Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Rias vs Riser
I clenched my fists, anger bubbling inside me. How dare she laugh at Buchou like that? We'd been training so hard, and I knew Buchou was capable of incredible things. Alex's training had been brutal, but it had made us all stronger.
"Let's show them what we can do, Kiba," I said, turning to my comrade.
Kiba's eyes were still filled with cold determination, his mind clearly focused on the holy sword wielder Carlamaine had mentioned. "Right," he replied, gripping his demonic sword tightly.
The rest of Raiser's servants began to close in on us. I counted the enemies: two [Pawns], one [Bishop], and one [Knight]. It was going to be a tough fight, especially since I'd already expended a lot of energy defeating Isabella.
I glanced over at Kiba. "Ready?"
Kiba nodded, his expression resolute. "Let's take them down."
The enemy [Pawns] charged at us first, their faces twisted with determination. I sidestepped the first one's punch and countered with a quick jab, knocking her back. The second one swung a chain at me, which I managed to dodge, but just barely.
"[Boost!]" I heard the familiar voice of boosted gear in my mind, and I felt the surge of power flow through me. I needed to make every hit count.
With renewed energy, I rushed forward, delivering a powerful punch to the second [Pawn], sending her flying back. Koneko-chan would have been proud of that hit.
Meanwhile, Kiba was locked in a fierce duel with Carlamaine. Their swords clashed, sending sparks flying. Kiba was relentless, his strikes swift and precise. Carlamaine was skilled, but Kiba's determination and training were giving him the edge.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the [Bishop] preparing a spell. "Kiba, watch out!" I shouted, but he was too engrossed in his fight to notice.
I had to act fast. Summoning all the demonic energy I could muster, I aimed a blast at the [Bishop], interrupting her spell. She stumbled, giving me the opening I needed to rush at her and deliver a decisive blow.
With the [Bishop] down, I turned my attention to the remaining [Knight]. She was skilled, but I could tell she was getting tired. I just had to outlast her.
The sound of clashing swords intensified as Kiba and Carlamaine's duel reached its peak. Kiba's killing intent was palpable, and for a moment, I was worried he might lose himself in his rage.
But then I saw it—the moment Kiba's sword found its mark. With a swift and final strike, Carlamaine fell.
Kiba stood there, panting heavily, his eyes slowly returning to their usual calm demeanor. "It's over," he said quietly, his voice filled with a mix of relief and lingering anger.
I turned back to the remaining [Knight], who seemed to lose her resolve after seeing Carlamaine fall. "Do you still want to fight?" I asked, my voice steady but firm.
She hesitated for a moment before dropping her weapon and stepping back. "No... I surrender," she said, her voice trembling.
[Riser Phenex 2 pawns, Bishop and Knight have been retired.]
Along with.
[Riser Phenex Queen have been retired.]
With the immediate threat neutralized, I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. "Kiba, we did it. And Akeno-san also finished her opponent."
He nodded, sheathing his sword. "Yeah, we did."
But our victory was bittersweet. We still had Buchou to worry about. I looked up at the sky, where Rias and Raiser were engaged in their duel. The flames and black wings were a stark contrast against the night sky.
"[Issey-san! Can you hear me, Issey-san!?]" Asia's voice came through the transceiver again.
"Asia! What's happening with Buchou?" I asked, my voice filled with urgency.
"[Buchou is fighting Raiser-san one-on-one, but I'm worried...]" Her voice was filled with concern.
I gritted my teeth. We couldn't afford to lose Buchou. Not now. "Asia, hang in there. We're coming to help."
I turned to Kiba. "Let's go. Buchou needs us."
He nodded, his resolve as strong as ever. "Right. Let's finish this."
With that, we rushed towards the rooftop, ready to support Buchou in her fight against Raiser. We couldn't let her face him alone.
As we sprinted through the corridors of the school, my mind raced with a mix of fear and determination.
We burst through the doors leading to the rooftop, and the sight before us was both awe-inspiring and terrifying.
Rias and Raiser were locked in a fierce battle, their powers clashing with explosive force.
Raiser's flames roared around him, while Rias's demonic energy crackled with intensity.
"Buchou!" I shouted, catching her attention for a split second. She glanced at us, a determined smile on her face.
"Issey, Kiba, stay back! This is my fight!" she called out, her voice unwavering despite the strain of the battle.
"Let her be Issey," Akeno said as she landed next to me.
"It's seems like she is determined to fight him in her own terms. And this is also good for her growth."
