One Piece: Rising to Fleet Admiral Through a Coup

Chapter 70: 《One Piece: Rising》Chapter 70: Love-Struck Brain Activated! Hancock's Bizarre Thought Process!

At the backyard well.

"This damned man... so infuriating, so infuriating!"

Standing by the backyard well, Gunshi grumbled under her breath as she used her Devil Fruit ability to lift two water-filled buckets with her bandages. Her face was a mask of irritation.

A member of the Holy Knights, Gunshi had been a prodigy since her teenage years, personally groomed by their leader, Gringusaint, and held in the highest regard. Forget about menial tasks like fetching water—back in the Holy Land, she had servants attending to her every need.

But ever since Xayuki, this infuriating man, had appeared, everything had changed.

Being blasted back to the Holy Land twice by his Conqueror's Haki was bad enough. Now, he had the audacity to make her fetch water!

Even if she weren't a member of the Holy Knights, she was still a woman! And yet, the Fleet Admiral had no qualms about making her do such demeaning chores. Did he have no sense of decency?

While Gunshi was busy grumbling, Boa Hancock, usually the epitome of arrogance and willfulness, was unusually silent.

The reason was simple: Gunshi was a member of the Holy Knights.

As someone who had been sold to the Holy Land by traffickers in her youth, Hancock was no stranger to the powerful and mysterious organization that was the Holy Knights.

Not only was she familiar with them, but she also knew that the Holy Knights were tasked with protecting the Celestial Dragons and maintaining their rule. Even more terrifying, their leader had the authority to judge and execute Celestial Dragons.

Yet now, this same Holy Knight was being ordered by Xayuki to fetch water.

What did this mean?

It meant that the era when Marine Admirals had to rush unconditionally to the aid of the Celestial Dragons whenever they were threatened was over.

It meant that as long as she could secure this man's protection, she would no longer have to fear the Celestial Dragons, who had haunted her memories and filled her with dread.

It meant she would no longer have to worry about the World Government using Amazon Lily to coerce her into doing things against her will.

So, the question was:

How could she win this man's protection?

Standing beside the two water buckets, Hancock's mind raced with fantasies. The more she thought about it, the faster her heart pounded, and her face grew increasingly flushed, as though she were running a fever.

Gunshi, still fuming, didn't notice the changes in Hancock's expression. Despite this being her first time fetching water, Gunshi wasn't weak. She skipped using the carrying pole altogether, lifting the two buckets with her hands and stomping toward the front yard, her resentment evident in every step.

Meanwhile, in the front yard, Xayuki, now freed from labor thanks to the addition of two "free laborers" in Hancock and Gunshi—and with Momonga having stolen his tasks—had no qualms about lounging under a parasol. Crossing his legs, he reclined leisurely.

"Buru-buru-buru~"

Just as he sat down, the Den Den Mushi on the nearby table rang.

"Fleet Admiral, are you there? It's Ain!"

Hearing this, Xayuki immediately grabbed the Den Den Mushi and got straight to the point. "Have you captured Weevil?"

"Yes, and Bakkin too!"

Ain's voice carried a hint of excitement. "Fleet Admiral, we might not make it back until tomorrow. The warship sustained some damage during Admiral Borsalino's battle with Weevil."

Xayuki nodded. "Leave the repairs to the maintenance crew traveling with you. Have Admiral Borsalino personally guard the mother and son. Don't let them escape!"

After ending the call with Ain, Xayuki placed the Den Den Mushi back on the table and leaned back in his chair, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.

The capture of Weevil and Bakkin was undoubtedly good news for the Marines.

But Xayuki wanted more.

Capturing Weevil was necessary to resolve Zephyr's lingering regrets and avenge the trainees who had died on the ill-fated training ship three years ago. However, he wanted to ensure that such tragedies would never happen again. To achieve this, he needed to send a clear message to the lawless pirates of the seas.

And the best way to do that was through a live broadcast—a public execution of Weevil and Bakkin.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Xayuki decisively stood up and walked toward the vegetable garden, where Sakazuki was working. "Sakazuki, the pirate who attacked the training ship has been captured. Borsalino will bring him back to Headquarters tomorrow. In the meantime, I need you to take care of something."

"What is it?" Sakazuki set down his hoe and looked at Xayuki.

"I've decided to hold a live broadcast of their public execution. Make sure as many people around the world as possible can watch it."

"As for the timing—"

"Let's schedule it for the day of the Seven Warlords of the Sea meeting!"

Hearing that Xayuki planned to hold a public execution of the pirate who had attacked the training ship, and that it would coincide with the Seven Warlords meeting, Sakazuki immediately perked up. He snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "I'll get right on it!"

As Sakazuki left the yard, Dracule Mihawk, who had just finished reinforcing a section of the fence, turned his gaze toward Xayuki. "Why choose the day of the Seven Warlords meeting?"

Xayuki casually picked up the hoe Sakazuki had left behind and replied with a grin, "To give certain scumbags among you a little warning, of course!"

Mihawk chose to ignore the remark, his expression turning serious. "I've heard about the attack on Zephyr's training ship. The pirate responsible called himself Edward Weevil, claiming to be Whitebeard's son."

Xayuki swung the hoe down forcefully. "And what are you trying to say?"

Mihawk stood up, his sharp eyes fixed on Xayuki. "There are rumors that Edward Weevil is indeed Whitebeard's son. If the rumors are true, Whitebeard might take action—he could even lead the entire Whitebeard Pirates to Marineford. After all, Whitebeard cherishes his family above all else. It's not just his biological son—he wouldn't stand idly by if any of his crew, who call him 'Father,' were in danger."

"Xayuki, I'm here~!"

At that moment, a sweet, coquettish voice suddenly rang out.

Following the sound, they turned to see Boa Hancock striding into the vegetable garden, carrying two buckets of water. Her long legs moved gracefully as she overtook Gunshi, who was still on her way.

Looking smug, Hancock declared, "Fetching water isn't hard at all. I mastered it instantly!"

Xayuki glanced at the buckets, noticing they were only half full. His mouth twitched slightly, but he still gave her a thumbs-up without hesitation. "Impressive."

Hearing Xayuki's praise, Hancock's heart raced, her cheeks flushing even redder. Clasping her hands to her face, she asked shyly, "What else do you need me to do?"

"See that basket of potatoes under the eaves? Bring it over."

"Got it!"

Before the words were fully out of her mouth, Hancock disappeared in a blur.

When she reappeared, she was holding a basket of potatoes.

In high spirits after the capture of Weevil and Bakkin, Xayuki picked up his hoe again, preparing to plant the potatoes.

As Hancock set down the basket, she quickly approached him, her curiosity piqued. "Xayuki, what are you digging?"

Catching a whiff of her fragrance, Xayuki frowned slightly. "Step back. I'm digging your family's grave."

"Eh?"

Hancock blinked, then, as if struck by a sudden epiphany, her face turned even redder. Clutching her cheeks, she blurted out, "So we're meeting the parents already?"

Xayuki: "?????"

Mihawk: "!!!!!!!"

Gunshi: "..."
