Chapter 9: Chapter 9:Declaring War For Fun!
The entire world froze as a massive screen suddenly appeared in the sky, visible to all. From the highest peaks of Mariejois to the depths of Fish-Man Island, from the frozen lands of the North Blue to the scorching deserts of Alabasta, and every corner of the world was bathed in its eerie glow. The marines, the World Government, the Four Emperors, the Seven Warlords, the Revolutionary Army, the various kingdoms, and even isolated tribes like the Minks of Zou—every being capable of thought turned their eyes toward the screen.
The navy headquarters at Marineford fell into silence as high-ranking officers and recruits alike stared in bewilderment. The Five Elders, the most powerful figures beneath the enigmatic Imu, watched from their chamber with grim expressions. Even Imu, hidden within the shadows of Pangea Castle, narrowed his ancient, glowing eyes in surprise.
Then, the screen flickered.
A figure appeared.
He stood tall—seventeen feet in height—with long, flowing white hair and piercing red eyes with burning orange irises. His dark skin contrasted against the roaring flames dancing behind his back, and two massive black wings stretched wide, imposing and fearsome. His very presence exuded power.
King, the last Lunarian survivor, sat within the Beast Pirates' stronghold in Wano, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Impossible…" he muttered. "Another Lunarian?!"
The Five Elders exchanged sharp glances, their old faces hardening. "This cannot be," one of them muttered. "We wiped them out centuries ago! The only living lunarian is under Kaido's protection! How did another pop out of nowhere!"
Imu's fingers tightened around his throne, an ominous air surrounding him. He had not foreseen this.
Meanwhile, in the village of Cocoyasi, hidden behind a massive wall of obsidian, Nami, Nojiko, Tashigi, and the freed slaves—including Makino—watched in awe. They had known Yami was powerful, but they had never imagined that this was his true appearance.
Tashigi trembled slightly, her grip tightening on the hilt of her sword. 'Why... why did he hide this from me?' A strange mixture of emotions swirled within her—confusion, sadness, and something else she couldn't name.
Yami grinned, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he stared directly into the camera.
"Hello, world," he greeted, his voice deep and confident.
A moment of silence passed before he continued. "My name is Yami Fujiwara. And in case some of you don't recognize what I am..." He spread his massive wings, allowing the flames behind him to burn brighter. "I am a Lunarian."
Some Gasps echoed across the world. Some Kings and scholars alike scrambled to process the information.
"But the Lunarians were wiped out centuries ago!"
"Is he lying?!"
Yami chuckled at the panic he could already sense. "For those who don't know, the Lunarians were once considered gods. Eight hundred years ago, we ruled the skies… until the so-called 'Celestial Dragons' and the Twenty Great Kingdoms attacked us, slaughtering my people and stealing our home."
His grin widened. "You might know that place as Mariejois."
The world was thrown into chaos.
Inside the sacred halls of Mariejois, the Five Elders slammed their hands on the table. "This bastard is exposing history!" one of them spat.
Imu's eyes gleamed with fury, his ethereal form shifting in the dim light. "Find his location. Kill him."
The order was given. The God Knights prepared to mobilize.
But Yami wasn't done.
Reaching behind him, he grabbed a beaten and bloodied figure and yanked him forward into view. The world fell silent.
It was a Celestial Dragon.
Saint Charlos, his face swollen and bruised, whimpered as Yami held him up by the throat like a ragdoll. His pristine robes were torn, his once-arrogant demeanor reduced to terrified desperation.
The Five Elders' faces turned ugly. The other Celestial Dragons, who had been watching in their luxurious palaces, shrieked in horror.
Yami sneered. "This idiot thought he could make me his slave." His grip tightened, causing Charlos to wail in pain.
"You… you… y-you lowly trash!" Charlos screeched, his voice filled with desperation and rage. "I'll have you executed! You hear me?! I'll make you suffer! I'll kill every person who dares associate with you! And the women… the women will be mine! I'll—AAAHHHHH!"
A sickening crack echoed as Yami squeezed harder, making Charlos' face contort in agony.
"Tch. Disgusting," Yami muttered. He turned back to the screen, his expression dark. "The World Government and the Twenty Kingdoms took my people's home. So, there's only one thing left to do."
He raised Charlos higher, his fiery wings spreading ominously.
"This means war."
His words sent shockwaves through the world.
Pirates all over the seas grinned in excitement. The Revolutionary Army watched with newfound interest. The Marines scrambled to react.
"But I won't be fighting alone," Yami continued, his gaze burning into the souls of those watching. "To all those who wish to tear this world upside down and reshape it into something new—join me!"
And with that, his Conqueror's Haki exploded.
The sheer force of it wasn't just felt—it was seen. It poured through the screen, reaching across the world like an unrelenting storm. Weak-willed people collapsed instantly. Even some seasoned warriors like Moria gritted their teeth, feeling the pressure of his will.
Then, with a final smirk, Yami clenched his fist—crushing Charlos' skull in one swift motion. Blood splattered across the ground as the Celestial Dragon's body went limp.
The world fell silent.
For the first time in over eight hundred years… a Celestial Dragon had been executed before the eyes of the world.
The screen cut out, leaving only Yami's fierce glare burned into everyone's minds.
Then, chaos erupted.
Governments collapsed into disorder. Pirates roared with laughter, eager to see the world burn. The Marines scrambled to suppress riots.
At Mariejois, the Five Elders sat frozen, their faces twisted with fury and disbelief.
"This lunatic...!"
Meanwhile, deep within the shadows, Imu let out an inhuman screech. In a single motion, an arrow-like appendage shot from his form, impaling a nearby giant tree and reducing it to dust.
On the Revolutionary Army's ship, Dragon smirked. "Interesting… this might be an opportunity." He turned to his commanders. "Send someone to find out more about him. If he truly wishes to bring down the World Government… we may have a common goal."
Elsewhere, on Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock stared at the sky, her thoughts a whirlwind. Her expression was unreadable, but her fingers lightly touched her lips as she replayed the moment Yami crushed Charlos' head.
Back in Cocoyasi Village, as Yami ended the broadcast, he turned to face the gathered villagers, freed slaves, Nami, Nojiko, and Tashigi. Their expressions ranged from awe to fear, admiration to uncertainty.
He had just declared war on the world.
Tashigi took a step forward, her voice unsteady. "Yami… you…" She didn't know what to say.
Yami simply smiled, looking at them with a righteous expression.
Internally, however, he was laughing.
'What homeland? I just wanted an excuse for war! This is going to be fun!'
