Chapter 467: Anixegon's Conspiracy, The Emperor's Realm

The entire Dark City had turned into a ruin, leaving only the Celestial Vault and the Lord of Light, Anixegon, standing amidst the devastation.

He cast a cold glance at Anixegon and said icily, "I don't want to be your enemy. You can leave now!"

Fury surged within him, but there was nowhere to vent it.

"Heh," Anixegon replied with a nonchalant smile and said, "Celestial Vault, I think we could work together."

"Work together?" He eyed Anixegon suspiciously, his expression wary.

He knew all too well the deceitfulness of the Church of Light.

He was a villain, a villain through and through.

But the Church of Light was a group of hypocrites—sly, underhanded people, especially Anixegon.

He looked down on the man and had no intention of getting entangled with him.

He glanced at him again, his voice cold. "Not interested."

Yet Anixegon showed no signs of being angered. His smile remained, faint and composed. "Don't be so quick to refuse. Think about your situation. Everything you've done has already been discovered by the Overlord. Right now, you're just a pawn. If he truly escapes from the Realm of Chaos, the first person he'll want to kill is you."

Celestial Vault furrowed his brow, anger rising. "Are you threatening me?"

Anixegon shrugged indifferently. "I'm just stating facts. What do you think?"

Celestial Vault fell silent. It was true that the Overlord would never allow him to live, but he didn't trust Anixegon either.

Weighing his options, he finally spoke, "How do you propose we cooperate?"

"Are you going to continue talking to me here?" Anixegon asked, looking displeased, his gaze shifting toward the nearby volcano.

"Hmph!" Celestial Vault snorted coldly. His true body was beneath the volcano, and he couldn't allow this man to enter.

With a casual wave of his hand, the World-in-Hand appeared, enveloping both of them and cutting off any connection to the outside world.

"Now, speak," he commanded.

Anixegon studied the World-in-Hand, feeling the powerful dark energy emanating from it, which made him uncomfortable.

He understood that Celestial Vault was doing this deliberately to gain the upper hand.

But he didn't care. Instead, he spoke calmly, "You already know that the appearance of the Heaven Monument was orchestrated by me. My goal is simple: to destroy the Heavenly Stele!"

"What?" Celestial Vault's eyes widened in shock, his anger now evident as he glared at Anixegon.

The world called him a madman, but compared to Anixegon, he was far from it.

His voice turned cold with hostility. "Do you realize that if the Heavenly Stele shatters, none of us will be able to leave? We will be trapped in the Realm of Chaos forever."

"Then what?" Anixegon replied indifferently. "Let me ask you, what is there outside that could possibly attract you? You and I were both exiled here for resisting The Heaven. Once we leave, Creator God, The Heaven, their enforcers, and their lackeys will all turn against us. Do you really think you can survive that?"

Celestial Vault furrowed his brow, remaining silent.

Anixegon continued, "But here, it's different. If the two of us join forces, we have nothing to fear from the Overlord or any other Emperor-level beings. We would be the true emperors of this place. And our methods of cultivation are different—without the Heavenly Stele, we can still break free from this world and escape."

Celestial Vault felt a flicker of interest. He stared at Anixegon intently and asked, "Are you certain this plan will succeed?"

Anixegon spoke confidently, "As long as you join me, it is foolproof. I have a way to destroy the Heavenly Stele. And with our combined strength, the Demon's Sky Formation fused with the power of Light Laws, even the Overlord won't be able to stop us."

Celestial Vault's gaze flickered. He thought for a long time before responding, "I have conditions. First, the bodies of those Emperor-level beings and the Nine-Star Overseer—all of them must belong to me. Second, John must be handed over to me for disposal."

Anixegon didn't hesitate for a moment. He extended his right hand with a smile and said, "Deal!"

His method of cultivation was different from Celestial Vault's, and he had no interest in the corpses of those strong beings. All he needed were the Emperor-level treasures.

As for John, he held him in contempt—just a weak human, nothing more. Though from the Primordial Universe, he was of no value to Anixegon.

Seeing how readily Anixegon agreed, Celestial Vault remained cautious. He extended his hand and briefly shook with Anixegon.

"I will take my leave now. Wait for my news." Anixegon said, his form flashing as he disappeared without a trace.

"Hmph!" Celestial Vault sneered coldly, his eyes icy. He had to calculate the movements of the Overlord and others, but he also had to keep an eye on this man.

"Human, you'd better pray you don't live to fall into my hands." His face contorted with rage as he spoke with a chilling tone. He despised John to the core.

First, John had killed his son, Black Raven. Then, the Black Magicians under his command suffered heavy losses. Now, the destruction of Dark City was the final straw.

This grudge would not be settled until he took his revenge.

His thoughts sharpened, and he swiftly retracted the World-in-Hand, vanishing into the volcano.

Boom!

The magma splashed violently, but the terrifying heat had no effect on him.

He moved through the lava with ease, quickly descending as the surrounding magma dissipated.

Soon, he entered a vast, open cavern beneath the volcano.

As far as the eye could see, there were piles of stark white bones scattered across the ground, forming mountains. Among them, a large number of Heart of the Continent lay scattered, though their energy had long since vanished, leaving them dull and lifeless.

These were mostly The Overseers he had captured over the years.

At the center of the cave, a figure stood suspended in mid-air. The body was likewise pierced with countless tubes and conduits, which spread out in all directions, weaving through the cave and extending deep into the volcano, covering the entirety of Dark City.

Powerful streams of The power of laws flowed through the tubes, continuously merging with the body.

This body was identical to Celestial Vault's, but it lacked any trace of life.

This was his true body.

Although he could form avatars, they were nothing compared to John's One Breath, Three Purities.

One Breath, Three Purities was a godly talent—three avatars, all with life forces of their own, even independent of each other. Even if one avatar, or even the main body, perished, the others would remain unaffected.

In contrast, the avatars Celestial Vault created were merely physical forms, without any independent souls. He couldn't simultaneously control both bodies.

"I wonder how much stronger my true body has become." He muttered quietly to himself. His mind stirred, and his avatar merged directly with his true body.

Whoosh...

A terrifying aura surged as the body's eyes slowly opened, regaining their light, radiating a powerful vitality.

This was his strongest state.

He stood suspended in the air, arms slightly spread, feeling the vast power flowing through him, a look of pure satisfaction on his face.

"I'm probably strong enough to kill an Emperor in the late First Star stage. If I had another ten years, that Overlord wouldn't even be my match. It's a pity..." he spoke softly, his expression tinged with regret. Then, the immense power around him surged.

"Open!" he roared, his face contorted with pain. The tubes surrounding him exploded one after another, falling away in rapid succession.

Boom... Boom...

Thunderous sounds echoed as the overwhelming energy rampaged, and the volcano overhead once again began to boil.

But it was quickly suppressed once more.

"Huff..." He let out a long breath, landing smoothly on the ground. A voice filled with authority reverberated through the air: "Law Retracing, Restoration!"

Buzz...

The space around him trembled, and an immense flow of The power of laws surged forth—this was the Time and Space Law!

The two forces swept through the area like a gentle breeze, covering all of Dark City.

Boom...

In the city, the collapsed and destroyed buildings slowly began to restore themselves.

Before long, the entire Dark City had returned to its original state, with no trace of the earlier destruction remaining.

Time-space retracing!

However, this power could only restore inanimate objects. The dead Black Magicians could not be resurrected.

"There are still over one million Black Magicians and more than seven hundred thousand Dark Puppets..." He carefully sensed the life force in the city, his brow furrowing deeply, his expression cold as ice.

The army of over four million Black Magicians in Dark City had been whittled down to just over one million after several encounters.

Fortunately, these remaining forces were enough to set up the most powerful Demon's Sky Formation.

In addition, there were more than seven hundred thousand Dark Puppets, which could still pose a threat to Emperor-level cultivators.

"All Black Magicians, enter my World-in-Hand, and begin closed-door cultivation. After a month and a half, you will join the comprehension of the Heavenly Stele." His voice was cold and emotionless, like an endless tide that echoed throughout Dark City.

One after another, Black Magicians quickly streamed toward him, entering his World-in-Hand to begin their seclusion and training.

...

John and his companions were unaware of the events unfolding in Dark City. They had already arrived at the border between the territories of Nine Phoenix and Chaos.

This was the place they had agreed upon, where he would be tasked with expanding his own forces.

"Nine Phoenix, Chaos, would it be possible for me to move my base here as well? Of course, you may deal with my previous territory however you see fit." Heavenly King asked, turning to them.

Heavenly King wanted to join John. He had no interest in developing his own faction, even though he had many powerful subordinates, none of them were recruited by his own efforts.

"No problem." Nine Phoenix and Chaos exchanged a glance before nodding in agreement.

They trusted John and Heavenly King.

If it had been any other Emperor-level cultivator trying to build a faction in their territory, it would have been absolutely forbidden. Discover more content at My Virtual Library Empire

"Thank you." Heavenly King bowed in gratitude.

He then turned to John and said, "Young brother John, from now on I will reside in your territory. If you need any assistance, feel free to ask."

"It's a pleasure," John replied, his tone joyful. His strength was now nearly on par with Emperor-level cultivators, but with Heavenly King stationed in his territory, he would feel much more at ease.

"By the way," John suddenly remembered something and looked toward the others, asking, "Seniors, is that Overlord being above the Emperor level?"

Overlord had given him a strong impression. Even just a clone of his emitted power that seemed to rival an Emperor's tribulation.

Heavenly King also looked curious. He knew of Overlord's existence, but he wasn't sure what level of cultivation the figure had attained.

Nine Phoenix paused for a moment before responding, "Fine, although your cultivation hasn't reached the Emperor level, your strength is already comparable to one, so you are capable of understanding these things."

She explained, "In truth, Emperor-level cultivators and The Overseers are also divided into nine stars. Chaos and I are mid-stage First Star Emperors, while Heavenly King has just broken through and is in the early stage of First Star. As for Overlord, he is already a late-stage Second Star Emperor. There is also another Second Star Emperor in the early stage, the Ruthless Emperor. Other than them, the rest are all First Star Emperors."
