One Piece: System User In The World Of Pirates

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Playful Banter.

The sun shone brightly in a clear sky.

The vast blue sea sparkled like a colossal gem—beautiful, enchanting, yet mysterious and perilous.

A three-masted sailing ship glided leisurely over the waves, carried by a cool sea breeze.

"Do it harder. Your technique is sloppy, your strength is off, and your massage technique is all wrong—terrible performance."

"A bit thirsty. Bring me a glass of juice."

"This sunlight is too glaring—move the parasol."

On the deck, bursts of teasing and complaints were heard repeatedly, each one stirring up more irritation.

Kaelen's lazy smugness only made people want to throttle him.

Behind him, Robin looked helpless.

While massaging Kaelen's shoulders, she skillfully manipulated flowers and fruits, fetched juice from the kitchen, and adjusted the parasol's position.

One person doing the work of three.

Kaelen called this "exercising Robin's Devil Fruit ability."

It was the day after leaving the country where they repaired bridges, and before departing, Kaelen had knocked out the guards with Conqueror's Haki .

Apparently, the area was under Revolutionary Army control.

A little mischievous on Kaelen's part.

Yet this small act surprisingly improved Robin's attitude toward him.

...

Kaelen squinted, thinking while enjoying Robin's attentive service.

After days spent studying several corpses and piecing together clues from the story's main text, he gained a clearer understanding of the pirate world's power system.

He also gained experience in developing Devil Fruit abilities.

Haki, physical strength, swordsmanship, and Devil Fruit powers—all four form the foundation of the pirate world's power system.

Among the Devil Fruits, there are three types: Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia.

Within the Zoan category, there are further divisions, such as Ancient and Mythical Zoans.

Each Devil Fruit lineage has different power emphases.

From Kaelen's perspective, regardless of the Devil Fruit type, development revolves around three aspects: offense, defense, and support.

He agreed strongly with the saying: no Devil Fruit is useless, only useless application of its power.

Even a seemingly trivial power, if developed properly, can be deadly.

"Your Devil Fruit development is too shallow. It's fine against weak enemies, but you'll be helpless against stronger foes."

Robin's focus broke for a moment, and Kaelen's words caused him to press harder with his hands.

She knew her strength was lacking, but Kaelen's bluntness was unpleasant.

"Yes, maintaining the current strength is enough."

Kaelen breathed comfortably and continued, "Most of your abilities lean towards support, and your overall power is average."

"To improve, development is one thing, but boosting physical strength is equally important. Without sufficient stamina, you won't be able to sustain your powers."

Robin nodded, acknowledging Kaelen's insight.

Her weakness was partly due to years spent hiding in the East Blue—running, escaping, or searching for news about poneglyphs.

She had little time or energy for proper training.

Books helped her survive, but strength was what she needed.

Without it, when danger arrived, all she could do was watch helplessly.

Robin's movements—dazzling flower techniques and subtle auxiliary abilities—were nothing more than showmanship to Kaelen.

They neither attacked nor defended effectively, serving only as early warnings.

This fit Robin's experience perfectly.

She said nothing, waiting for Kaelen's plan.

Luffy and the others trained hard, and she wasn't about to fall behind.

"Starting tomorrow, you will dedicate three hours every morning and afternoon to training your Devil Fruit abilities once you've regained strength," Kaelen outlined after a pause.

"Other times, I'll teach you to use Observation and Armament Haki, but don't rush learning Armament."

Robin frowned slightly.

Kaelen's plan was tough, and she preferred relaxing with a book and sea breeze.

Whether she was strong or not didn't matter much—until now.

To survive better, she had to get stronger.

Her gaze hardened with resolve.

"So, you're saying I'm lucky to have the world's strongest man guiding me?"

Kaelen shifted into a more comfortable position and winked at her.

Robin had been heavy-hearted and melancholic, but his attitude quickly dissipated her gloom.

Her hands stiffened briefly, then a faint smile appeared.

Kaelen was impossible to figure out—sometimes serious, sometimes playful—never revealing his true self.

He was right in front of her, yet impossible to catch.

Distracted, Robin flatly said, "The strongest man in the previous world just died."

Kaelen fell silent, speechless.

Was Robin mocking him?

"Don't be so cruel—so ruthless!"

Kaelen shook his head with a smirk, complaining, "So this is your real face—completely cold! Women, huh?"

Robin narrowed her eyes and chuckled, "The captain is quite something."

"I don't know what you mean, but I'll take that as a compliment."

Kaelen's words once again revealed his dual nature.

"The captain is powerful. Seems I have a lot to learn from you."

"Oh? Then let's get started."

Amid their playful banter, the sailboat continued its slow course forward, gradually moving farther away.
