Percy Jackson and the Art of Gacha

It has been a few weeks since Grover and I became roommates. We got along swimmingly and the lessons in school were only getting more fun since I had the chance to talk with another person. Yes the snakes were funny and all but we can get bored of each other since we are 24/7 together.

I had some fun with pranking people together with Grover. We once made waterbombs and hid them in the teachers desk. Did anyone come to harm by those pranks? No, we were pretty insistent that no one should be embarrassed or harmed by them.

The teachers couldn't really figure out who did the pranks but they still blamed me for it, even though I had been a model student up until now, or atleast as close to one as I could be.

Reading was originally hard for me just as writing was but with the help of my items, I managed to overcome it.

I was good with physics and sports but not good at anything else.

Grover was how he was portrayed in the books, even with the crutches and being allowed to never do sports.

We have had a fun two weeks but now things have been changing a bit.

My nightmares have started again, or atleast the have come to the point where I start to wake up from them. I have been developing eyebags and they won't leave.

And to have it even worse I still haven't figured out how to grind my other skills with Grover around.

Sure I can use the Workshop and I can proudly say that my Blacksmith Skill has reached Level 25, allowing me to apply enchantments without the need for inscriptions. But instead of changing to the new method I just use both at the same time.

Tonight, it was just past midnight making this the 01. October, I decided to experiment with my skills. Theoraticly if I were to enter the Workshop and then use ID Create I could probably start grinding again.

Could I do the Gacha Spins now? Hell yeah I could but I didn't want to. The nightmare just now, which even though it wasn't as bad as the first, still resonated through my thoughts.

I remembered only being stabbed by someone with a Celestial Bronze sword and then falling apart only to wake up in Tartarus but not in my body. I was turned into a spider in Tartarus, small and with no real power or anything like that. I had to fight and survive just to be killed over and over again until I became quite big at some point from all the monsters I ate.

Well that was new, I thought I would only get a new Template from nightmares at the level of the first one?

So how does this compare to the other one?

[This Template allows you to become a spider of considerable size, about as big as a small family van. The bite is venomous and deadly to humans and more, you can also spit balls of venom and webs from a distance. Also this form has no real growth limit as long as it eats something it will grow, even if not it will grow with age. The title is misleading however, as the host can switch genders in this form. Curtain skills have bled over to the main body.]

[The removal of growth limits, another form of this was also derived from it allowing for the removal of power growth limits.

Turns out I am now a budget Spiderman. I could already stick to walls though thanks to the Gauntlets.

Anyway System, let me test my theory.

I entered the workshop and then the dungeon. After waiting a few minutes without doing anything I left again to check if time had passed.

It turned out that I was right and so I went back into the dungeon and started grinding.

This time I was going to test out some equipment and level up my combat skills.

I wore my Weavers Armor and strapped my Dulahans Sword and the Black Crest to my back.

Once I entered the Zombie Dungeon I appeared where I had left from. Time seemed to have passed as there were new Zombies around. Some of them looked like they did before but there were also two or three Zombies that looked different.

One was small and thin with longer limbs. I guessed that it was probably a speed type one.

Another was big and tall. It had bulging muscles but appeared slower and the last one was for some reason dressed in a robe.

The one in the robe was probably a mage type while the tall one was most likely a tank type.

I decided to do the best thing first. I created some distance between me and them and climbed to a roof.

But I knew something that was always important when preparing for ranged attacks. Always have a way to relocate fast if you are not absolutely confident that no one would ever spot you taking your shots.

While I knew I could jump and parkour with the new war mask I wanted to try out my spider legs. So I activated the skill.

Suddenly I could feel the armor shifting and new sensations grew from my back. Long and thin legs grew around me, eight in total. They were covered in thick black hairs with sharp claws at the tips. I realized that they were unlike those of normal spiders which had ranging from one to three claws in the form of small hocks.

I had three claws on each limb and I could move them a bit. This allowed me to click them together and when I did it would stay together until I consciously released them.

When they were clicked together they were more like a spear tip but with three sides similar to a bayonet. Also the claws didn't grow out of the tips of the legs but were the tips.

I moved the legs to the ground and pushed myself up with my feet leaving the ground. Once they were stretched out completely i was able to look into a window on the first floor.

I lowered my self a bit so I could actually move with the legs but my feet still remained of the ground by atleast a meter.

Once I had familiarized myself with these new limbs I began climbing a wall. I was on the roof of a five story building within seconds.

I pulled them closer to my back and was genuinely surprised when the practically folded into themselves without any of them being visible behind my back.

I took position with the Bow an considered which zombies to take out first. The speedy zombie was probably first since I didn't know how fast it was and then I would relocate before going after the mage. Then I would take out some of the zombies and try to take out the tank before engaging in combat with my new sword andaybe even the cane.

I pushed some mana into the bow and pulled back the string. The arrow that appeared was neutral in color looking like a normal arrow should. I had no intention of incorporating affinities today.

I took aim and released it before running to the edge of the roof and launching myself across the gap by explosively shoving the spider legs into the roof below.

I cleared the gab clean and landed in the middle of the next roof before repeating this twice more.

During this the arrow had struck down the speed zombie and the mage had started moving it's arms.

I observed as it finished what it was doing and an explosion happened on a roof. The mage had probably tried to guess on which one had been before but it had aimed for the wrong one.

I took aim again and fired but the arrow was blocked by a barrier. The images head snapped around to the roof I was on and did a new gesture with its hand. The roof began to shake and I jumped of just before it collapsed in on itself. Not seeing much of a chance to continue long distance attacks I chose to go for midrange next.

I pulled the Snapping Cane from my inventory and willed it into whip form. Before I lifted my arm and started whipping the approaching zombies. The blades of the whip cut through the low level zombies with ease with each snap. Then the tank came closer and I decided to wrap it around its neck attempting to decapitate it.

Instead the Zombie grabbed it and yanked me towards it. It let go when I was closer and punched out. The punch, which managed to hit me, cracked the armor on my left leg and I knew there would be a bruise in the morning but I still continued to fight.

Because if I didn't I knew I would likely regret it in the future.

I dematerialised the whip and switched to the sword.

Evertime the zombie would come closer I would slash and pierce its skin, slowly whittling away at its strength all the while I was dodging the images attacks. Then the mage managed to make me dodge an attack while the tank was trying to hit me again resulting in me losing the sword.

I backed away but the tank just followed me so I punched out with one of my spiderlegs.

It pierced through the Zombies entire torso coming out on its back. I retracted it just as fast, leaving a gaping hole in the zombies chest, because I feared it would grab my leg and tear it of.

Once the Zombie was clearly crippled I closed in the distance and delivered a spinning kick to its head taking it of in one move.

This left the mage behind and I had something special for this one. I couldn't risk the mage having any form of self destruction or other nonsense so I pulled out the Rifle and created more distance again. I cast an illusion that moved left while I hid under another one which made me invisible to the mage. I lowered myself to the ground, switched the ammunition to piercing ones and took aim. The mages chest was right in my crosshair and while I pulled the trigger the mage exploded the area where my illusion was. I flinched and the bullet diverged form its planned course but still hit the zombies left side, taking out a big chunk of it.

I reloaded while it was disoriented and aimed again. This time I hit center mass and the zombie was gone. Simply gone as if it never existed in the first place.

I managed to kill 27 normal zombies and then the three special ones which resulted in me getting some new skills.

There were no rewards attached to this notification and I was kind of happy about that. I did poorly in my own opinion but I knew I would get better over time.

I returned to the dorms and stored my equipment. Time had not moved since I completed my experiment.

But now, after the fights and combined with my nightmare, the spider legs had already disappeared by now, I just couldn't sleep so I did the only thing I could possibly do right now without either working in the workshop or waking up Grover and that was the Gacha.

System, please explain the liquid shadow, chaos awakening and the bloodlines and domains.

[1. Liquid Shadows: A material spawned when an amortal being is killed, a manifestation of paradoxes. Can be used in weapons and other items against/for amortal beings.

2. Chaos Awakening: In one of the many Harry Potter fanfictions the chaos awakening is when the person is the only one of their kind or an especially strong member of their race. It sends the user back in time to where they are meant to be. It results in a separate creature-awakening. But since host is already a "creature" it would likely just enhance or create new domains. It is advised to use this when the host has maxed out atleast two of their domains. Can only be used once the user has reached the age of 14 years.

3. Demon Bloodline: You will have a connection to the dimensions of Hell, become a demon with attributes fitting to your current situation.

4. Anubis Bloodline: You will be able to become an Anubis (The Form of the God but with a demigod status. You would be more of an humanoid jackal). This makes you a succesor/child of Anubis. Upon use you will gain the ability to shapeshift into the form of an Anubis befitting your age. Please be aware that while you can potentially become another Anubis(God) you will only have Abilities of a child of his until such a time where you have reached the required strength.

5. Elven Bloodline: You are closely connected to nature, spiritual energies and are now able to use the same smiting techniques as the elven smiths of LOTR.

6. Domian- Death: You have now the Core Domain of Death. It is now your job to deliver wandering spirits to where they belong.

7. Domain-Deep Sea: The Deapths of the seas and its trenches and inhabitants are yours to command. This domain will be enhanced once your father Poseidon claims you.]

System,can it be that you are making me OP on purpose. Why do I even have all these domains? It just makes me work more.

[Host the System is preparing you for a world of God's, titans and primordials. Right now, even though you think to be overpowered you are only slightly stronger than a claimed demigod. Of course this will change once you have connected and maxed out your domains but it will take time and effort to do so.]

Very well then system, can you please set me a goal to max out atleast two domains before the end of this school year? I would like to be strong enough to fight and win against Ares even without being claimed.

[It will be done host but there will be no rewards from reaching this goal. However there will be one for maxing out your first domain. The only thing that is left is for you to choose which domain it will be.]
