, was not having an easy time. Aokiji had pushed the power of his Devil Fruit to terrifying extremes. Despite Jack's near-impervious defense, he couldn't shake off the deep cold that seeped into his body after being frozen repeatedly. Even for someone with the resilience of a Mammoth Zoan user, this fight was proving to be a challenge.
"This guy is no joke," Jack muttered, shivering slightly despite his monstrous stamina. He was used to shrugging off the harshest blizzards without batting an eye, yet Aokiji's icy assaults were beginning to take their toll.
On the other hand, Aokiji observed Jack with a flicker of curiosity.
"He's slow," Aokiji thought to himself. "His Observation Haki isn't particularly sharp, either. Otherwise, he wouldn't keep walking into my traps."
Still, there was no denying Jack's sheer durability. No matter how many times Aokiji froze or struck him, the giant mammoth pirate would brush it off like nothing happened.
"Looks like I'll have to step things up," Aokiji murmured, his expression hardening. Dodging Jack's next swing, he summoned two jagged spears of ice from the surrounding air.
"Ice Spear!"
The spears shot forward, piercing into Jack's chest with a resounding "shunk." A faint smile played across Aokiji's lips. But before he could savor the moment, Jack's massive hands closed around the spears, shattering them with a single flex of his muscles.
"Nice and chilly," Jack growled, his voice low and rumbling. He brushed at the small puncture wounds on his chest. "Ever thought about selling ice cream instead of playing Marine?"
Aokiji stared at him, deadpan. "Not a bad idea. But first, I'll need to round up every last one of you pirates."
The admiral exhaled sharply, forming a blade of ice in his hand.
He lunged forward, the ice blade clashing against Jack's spiked club with a metallic clang. Jack grunted under the force of the blow, realizing with dismay just how skilled Aokiji was, not only in utilizing his Devil Fruit powers but also in swordsmanship.
"This guy…" Jack muttered, his frustration mounting. Aokiji's overwhelming speed, precision, and mastery of Haki made him an almost flawless opponent. For the first time, Jack wondered if his infamous endurance and strength would be enough.
"C'mon, Doflamingo," Jack growled under his breath, casting a glance at his ally. "Hurry up and finish that old hag already!"
What he saw nearly made him spit blood. Doflamingo, wary of Tsuru's abilities, was keeping his distance, relying on his strings to attack from afar. Tsuru, despite her age, was relentlessly advancing, dodging and countering with the precision of a seasoned warrior. Doflamingo's retreat seemed never-ending.
Jack's frustration grew as he noticed Rim's group struggling against their opponents, locked in a stalemate. Even worse, the Navy foot soldiers were pummeling his Fishman subordinates. The sight was nothing short of absurd.
"What the hell? These are Fishmen!" Jack bellowed internally. "They're supposed to be ten times stronger than regular humans, and they're getting beaten by a bunch of women? Ridiculous!"
"Ice Ball!"
Aokiji's attack snapped Jack back to attention as he was encased in ice once more. This time, it took Jack considerable effort to break free. No sooner had he shattered the ice than a massive, lifelike bird of ice came hurtling toward him.
"Ice Pheasant Beak!"
"Boom!"
The attack struck with devastating force, penetrating Jack's thick hide and shattering his Armament Haki. The sheer power of the strike left his chest numb, and the icy tendrils seeping into his flesh triggered a sharp, searing pain.
"This guy…" Jack grunted, the anger in his eyes turning into a blazing inferno. He yanked his spiked club from his back, planting it into the ground as his body began to change. A massive mammoth emerged, its eyes glowing red with fury.
Jack charged at Aokiji, the ground trembling beneath his feet. But halfway through the charge, he skidded to a halt. Something in the sky had caught his attention.
The battlefield fell silent as everyone turned their gazes upward.
"What the hell is that?"
A colossal dragon, stretching over a hundred meters long, approached from the horizon. It hovered ominously, its golden eyes surveying the scene below. The faint stench of alcohol wafted down from the beast, causing Jack's triumphant grin to vanish.
"Burp..."
The dragon exhaled a gust of hot, wine-scented breath, and Jack's unease turned into outright dread.
"Heat Breath!"
"Oh, crap!" Jack cursed, his instincts screaming at him to move.
He knew it—this was going to be bad.
