Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Hearing the Voice of All Things

"Hahahaha!"

"Roger, are you wondering if there's actually someone on this island who could stop those rats?"

"Hahahahaha!"

"You really underestimated us Marines, you bastard!"

As Garp and Roger plummeted toward the sea together, Garp caught sight of the surprise on Roger's face and burst out laughing. Midair, Garp stomped hard with both feet. Incredibly, his body surged back upward and charged toward Roger again.

"It was unexpected, I'll admit that," Roger said, his tone calm. "But there's no way Oden would lose to any of your Marines."

As he plummeted, Roger raised his sword to block just as Garp's fist came crashing down from above. The punch struck Roger's blade directly, smashing him from the air.

BOOM!!!

A massive splash erupted across the sea as Roger hit the water.

Having landed a direct hit, Garp didn't linger. He cast one last glance at the spot Roger had fallen, then stepped into the air using Geppo, rocketing back toward the harbor.

But just a second after Garp left, Roger launched himself from the sea like a cannonball. Hovering for a brief instant midair, he stepped down and propelled himself like a missile toward the harbor.

In the sky, Garp spotted Roger skimming across the ocean surface at high speed. Instead of attacking, he simply laughed and picked up speed.

Neither of them could fight at full strength on the sea. Only on land could they truly let loose.

Roger understood Garp's intent. He glanced upward briefly, then turned his eyes toward the center of Lodestar Island.

"Someone… stopped Oden?"

"But why can't I detect that person with my Observation Haki?"

"Just who is it?"

At the center of Lodestar Island,

Kozuki Oden's twin blades came crashing down on Yoriichi Tsugikuni's sword. Pouring raw power into his strike, Oden tried to force Yoriichi back with brute strength.

Yet what happened next defied expectations. This seemingly young Marine held his ground with ease. Despite Oden's overwhelming strength, Yoriichi's blade didn't budge, and his face didn't even flinch.

No emotion. No effort.

As if Oden's monstrous force didn't mean a thing.

"This Marine… he's strange."

"I can't even smell him."

Oden's instincts tingled with curiosity. He found himself deeply intrigued by this swordsman. Tightening his grip, he poured even more power into his strike.

Yoriichi's gaze drifted over Oden's body, calmly analyzing the way his muscles moved.

"Two-sword style, huh? That's an interesting technique."

He murmured softly, preparing to counter when suddenly, two shadows leapt from the forest, charging straight at him.

From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of two beastly warriors in human garb, one dog-headed, one feline.

"Nekomamushi. Inuarashi."

"Stay out of this."

Oden barked sharply as his two comrades tried to assist. His face showed no joy, only stern disapproval.

He was a samurai of Wano, after all. What he loved most, aside from exploring, was facing worthy opponents in battle.

And right now, Yoriichi had become his prey.

"You should worry more about yourself," Yoriichi muttered as he noticed Oden distracted mid-duel.

With a sudden burst of strength, he knocked Oden's swords aside. Then, in one fluid motion, he reversed his grip and struck back with a powerful slash aimed straight at Oden's chest.

Oden had just turned around when he saw it. A black blade wreathed in red lightning was already upon him.

He barely had time to coat himself in Armament Haki before he was struck and hurled backward by Yoriichi's devastating blow.

At the same time, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi had reached Yoriichi, their weapons poised to strike, one with a longsword, the other with a trident.

"The muscle movement of Minks really is a bit different from normal humans."

Yoriichi's voice was calm as ever, almost bored.

With a sidestep, he dodged Nekomamushi's thrust with ease. His left hand shot out and grabbed the trident mid-strike. With a violent heave,

WHAM!

He flung Nekomamushi straight into Inuarashi. The two crashed together and were sent flying toward the stone prison.

THUD!!!

A dull crash echoed as the pair smashed through the prison's stone wall and landed inside.

Inside, Shanks and Buggy, locked in their cell, jumped at the noise. They rushed to the bars and peered out to see a dog and a cat tumble into the room.

When they recognized them, both boys shouted in surprise:

"Inuarashi?!"

"Nekomamushi?!"

Hearing those familiar voices, the two Minks forgot their pain and quickly turned toward the sound.

Sunlight streamed through a crack in the roof, illuminating Shanks and Buggy's faces. Instantly, joy lit up the Minks' expressions.

"Hey! It's Shanks and Buggy!"

"You two alright?"

"Hahaha, don't worry. We'll bust you out right now!"

Nekomamushi and Inuarashi scrambled to their feet and rushed to the cell. Inuarashi grabbed the bars and pulled. With a grunt of effort, he tore a hole wide enough for the boys to crawl through.

Shanks and Buggy darted out and immediately threw themselves at their rescuers.

"Ahhhh!"

Buggy hugged Inuarashi's leg and wailed, tears streaming down his face. But midway through his sobbing, he suddenly froze. Covering his mouth with both hands, he looked around in panic.

Then, in a hushed voice, he asked urgently,

"D-Did you guys… see a young Marine with red hair when you came in?"

"He's got a red flame-shaped marking on his forehead."

At his words, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi exchanged glances. They immediately recalled the red-haired Marine they had seen at the door.

Both of them paled. Without a word, they bolted to the entrance of the stone prison.

Outside,

Yoriichi stood sideways, facing the door. Both hands gripped his blade tightly, his eyes locked on the forest beyond, expression tense.

"Oden Two-Sword Style. Gun Technique, Oni Simulation!"

Just as the two Minks reached the door, a furious roar echoed from the woods.

In the blink of an eye, Kozuki Oden launched himself from the trees, charging straight at Yoriichi.

His dual blades gleamed with Conqueror's Haki, surging with raw power.

Sun Breathing, Second Form: Clear Blue Sky

Yoriichi raised his blade, breath steady. Armament Haki surged through his body, hardening his muscles and organs.

At the exact moment of Oden's strike, he retaliated.

Their swords clashed. The impact rattled the air.

Yoriichi's counterattack followed seamlessly.

Sun Breathing, Eighth Form: Solar Heat Haze

His black blade flared red. Crimson lightning coiled along its length with a sizzle.

In one swift movement, Yoriichi sidestepped and appeared beneath Oden.

Oden was wide open.

Yoriichi's flaming blade shot toward his chest.

"I still can't sense this Marine's presence at all."

"But… the air itself is crying out, Marine."

With incredible reflexes, Oden twisted midair, using the force of Yoriichi's parry to spin his body.

CLANG! CLANG!

His twin swords deflected Yoriichi's attack just in time.

Yoriichi's eyes flickered with surprise.

Oden's Observation Haki shouldn't work on him. And yet, he had sensed the strike.

"How…? You shouldn't be able to track my movement at all."

"…You heard it, didn't you?"

"The air's cry of warning."
