Chapter 14: Chapter 14: The Island Descends, Imu Takes Action
A massive island could be seen above the Holy Land, Mary Geoise, as if trying to break free from the shackles of a dark shadow.
As it descended steadily, the island was illuminated by the fiery glow rising from Mary Geoise below.
The sharp sound of howling wind pierced the hearts of everyone present.
"What is that thing?!"
"Look up at the sky! Why is an island falling from above?!"
"The island is falling!"
"We're doomed, we're all doomed!"
...
A sense of despair spread rapidly.
Everyone stared at the enormous island dropping from the sky. They wanted to run and seek shelter—but had no idea where to go. The entire Holy Land, Mary Geoise, was within the island's falling range.
Admiral Kizaru, who had just barely broken free from the Six-Rod Light Prison, looked extremely battered.
He dragged his injured body forward—covered in burns and barely holding himself together.
He hadn't expected Roya to be this strong, nor had he imagined that the ability called Six-Rod Light Prison could actually suppress his elemental form.
But when he looked up at the island falling from the sky, even his usual lazy tone was forgotten.
"Damn it… is this that guy's doing again?!!"
The floating island, once freed from the power of the talismans, began to descend—friction with the air causing violent combustion. With its increasing speed, the entire island had now turned into a giant fireball.
The island had to be stopped from falling!
Otherwise… his entire month's salary would be gone!
For the sake of his paycheck, Kizaru took a deep breath, crossing his hands and forming a gesture with his index fingers and thumbs.
"Yasakani no Magatama!"
Bright light flashed at Kizaru's fingertips, and countless dazzling energy bullets shot toward the falling island.
Each blast that struck the island caused a powerful explosion.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The dense explosions began to shatter parts of the island, sending debris of all sizes flying.
But compared to the entire floating island, these attacks were no more than a drop in the ocean.
He alone wasn't enough.
Just then, a man in a military cap appeared beside Kizaru.
"Meteor Volcano!"
It was Akainu!
His magma fists launched a barrage of massive molten punches at the island above.
And yet—even with the combined power of the two admirals—it was still difficult to stop such a colossal island.
Aboard a nearby warship, Roya watched the scene unfold and murmured in his heart:
Looks like it's time to step in.
As if in response to Roya's thoughts—something began to stir.
In the deepest part of the Holy Land Mary Geoise, there was a place known as the Room of Flowers.
Suddenly, a sharp sword aura tore through the air.
The slash covered the sky, spanning thousands of meters! Wherever it passed, sword energy howled—utterly terrifying!
The mighty slash locked onto the island looming above everyone's heads.
Then, in an instant, it split into two—then four—then eight—continuously multiplying.
In the blink of an eye, it divided into thousands upon thousands of sword strikes, like a raging hurricane, enveloping the island entirely!
Before this storm of sword energy, the island was like a mere piece of paper—shredded apart again and again.
In just a few short moments, the massive island in the sky was reduced to ashes, scattering in the wind.
Admirals Kizaru and Akainu at Mary Geoise stared in shock at what they had just witnessed.
They had exhausted themselves trying to destroy the island—and yet it was reduced to dust in an instant!
Aboard a warship, Roya watched the scene with a slight smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
He reached out and gently stroked Hancock's silky hair, then said to her:
"Looks like we didn't get to deliver our little gift today after all. But I promise you—one day, I'll send them something even bigger."
Then Roya added:
"For now, let me take you back to Amazon Lily."
As soon as he finished speaking, the system's mechanical voice echoed in his mind:
Ding! New Check-In Mission: Amazon Lily
Reward: Peak-level Armament Haki
Time limit: 3 days
A full day had passed since they left Mary Geoise.
The sky was clear, sunlight warm, and thanks to the high mobility of their warship, the journey had been leisurely.
Leaning against the ship's railing, letting the sea breeze whip against his cloak, Roya said:
"You're leaving?"
Behind him, Fisher Tiger replied:
"I'm planning to return to Fish-Man Island for a while."
"Take care."
Roya didn't stop him—he could tell Tiger had made up his mind. He simply gave him a word of caution.
Fisher Tiger grinned:
"If you ever come to Fish-Man Island, you'd better come find me!"
"Mm."
Roya nodded slightly, a faint smile beneath his cloak as he felt the passion in Fisher Tiger's voice.
Watching him dive into the sea and disappear, Roya returned to his room.
Night fell. The moon was high and the stars sparse.
The warship had now entered the Calm Belt—a windless zone.
In this zone, where no wind blew, traditional sail ships could not move—making it extremely dangerous.
Not only that, the Calm Belt was also home to Sea Kings—massive sea creatures.
Their power is judged mainly by size and length.
A Sea King around 1,000 meters was considered average—any Vice Admiral could take it down with some effort.
One at 3,000 meters was powerful—requiring multiple Vice Admirals or even an Admiral to handle.
Anything above 5,000 meters, barring special methods, was almost impossible to kill due to their massive size and thick defenses. Even Admirals would struggle against them.
Roya stepped out of his room and saw Hancock standing alone on deck, gazing into the hazy distance.
He walked over to her side.
"Are you homesick?"
"Mm." Hancock looked up at Roya, and asked softly,
"R-Roya… don't you miss home?"
For some reason, when she said his name, her face flushed red.
Thankfully, it was nighttime, or else she was sure Roya would have seen the blush on her cheeks.
"Miss it… and don't miss it."
"Why?"
"Because… there's nothing worth missing."
Upon hearing that, Hancock's nose tingled, and her eyes slightly moistened.
She gently reached out and tugged on Roya's sleeve, whispering:
"Roya, from now on… let me—"
But before she could finish, a sharp glint flashed in Roya's eyes—he had sensed danger.
Without hesitation, he activated his talisman powers, pulling the entire warship into the sky!
At that very moment, the pitch-black sea beneath them surged with monstrous waves…
