Overlord: The Multiverse

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Winner

"Issey, Kiba, stay back! This is my fight!" I called out, trying to keep my voice steady despite the weight of the battle pressing down on me.

I could see the concern in Issey's eyes, the frustration etched on her face as she struggled with the idea of standing by while I fought alone.

It warmed my heart, knowing that my servants cared so deeply for me, but this was something I had to do on my own.

This battle wasn't just about defeating Raiser—it was about proving my strength, my resolve as a leader, and my worth as the heiress of the Gremory clan.

A sudden shift in the air caught my attention, and I saw Akeno land gracefully beside Issey. "Let her be, Issey," she said softly, her voice calm and reassuring. "It seems like she is determined to fight him on her own terms. And this is also good for her growth."

Akeno understood. She always did. We had been together for so long that she could read me better than anyone else. She knew how important this was to me.

I turned my focus back to Raiser, who was smirking arrogantly, his flames flickering with renewed intensity. He thought he had the upper hand, that his immortality made him invincible. But I was determined to prove him wrong.

"This ends here, Raiser," I said, summoning all of my remaining strength. My demonic power surged through me, crackling with energy as it formed a barrier around me.

I could feel the weight of my family's legacy on my shoulders, but instead of being a burden, it fueled my resolve.

Raiser's smirk widened. "You're bold, Rias, but can you really defeat me? An immortal?"

That Ravel, she let them pass, Riser murmur to himself.

I didn't answer. Words were meaningless now. I needed to show him with my actions, to prove that the Gremory bloodline was not something to be taken lightly.

With a fierce cry, I unleashed a wave of demonic energy, sending it hurtling toward Raiser. He countered with a torrent of flames, and for a moment, the rooftop was engulfed in a blinding light as our powers clashed.

The force of the collision sent shockwaves through the air, and I could feel the strain on my body as I pushed against his flames. But I couldn't falter now. I wouldn't.

"Come on, Rias," I whispered to myself, gritting my teeth. "You can do this."

I pushed harder, drawing on every ounce of power I had left. The thought of my friends—Issey, Akeno, Kiba, Asia—gave me strength. They were counting on me. I couldn't let them down.

There is one last face which I don't think I can forget in this lifetime. The one who made it possible for me fight against Riser in equal terms, My Alex.

Slowly, I began to gain ground. My demonic energy started to overpower Raiser's flames, pushing them back toward him. His eyes widened in shock, and I saw the first hint of fear in his expression.

"Impossible," he muttered, his confidence wavering. "I am Raiser Phenex! I cannot be defeated!"

But even immortals have their limits. And Raiser was reaching his maximum mental capacity as his control over flames started waver.

With one final push, I broke through his flames and struck him with my full power. The force of the impact sent him crashing to the rooftop, his flames sputtering out as he lay there, stunned.

I stood over him, my breath coming in ragged gasps, but I didn't let my guard down. I couldn't afford to.

"It's over, Raiser," I said, my voice steady despite my exhaustion. "You've lost."

Raiser struggled to rise, but his body refused to obey him. He looked up at me, his eyes filled with disbelief. "How... how could I lose?"

"Because you underestimated me," I replied, my gaze unwavering. "You thought your immortality made you invincible. But power isn't just about strength or longevity. It's about determination, resolve, and the will to protect those you care about. That's something you can't understand, Raiser. And that's why you lost."

For a moment, there was only silence. Then, slowly, Raiser's expression shifted from shock to acceptance. He had been defeated, and he knew it.

Grayfia's voice cut through the air, clear and authoritative. "Raiser Phenex has been defeated. The winner is Rias Gremory."

The weight of her words hit me all at once, and I felt my legs start to give out. But before I could collapse, Akeno was there, supporting me, her arm around my shoulders.

"You did it, Rias," she said softly, her voice filled with pride.

I nodded, too exhausted to speak, but the relief and joy in my heart were overwhelming. I had won. Not just for myself, but for everyone who had believed in me, who had stood by my side through it all.

As Grayfia began to wrap up the match, I turned to my friends—my family—and smiled. We had done it together. And I knew, with them by my side, there was nothing we couldn't overcome.

As we descended from the rooftop, I caught a glimpse of Issey's face, her eyes shining with admiration and pride.

It warmed my heart, and I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.

But I want see Alex, I wanted hear his praise.
