Chapter 16: Training continues

Chapter 16

Elsa and I decided to finally end the depressive part of the day by mutual agreement with a couple of pieces of cake, naturally strawberry, although just for the sake of variety, we also ordered one piece of chocolate, but even though the chocolate cake was not bad, our preference remained unchanged. Then, having charged ourselves with a mood, so to speak, thanks to the sweets, we moved on to training. Today we decided to try sword training for the first time in the sparring format.

Naturally, I had foreseen all the too great dangers. We were dressed in armor, we had support charms to protect us from wounds, and our swords were dull. By the way, I decided to review the armor I was wearing and instead of leather, I now had armor that was a mixture of plate armor, with particularly dense looking scaly chainmail and tight-fitting leather. From the plate, I had a breastplate with a high collar to protect my neck, greaves and a mask to protect my face, and the chainmail protected me under the armor and extended to my hands like gloves. From the leather, I had a tight, highly durable, temperature-regulating suit and, on top of that, a cloak with a hood that was attached to the collarbone area on the breastplate and was large enough to wrap yourself in and use as additional protection. To be honest, the color was too noticeable. White with gold patterns. However, I just really liked the look of it, and it provided good protection, and thanks to magic, despite all its protective properties, it weighed absolutely nothing. For Elsa, we have only found training armor so far, and we have yet to collect truly useful armor with weapons in a combat sense.

Our training duel started quite quickly. We jumped up and crossed our blades while trying to strike at the neck, then we were faced with a confrontation at close range. Attempts to turn the opponent's sword so that we could deliver one quick thrust to defeat the opponent and not make unnecessary movements. Only efficiency and beauty can be left for festivals, now we are learning to quickly and effectively defeat the opponent.

At first, our skirmishes ended very quickly, literally 2-3 exchanges of blows and one of us successfully struck the other, after which we started over. Then we began to get used to each other more and more, and a couple of blows turned into a dozen until someone made a mistake or made some unexpected move. So gradually, without noticing it, we began to add magic to our bodies little by little, strengthening them, thereby increasing our reaction speed and the strength of the body itself, thereby further increasing the time of our skirmishes, until an hour later I ran out of mana and I plopped down on the ground, exhausted, because I had already habitually supported both of us with healing magic, thereby safely accelerating our development.

-Wendy! - My friend, unsurprisingly, ran up to me. - Are you okay?

- Yes. I just ran out of manna. - I answered my friend with a tired smile.

- In that case, when you recover, we'll move on to magic training. I think we've trained with swords enough for today. - Elsa decided and added. - I'll be right back.

- Okay. - I answered my friend who was leaving, who returned 2 minutes later in her everyday clothes. She was wearing a blue dress and a white blouse. Coming up to me, she sat down next to me and laid my head on her lap.

- I think it will be more convenient this way. - She explained her actions. Although, to be honest, I am all for it, besides, it is possible that my intentions for the future are beginning to become mutual, however, this is something that cannot be rushed, especially since it is still early.

- By the way, don't you want to talk about what you dreamed about? - Elsa asked me.

- Well, I suppose it would be unfair not to tell you something like that, when I know a lot about your life myself. - Having resigned myself to my friend's curiosity, I began. Moreover, I never planned to make it a secret from her. - I dreamed about my past life. From the very birth, I was aware of everything that happened around me and remembered who I was in my past life.

"Past life?" the red-haired girl asked in bewilderment.

- Yes. Many people wonder what awaits us all after death. And I'm not sure how it is for others, but at one moment I was dying of a heart condition, and at another I already saw my new mother in this world. And I dreamed about how I lived and how I died. You know, sometimes when I go to bed I'm afraid. That one day I'll wake up in a hospital room, and everything that happened to me in this world will turn out to be just a dream. - Once again, upset by depressive thoughts, I answered.

- Don't worry, this is definitely not a dream! - my friend answered and quickly kissed me on the cheek and turned away, looking away as if nothing had just happened.

And I answered with a stupid smile, rubbing my cheek. - And how can I be sure that this is not a dream, when everything seems so wonderful. - At my words, my friend's face turned red to match her hair and she quickly answered.

- Come on, eat air quickly and recover! We still have to train!

- Yes, captain! - I answered cheerfully and, rising from my friend's knees, began to absorb the magic of water and wind from the surrounding environment at full power in order to restore energy, simultaneously entering a state of dragon fury, which, on the wave of emotional roller coasters, was even stronger than usual, increasing my reserve by as much as 10% at a time.

- Forward, my battle friend, we need to reach new heights! - And today I was able to use the telekinesis spell for the first time without concentrating on creating a magic circle. But it didn't give me control over the magic, so at the first successful attempt I simply threw a huge boulder at high speed somewhere into the sea, and fell down with repeated exhaustion.

"Oops," I said, lying face down on the ground.

"It looks like I'll be training alone," Elsa said calmly, pulling me back onto her lap and starting to practice multitasking, trying to manage 6 things at the same time, in different directions.

- But now all I have left to do is train my control in telekinesis magic, - I said happily.

"So, you're going to finish your magic training so quickly almost all the time now?" asked her friend.

-Well, if I can lie on your lap, then I don't mind ending my workout so quickly for the rest of my life.

- Be more serious, - I heard my friend's voice, receiving a fist of love on the head.

-Okay, okay. I understand, I think in a couple of days I can learn at least not to release the entire reserve in one spell, and then I'll get down to cold magic.

"Why do you need cold magic anyway?" Elsa asked.

- It's just that cold magic at a certain level will combine well with lightning magic. If I can reach a level where I can create a temperature at absolute zero, then even if the enemy can defend against the attack, any shield he has will still become a superconductor and then lightning magic will come into play. And if you add ice to the dragon's roar with the elements of wind and water, then the cutting power of such an attack will greatly increase, and I just want to recreate the magic of an ice dragon slayer.

"If I want to learn dragon slayer magic in the future, will you help me?" Elsa asked surprisingly timidly.

- Of course! You are a half-dragon, so there shouldn't be any negative consequences for you. The main thing is to find out what kind of magic your dragon side is close to. Speaking of sides. I don't know what kind of magic my other half of the family tree belongs to either. - I thought at the end.

-Then we'll find out together later, - Elsa said excitedly and added, - But for now, you need to do some training, I'm more than sure that you already have enough strength. So come on, get up.

Having regretfully parted with my comfortable knees, I began trying to fix my energy overuse problem. This time I took the matter seriously, because I couldn't disappoint my friend.
