One Piece: Sky Dragon

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Teacher

The Conqueror's Haki, a rare power possessed by only one in several million people, allows the user to overwhelm opponents with sheer intent alone. Only the most powerful individuals from across the world possess this ability. However, while Conqueror's Haki can be controlled, it cannot be enhanced through practice. This power is a reflection of the user's will, which can only grow stronger through personal development.

There are three stages of Conqueror's Haki:

Basic Level, At this stage, the user cannot control the power at will. It can only be released through intense emotion.

Intermediate Level, The user gains the ability to control it freely.

Advanced Level, Not only can the user control it freely, but they can also wield their will as a weapon to oppress enemies. This stage allows the user to enhance their attacks in all aspects, using the power at any time and in any place.

Unlike Armament and Observation Haki, which can be taught to others, Conqueror's Haki must be discovered through personal experience. While Cipher Pol has many skilled individuals, the true masters of Haki have more pressing matters to attend to. Moreover, Cipher Pol's primary focus on assassination and espionage makes it an unsuitable environment for Celestial Dragons to practice Haki.

Nonetheless, Cipher Pol's extensive intelligence network could easily find a suitable teacher for Cassius.

In a tavern in a small village, Stussy brought Cassius to meet someone. The man was a middle-aged former Vice Admiral who appeared drunk and completely drained of energy.

"Former Vice Admiral Morgan was dismissed for drinking and causing trouble too often," Stussy explained respectfully to Cassius. "He was once one of the top candidates for the admiral position, but his failures led to his downfall." Her tone was indifferent, showing no respect for Morgan.

Morgan could sense that Stussy's presence was different, but what intrigued him even more was Cassius. The aura around him felt chaotic, yet there was an unexplainable order to the disorder.

Seeing Morgan's interest, Stussy added, "This is Saint Bardros. He hopes to learn Haki from you."

Upon hearing that Cassius was a Celestial Dragon, Morgan's face lit up with excitement, as if encountering a rare creature.

"Morgan, you'd better show some respect!" Stussy warned, her tone firm. "This opportunity was arranged by an old friend. If you serve the Celestial Dragon well, you could atone for your past mistakes. You may even be reinstated, with a higher salary and status."

She emphasized every word, making sure Morgan understood the gravity of the situation.

However, Morgan simply picked up a large wine glass, took a sip, and gulped down the entire contents in one go.

Stussy was about to protest when she felt Cassius' hand on her arm, stopping her.

The handle of Morgan's glass had turned black, but this wasn't due to dirt, it was a sign of Haki. Cassius recognized the significance: just like the "Black Hand" Admiral Zyra or the Legendary Swordsman's Black Blade, any weapon exposed to Haki for a long period would eventually turn black.

Morgan had been using this glass for years, and out of fear of breaking it, he had protected it with Armament Haki. This had caused the glass to turn black, a clear indication of Morgan's mastery over Armament Haki.

Cassius surmised that Morgan's Armament Haki was at at least intermediate level, though it was unclear what other Haki abilities he possessed.

After a moment of thought, Cassius stepped forward and spoke. "I understand a few things about Haki. For example, Armament Haki is a type of Haki that enhances both defense and attack, and it can also manipulate the natural flow of the body."

"There are three levels of Armament Haki. The basic level can harden your body, but because the Haki is too weak or scattered, its offensive and defensive capabilities are limited.

At the intermediate level, you can concentrate the Haki at specific points in your body for explosive offense or defense. This allows you to form a black armor around yourself, and even imbue your weapon with Haki.

At the advanced level, the user can channel Haki into objects, allowing them to destroy those objects from the inside. This ability allows you to break free from tough restraints or attack enemies from a distance."

Despite Cassius' explanation, Morgan's expression remained skeptical.

"Point the gun," Cassius suddenly commanded.

Stussy immediately understood and acted.

Whoosh!

Stussy was incredibly fast, but Morgan had anticipated her move. He stood up just in time to dodge the attack.

Cassius smiled slightly and continued. "Observation Haki sharpens the user's five senses. It allows one to detect the breath and emotions of nearby creatures and can be used to predict and avoid danger."

"Observation Haki grants abilities such as perceiving attacks, predicting an opponent's next move, sensing the strength of a creature, reading their emotions, and detecting objects outside your field of vision. The strength of these abilities varies from person to person.

This Haki is deeply connected to psychology. You must remain calm to use it. If you're emotional or lose control, it will be ineffective.

Advanced Observation Haki can even predict the future and read minds, but such abilities are extremely rare."

Morgan smirked, sipping from his refilled wine glass. "So, based on your explanation, my Armament Haki is at the intermediate level, and my Observation Haki is also at the intermediate level. It's not enough to teach you."

He paused, then added, "But there's something strange about you... While you're more polite than other Celestial Dragons, there's something unsettling about you. I was dismissed for insulting another Celestial Dragon while drunk, I'm afraid..."

Before Morgan could finish, Cassius suddenly bowed deeply before him.

"Please become my teacher!" he said.

Morgan was stunned. Stussy, still angry from missing her attack, was speechless. She couldn't pull Cassius away, so she seethed in frustration instead.

To her surprise, Morgan didn't even look at her. He reached back, grabbed her ankle, and moved it aside, causing Stussy to stumble and nearly fall.

Morgan was astounded. He had never seen a Celestial Dragon bow before anyone, not in all his years of service. Celestial Dragons were considered the most powerful beings in the world!

"Saint Bardros! You cannot bow before mere mortals!" Stussy cried urgently. As a CP0 agent tasked with protecting Celestial Dragons, her job wasn't just to ensure their safety, it was also to uphold their status.

But Cassius stood firm. "It doesn't matter. If he becomes my teacher, he will be like a second father to me. He should be respected as one."

As he rose, Morgan's expression shifted. The contempt he once felt for Cassius faded, replaced by a new sense of respect.

Whoosh!

This time, it was Morgan who bowed deeply to Cassius. His thoughts shifted, and he began to realize the kind of person Cassius could become in the future.

"I, Morgan, will teach you everything I know."
