One Piece :The Last Voyage to Mordor

Chapter 41: Chapter 37 : Decent into the Forgotten Light.

The air grew colder with each step the Straw Hats took down the hidden staircase. The crystalline walls of the ruins, once glowing with a soft, ethereal light, now dimmed to a faint, pulsating blue. The shadows seemed to stretch and twist, as if alive, and the whispers of the ancient chamber grew louder, echoing in their ears like a distant, forgotten song.

Luffy, ever the fearless leader, bounded ahead, his sandals slapping against the stone steps. "This is so cool! It's like one of those secret dungeons Nami gets mad about when we explore!"

Nami groaned, clutching her Clima-Tact tightly. "Because every time we go into one of these places, something tries to kill us! Or worse, we end up owing someone a fortune!"

Robin, walking beside her, smirked. "That's what makes it interesting, doesn't it? The thrill of uncovering secrets that were meant to stay buried."

Zoro, his hand resting on the hilt of one of his swords, narrowed his eyes as he scanned the shifting walls. "This whole place feels… wrong. Like the air is watching us. Like it's alive."

Sanji lit a cigarette, the flame flickering unnaturally in the cold, stagnant air. "Tch. I don't like it either. It's like we're walking into a trap."

Brook chuckled, his skeletal frame rattling slightly. "Well, at least if something jumps out, I won't be scared to death. Since, you know… I'm already dead! Yohohoho!"

Chopper, who had been nervously clinging to Franky's arm, jumped at Brook's joke. "That's not funny, Brook!"

Franky patted Chopper's head. "Relax, little bro. We've been through worse, right? This is just another adventure!"

As they reached the bottom of the staircase, the steps behind them vanished, swallowed by an impenetrable darkness. The faint blue glow of the walls was now their only source of light, casting eerie shadows that danced across their faces.

Nami glanced back, her heart sinking. "No turning back now…"

**The Chamber of Shattered Time**

The Straw Hats stepped into a colossal underground hall, far larger than anything they had expected. The ceiling stretched impossibly high, supported by crystalline pillars that twisted like frozen lightning bolts. The ground was lined with intricate carvings, depicting battles against shadowed figures—warriors clashing against an unseen force. The air was thick with the weight of history, as if the very walls were alive with the memories of those who had come before.

At the far end of the chamber stood a massive door, covered in glowing symbols that pulsed with a faint, golden light. The symbols seemed to shift and change, as if they were alive, whispering secrets that no one could understand.

Gandalf stepped forward, his staff glowing faintly in the dim light. His eyes narrowed as he studied the door. "This is no ordinary place… This is a vault of history, locked away from time itself. A place where the past and present collide."

Legolas knelt, brushing his fingers against the engravings on the ground. "These warriors… their weapons are unfamiliar. They don't match any culture or era I've ever seen."

Robin crouched beside him, her fingers tracing the intricate carvings. "They don't match any recorded history. Not from Middle-earth, nor from the Grand Line. This… this is something older. Something that predates both our worlds."

Franky whistled, his mechanical arms whirring as he adjusted his sunglasses. "You mean we're lookin' at something older than both our worlds? That's super crazy!"

Before anyone could answer, a deep, rumbling voice filled the chamber, shaking the very ground beneath their feet.

"You should not be here."

The temperature plummeted, and the air grew heavy with an oppressive, almost suffocating energy. The blue glow of the chamber intensified, casting long, jagged shadows across the walls.

Luffy's eyes darted around, his fists clenched. "Oi… who said that?!"

The carvings on the walls began to move. The shadows in the engravings pulled themselves free, forming wraith-like warriors with hollow, glowing eyes. Each one wielded weapons of pure light, their forms shifting between solid and ethereal, as if they existed in two worlds at once.

"Turn back now… or be claimed by the Forgotten Light."

Zoro cracked his knuckles, a fierce grin spreading across his face. "Guess we're fighting again."

Sanji exhaled a plume of smoke, his eyes narrowing. "Tch. I knew this was coming."

Luffy's grin widened, his fists glowing faintly with the power of his Haki. "Bring it on!"

**A Battle Between Realms**

The wraith-warriors charged, their movements swift and fluid, as if they were made of liquid shadow. Zoro met them head-on, his swords clashing against their light-forged blades. The moment his steel touched their weapons, a shockwave burst through the chamber, sending a ripple of energy through the air.

Zoro's eyes narrowed as he felt the weight of their blades. "Their weapons… they're solid. But they shouldn't be."

Sanji twisted through the air, flames erupting from his legs as he launched a powerful kick at one of the wraiths. "I don't care if you're ghosts or whatever! I'll still kick you into next week!" His Diable Jambe connected with the wraith's chest—only for his foot to pass through it as if it were made of mist.

Sanji stumbled mid-air, landing with a snarl. "What the hell?!"

Brook dashed past him, his sword slicing through one of the wraiths with ease. The warrior let out an eerie shriek, its form flickering before dissipating into mist.

Brook grinned, his skeletal face illuminated by the faint blue glow. "Ah, of course! They exist between life and death… which means I can cut them!"

Luffy dodged a strike from a wraith, his Haki-infused fist colliding with its chest. But instead of feeling the satisfying impact of a solid hit, he felt a strange resistance. It wasn't solid… but it wasn't air, either.

"Your will… is strong." The wraith he struck staggered, its form unstable, as if Luffy's Haki had disrupted its very essence.

Robin's eyes widened as she observed the battle. "Their forms shift between worlds. They aren't entirely here. They exist in a state between life and death, between the physical and the ethereal."

Nami pulled out her Clima-Tact, spinning it as she summoned a storm cloud. The chamber's air crackled with electricity as lightning arced through the air, striking one of the wraiths. The warrior let out a distorted cry, its form momentarily solidifying under the force of the lightning.

Franky's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Oh-ho! So they're weak to elemental attacks? Then let's give 'em a taste of Franky's Radical Beam!"

Chopper transformed into his Monster Point, his massive form towering over the wraiths. "Then let's test that out!" He roared, slamming his fists into the ground, sending shockwaves through the chamber.

Gandalf raised his staff, murmuring ancient words as light exploded from his fingertips, washing over the battlefield. The wraiths screeched, their forms weakening under the glow of his magic.

"You… are not meant… to pass…"

The largest wraith lunged at Gandalf, its blade of light descending with deadly precision. But before it could strike, a whistling arrow pierced its head, causing it to freeze mid-motion. Its form dissipated into mist, leaving behind only the faint echo of its voice.

Legolas lowered his bow, his expression calm but determined. "Then perhaps it is time to change fate."

**The Door of Truth**

With the wraiths defeated, the chamber fell silent once more. The massive door at the far end rumbled, ancient locks disengaging as the glowing symbols pulsed with a brighter, more intense light.

The Straw Hats stepped forward cautiously, their eyes fixed on the door. Gandalf placed a hand on its surface, his expression grave. "Beyond this lies something long forgotten. Something that should have remained buried. Be prepared for what you may find."

Luffy grinned, his usual carefree demeanor undeterred by the ominous warning. "We're always ready!"

The door creaked open, revealing a stairway that descended into an endless abyss. The faint golden light at the bottom pulsed like a heartbeat, drawing them forward.

Nami shivered, her arms wrapped around herself. "Why do I feel like we just stepped into something bigger than we imagined?"

Robin's expression darkened as she stared into the abyss. "Because we did. This place… it's more than just a vault. It's a prison. And we're about to unlock it."

Luffy stepped forward, his eyes filled with determination. "Then let's go."

And with that, the crew descended into the unknown, the golden light growing brighter with each step they took. The air grew heavier, the whispers louder, as if the very walls were alive, watching, waiting.

As they descended, the shadows seemed to close in around them, the faint blue glow of the chamber fading into darkness. The only light now came from the golden pulse at the bottom of the stairway, a beacon that drew them deeper into the abyss.

Nami's voice trembled as she spoke. "I don't like this… I don't like this at all."

Zoro's hand tightened around the hilt of his sword. "Stay close. Whatever's down there, we'll face it together."

Sanji lit another cigarette, the flame flickering in the darkness. "Tch. Let's just get this over with."

Brook chuckled, his skeletal frame rattling slightly. "Well, at least if we die, I'll have some company in the afterlife! Yohohoho!"

Chopper whimpered, clinging to Franky's arm. "Don't say things like that, Brook!"

Franky patted Chopper's head. "Don't worry, little bro. We've got this."

As they reached the bottom of the stairway, the golden light grew brighter, illuminating a massive chamber filled with ancient relics and glowing symbols. At the center of the chamber stood a pedestal, upon which rested a single, glowing orb.

Gandalf's eyes widened as he approached the pedestal. "This… this is the Forgotten Light. The source of the power that has been locked away for centuries."

Luffy stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the orb. "So… what do we do with it?"

Gandalf's expression was grave. "We must decide whether to destroy it… or use it. But be warned, the consequences of either choice could be dire."

The crew exchanged uneasy glances, the weight of their decision pressing down on them. The air grew heavier, the whispers louder, as if the very walls were urging them to make a choice.

And as they stood there, the golden light pulsed once more, filling the chamber with its radiant glow.

The choice was theirs.
