The journey into the mountains began at dawn. The air was thin and cold, the wind carrying whispers that seemed to slither through the trees like unseen phantoms. The landscape had changed—what was once lush and green had become rugged, sharp, and ancient. Every step forward felt like walking into another era.
Gandalf led the way, his staff glowing faintly. "This path has not been walked in an age. Tread carefully."
Legolas followed closely behind, his elven senses alert. "Something stirs in these lands."
Zoro smirked. "Good. I was getting bored."
Robin examined the stone formations. "The architecture here… it doesn't match any known civilization of Middle-earth."
Sanji raised an eyebrow. "You mean it's older than all of them?"
Robin nodded. "Possibly older than even Mordor."
The crew exchanged uneasy glances. They had faced many things—marines, sea monsters, celestial dragons—but this… this was different. This was the weight of an ancient world pressing down on them.
As they climbed higher, the fog thickened. Shadows danced along the rocks, flickering like memories trapped in time. The deeper they went, the more the whispers grew louder.
Then suddenly—they stopped.
Luffy froze. His senses sharpened. Something was wrong.
Brook shivered. "Yohoho… I would say I've got chills, but I don't have any skin."
Chopper's fur bristled. "Something is here!"
From the mist, a figure emerged.
An old man, cloaked in tattered royal garments. His eyes were hollow, his hands trembling as he reached out.
"Who… disturbs… the kings…?"
A chill ran down their spines.
Nami gritted her teeth. "A ghost?! Are you serious?!"
The old king staggered forward. "You seek… the truth of the Void. But do you… understand the cost?"
Gandalf stepped forward. "We seek knowledge."
The ghost let out a hollow laugh. "Knowledge… knowledge is the root of all curses."
The mist thickened. More figures appeared—shadows of ancient kings, their bodies flickering between existence and oblivion.
Luffy clenched his fist. "I don't care about curses. Tell us what we need to know."
The old king studied him. Then, he spoke words that sent a shiver through everyone's soul.
"The One Piece… is the last echo of the Ring."
A silence fell. Even the wind stopped.
Robin's eyes widened. "What…?"
The king continued. "The Ring of Power was destroyed. But not its will. The great sea swallowed its remains… and from its ashes, a new legend was born. A treasure that men, elves, dwarves, and even gods sought after."
Legolas's fists tightened. "Then the One Piece…"
"…is not just a treasure," the king whispered. "It is the last memory of a world long forgotten. The final piece of the war between light and shadow."
Luffy stepped forward. His voice was quiet but firm.
"Then we'll find it. No matter what."
The ghosts watched him.
And then, one by one… they vanished.
The fog lifted. The whispers ceased.
But in the air, one final echo remained.
"The Dark Lord waits in Mordor."
