Chapter 7: Chapter 7:The End Of Arlong And The Corrupt Marine Nezumi!
Arlong's jagged teeth twisted into a cruel grin as his massive blade clashed against Yami's Minecraft Iron Sword. Sparks flew from the grinding metal, but a loud CRACK echoed across the battlefield.
Arlong's eyes widened in disbelief as his sword shattered like brittle glass against Yami's seemingly unbreakable weapon.
"W-What!?" Arlong snarled, staggering back.
Yami smirked. "Guess your fishy strength ain't enough against real steel."
Without wasting a second, Yami drove his foot into Arlong's stomach, sending the towering fish-man flying backward. Arlong's massive body slammed into the water with a loud SPLASH, sending waves crashing against the shore.
Yami twirled his iron sword in his hand before casually tossing it toward Tashigi. "Hold onto this for me."
Tashigi caught the weapon and glanced at Nojiko, handing it to her. "Sheath it properly."
Nojiko nodded, but before she could store it, a furious roar erupted from the water.
Arlong shot out of the sea, his body covered in glistening water, his sharp saw-like nose aimed straight at Yami like a torpedo.
Yami snorted. 'So predictable.'
He casually raised his palm forward.
WHOOSH!
A massive wall of black obsidian materialized in front of him just before impact.
CRACK!
Arlong's nose smashed into the obsidian wall, an agonizing scream tearing from his throat as his cartilage snapped under the force. Blood gushed from his broken nose, staining the wall in crimson.
Arlong clutched his face, writhing in pain. "M-My nose… YOU DAMN HUMAN!"
Yami's gaze darkened. "Let's finish this."
Arlong roared in rage, refusing to accept defeat. "No one can defeat me! Especially a weak human like you!"
He lunged again, his body coated in water, using the water like an Aqua Jet to propel himself forward like a speeding bullet. Even with his nose broken and blood streaming down his face, Arlong ignored the pain, blinded by fury.
But the moment he got close—
BOOM!
A crushing wave of Conqueror's Haki exploded from Yami, shaking the very air.
Arlong's pupils shrank. His body froze mid-attack, his instincts screaming at him that he had just challenged a king.
He crashed onto his knees in front of Yami, panting heavily. His limbs trembled as though invisible hands were pressing down on him. Unlike the weak-willed fishmen who would've fainted instantly, Arlong still clung to consciousness, but his willpower was shattering under the oppressive weight.
Yami narrowed his eyes. "Owari da."
With a swift, brutal kick to the jaw, Yami sent Arlong flying backward, his massive body slamming into the ground.
Unconscious. Defeated. Arlong pirates were no more.
Yami stored the obsidian wall back into his inventory and turned toward the others.
"He did it!"
Nojiko's voice broke the silence, her eyes wide with disbelief before they brimmed with tears of joy.
Nami clutched her chest as she fell to her knees, sobbing. The years of torment, the suffering under Arlong's rule, the endless nightmare—it was finally over.
Nojiko ran to her sister and embraced her tightly.
Tashigi watched them, a rare smile gracing her lips. "It's over…" she whispered. The moment was truly heartwarming.
Then, she glanced at Yami, who was walking toward them, his usual arrogant expression in place.
'He really should learn how to talk properly. Otherwise, besides me… no one will ever want him as a husband.'
Her eyes widened as her thoughts registered in her own mind.
Her face turned bright red, and she violently shook her head. 'N-No! What am I thinking!? I can't think of that idiot brute like that!'
Just as she was lost in her own spiraling thoughts—
Yami stopped in front of her, looking concerned. "Oi, Tashigi… did you catch a fever or something? I knew you were too weak to fight these people."
Tashigi's vein popped in irritation. "I AM PERFECTLY FINE!"
BAM!
She kicked Yami's shin out of sheer frustration and turned away with an angry huff.
Yami blinked. "Huh?" He glanced down at his leg, utterly confused. 'I didn't even feel that.'
Before he could question her further—
THUMP!
Nami and Nojiko tackled him into a hug, crying into his chest.
"Thank you…" Nami whispered, her voice shaking.
"Thank you so much!" Nojiko added, gripping his back tightly.
Yami stood there, stiff as a board, unsure of how to react. His arms awkwardly rose before he patted their backs, his cheeks dusted with pink.
'Damn… they're soft.'
Tashigi, who was sneaking a glance at Yami, pouted subtly before quickly turning away again.
"Hmph."
Yami turned to face the gathered villagers. They stood at the village gates, watching with teary eyes and wide smiles, having witnessed everything.
Their hero had announced his fight when he first entered the village, and now, they stood before him, cheering his victory.
Yami raised his voice. "Can someone help me with a problem?"
A man stepped forward, nodding eagerly. "Of course!"
Yami gave him quick instructions, and the villagers swiftly moved to tie up the remaining fish-men. A large pit was being dug as well.
Nojiko and Nami reluctantly pulled away from Yami's embrace, but they couldn't shake off the strange warmth lingering in their hearts.
Yami turned and motioned for Tashigi, Nami, and Nojiko to follow him.
As they reached the outskirts of the village—
A battalion of marines arrived, led by none other than Colonel Nezumi.
"You lot! Arrest those fish-men!" Nezumi ordered. "And one of you, go to that orange grove and collect those 100 million Berries!" His greedy eyes sparkled as he licked his lips.
Tashigi's hands curled into fists. 'A corrupt marine…?'
She had always thought Yami was an idiot for saying not all marines were good and not all pirates were bad.
But now, staring at Nezumi, a crack formed in her unwavering belief in justice.
Nezumi smirked. "Oh, and make sure to report that I, Colonel Nezumi, was the one who defeated the Arlong Pirates!"
The villagers, the sisters, and Tashigi all glared daggers at the rat-faced man.
Before anyone could react—
FWOOOOSH!
A fiery sword slash tore through the ground in front of the charging marines, stopping them in their tracks.
Yami lowered his sword, his eyes gleaming.
"You're not going anywhere, Nezumi."
Nezumi's smirk vanished instantly. "D-Do you have any idea what you're doing!?" he stammered. "Interfering with the Navy's business will make you a criminal! I can report you to Headquarters!"
Yami grinned. "Then do it."
He stepped forward, his eyes burning with excitement.
"I am Yami Fujiwara. And I was already thinking about becoming a pirate."
His smirk widened. "So I'll gladly welcome my first bounty."
Tashigi's breath hitched.
Her world shattered.
'Yami… is going to become a pirate?'
She didn't know what to think anymore.
The villagers, Nami, and Nojiko stared at Yami in shock. Moments ago, they had feared that their savior would be troubled by the Navy, but now… he had openly declared his intention to become a pirate.
This wasn't what they expected.
But while the villagers remained hesitant, Nami and Nojiko saw something different.
Nami had met all kinds of pirates in East Blue—selfish, greedy, violent men who only took what they wanted. But Yami… was different. He didn't take anything from them—he gave them their freedom.
As if to hammer that fact in, Yami turned his gaze to Nezumi, his expression dark and unreadable.
Then—
BOOM!
A wave of Conqueror's Haki erupted from him, shaking the air.
The marines froze—then collapsed, their eyes rolling back. Even Nezumi's knees buckled before he fell face-first into the dirt, unconscious.
The entire village was silent.
"You guys," Yami called out to the villagers, snapping them out of their daze. "Tie them up as well, but put Nezumi with the Fishmen. Free the other marines when we leave. If they ask, say that we tied them up."
For a moment, the villagers hesitated—was it really okay to obey a pirate?
But then they remembered—this wasn't just any pirate.
This was the man who freed them.
"Understood!" they answered.
As they moved to carry out his orders, Genzo, Nami, and Nojiko approached Yami.
"Thank you for defeating Arlong and giving us justice," Genzo said, his voice full of gratitude. He removed his hat and bowed. "You have no idea how much we have suffered."
Yami shrugged. "I just do what I want."
To him, being a pirate wasn't about looting or pillaging. It was about being able to do whatever he wanted.
A villager approached. "The pit is ready."
Yami nodded and walked forward, his eyes scanning the deep hole in the ground. He turned to the bound Fishmen Pirates and Nezumi before raising his hand.
From his palm, black chains shot out, wrapping around their bodies.
Yami pulled them forward and slammed them into the pit.
The chains disappeared into his inventory as the prisoners groaned, slowly regaining consciousness.
"W-What's going on!?"
"How did we get here!?"
"Why are we tied up!?"
"PLEASE SPARE ME!"
"DAMN YOU, HUMAN!"
Nezumi, realizing his predicament, immediately started screaming and pleading.
Yami ignored him. Instead, he stepped to the edge of the pit, his iron sword glowing with heat as it began to melt.
Arlong, still dazed, glared at him. "Why are you even doing this for those girls!?"
Yami paused, then glanced at Nami and Nojiko. He motioned for them to step closer.
As they approached, Yami turned back to Arlong. "You're asking why?"
He let the question hang in the air for a moment.
Then he smirked.
"You're right," he said, his tone almost casual. "I have nothing to do with them."
Nami and Nojiko froze.
Something inside them cracked—a strange, sharp pain that they couldn't explain.
But before that feeling could settle, Yami continued.
"That's why…" His smirk softened, and his expression turned gentle. "Nami. Nojiko. Do you want to join my crew?"
The sisters' eyes widened.
"If you join me," Yami said, "then everything I've done here becomes justified."
Nami instantly knew her answer.
She could become Yami's navigator. She could set sail and see the world—without fearing for her home.
But Nojiko hesitated. "I… I don't think I'd be of any help to you, Yami-san."
Yami shook his head. "Tashigi wasn't that strong either, but I helped her reach the strength she has now."
He pointed toward Tashigi, who was standing off to the side, her expression unreadable.
"If you both follow me," Yami continued, "you'll gain the strength to protect yourselves and those you care about. You can make sure no one will suffer like you did under Arlong."
Nami and Nojiko locked eyes, both searching for hesitation in the other.
But neither found any.
They turned back to Yami—and smiled.
"We'll join your crew," they said in unison. "And follow you, Captain Yami."
Yami grinned. "Good."
He took both their hands. They blushed slightly, but before the warmth could spread, Yami guided their hands onto the hilt of his sword.
The heat from the metal licked at their fingers, but strangely, it didn't burn.
"You should be the ones to do this," Yami said. "Burn away everything that's haunted you."
Nami and Nojiko stared into the pit.
They remembered their mother, Bellemere—her warm smile, her fearless stance against Arlong. They remembered years of torment, of fear, of stolen freedom.
Now, they had the chance to end it.
Their grips tightened.
FWOOSH!
The sword ignited—the flames turning blue.
A chilling, eerie glow reflected in their eyes as they thrust the blade downward.
"Jiyū no Honō," Yami murmured. Flames of Freedom.
The blue fire roared to life, swallowing the Fishmen and Nezumi whole.
Screams echoed through the village.
"AAAAAHHHH!"
"IT BURNS!"
"SOMEBODY HELP US!"
"PLEASE, I BEG YOU!"
Nami and Nojiko quickly looked away, their hands trembling.
Yami wrapped his arms around them, shielding them from the sight.
As the fire consumed the last of the monsters that haunted their lives, he whispered:
"It's over."
The iron sword in his hand fully melted from the heat. Without a second thought, Yami tossed it into the flames, watching as it crashed onto Nezumi's burning body.
The villagers didn't look away.
They had no pity for the ones who had tormented them.
They only watched, the expressions on their faces not of joy, but of peace.
The cries from the pit slowly faded—until there was nothing left but ashes.
Tashigi didn't move.
She had been silent the entire time, watching everything unfold.
This was justice.
They were guilty. They deserved this.
Then why… did she feel so uneasy?
She clenched her fists.
Yami had told her he would only kill those who were guilty. And he had kept his word.
But still…
She glanced at him—at the man she had traveled with, fought beside, trusted. At the same person she had felt.....love. And now he has turned into a pirate.
And she knew—
From tomorrow onward, they would be enemies.
While Yami was holding the two girls, he looked towards a certain direction. Tashigi, who was still reluctant, followed his gaze and was shocked to see that a World Government ship had docked at the harbor.
The villagers were equally surprised and horrified as a man wearing a bubble-like helmet and pristine white clothes sat on the back of another man, who was covered in chains and bore multiple whip marks across his body. The bubble-helmeted figure tugged on the chain, forcing the slave to crawl forward like a dog as he made his way toward the pit where Yami and the others stood.
Behind him, a group of twenty men in black suits and glasses followed closely, their rigid posture exuding authority. Among them, one figure stood out, wearing a mask that concealed their face. Among the group, at the back, 4 people were bringing out a giant cage.
Yami stared at the bubble-headed man, his expression darkening. Isn't this the Celestial Dragon that Luffy punched? How did he end up here?
