Phoenix Reborn In One Piece

Chapter 302: Chapter 302: Akainu – I Want to Duel Ryuen!

Half a day passed quickly.

The sun slowly sank below the horizon, painting the sky with colorful clouds.

The Dream wasn't sailing fast, and it was already too late to reach Punk Hazard today. Everyone had to spend the night on the sea.

But for the Dream Exploration Group, this wasn't anything new.

They were used to it.

After dinner, everyone went to rest early, except for Ryuen, who stayed up to keep watch.

Thanks to his team of sharp-eyed birds, the job wasn't hard for him.

The deck was empty. Ryuen lay back on the lookout platform above the mast, staring at the star-filled sky as his thoughts drifted.

A few owls stood quietly beside him, watching the surroundings closely and keeping the night calm.

"Punk Hazard..." Ryuen muttered, lost in thought.

"That damn brat got sent to Punk Hazard around Year 1522 of the Sea Circle... which means I'll have to go back again later..." There was a chill in Ryuen's voice.

"Whoo?"

Hearing him speak, a few owls turned to him with puzzled looks, as if asking, "Who's the damn brat?"

Ryuen chuckled and gently stroked their feathers. "Even if I told you, you wouldn't know. Just keep watch. I'm gonna take a nap..."

With that, he lay down comfortably, closed his eyes, and soon drifted into a peaceful sleep.

The owls glanced at each other, then quietly returned to their spots, focusing once again on the directions they were assigned to watch.

The long night quietly passed, and the light of dawn slowly broke through.

As the first ray of sunlight rose from the distant sea horizon, the bright glow instantly cut through the darkness and lit up the world.

At that very moment, Ryuen slowly opened his eyes.

"Pretty sure I'm gonna get some angry calls today... but honestly, I love seeing them all flustered, knowing there's nothing they can do about it..." Ryuen stood up and stretched with a lazy grin.

"Good morning, Lord Ryuen Ryuen!" Just then, Liv woke up too. She walked onto the deck, looked up at Ryuen in the lookout, and greeted him with a smile.

"Just call me Ryuen. Why are you up so early? Why not sleep a bit longer?" Ryuen looked down at her warmly.

Damn!

No wonder the nobles are all crazy about her... that's... really big and really white... uh... I didn't mean to stare...

Ryuen quickly looked away, then jumped down from the lookout to the deck.

"Okay, Ryuen."

"I barely slept last night. I kept tossing and turning, couldn't stop thinking about what might happen today..." Liv answered, looking a little tired.

"Uh... don't worry too much, Liv."

He gently tried to comfort her, "Akainu just became Fleet Admiral. He's bound to make a move. If he doesn't, people will start doubting the kind of justice he stands for."

"Yeah... I hope so. But even if he doesn't act now, one day, I'll get my revenge with my own hands!" Her voice was soft, but Ryuen could feel the determination in her words.

Just then, the rest of the crew started waking up and came out to the deck. They stretched and rubbed their eyes, still looking a bit sleepy.

As more people showed up, the sound of footsteps and cheerful greetings filled the deck.

"Morning, everyone..."

"Morning~"

Everyone greeted each other. A few of the girls, like Nami, were still yawning.

"Looks like everyone's excited to see today's paper," Ryuen said with a small smile.

"Of course!"

"I really wanna see the look on Akainu's face when he reads today's news~" Lias said, clearly enjoying the idea of some drama.

"It's still early~"

"Let's have breakfast first. By the time we're done eating, the newspaper should be here." Daisy rubbed her little belly and spoke softly.

"I'll go make breakfast then," Anya said and headed to the kitchen.

A few minutes later, a table full of delicious food was carried out to the long dining table on the deck. The smell was amazing and made everyone's mouth water.

They all sat down around the table, enjoying the hearty meal, chatting and laughing as they ate.

Just then, a news bird flew in from the distance. It circled the sky a few times, then did a smooth glide and landed neatly on the deck of the Dream.

"It's finally here!"

Lias shouted excitedly. She quickly put down her food and ran over to the news bird.

Everyone else also paused what they were doing, all eyes on the bird and the newspaper bag it carried.

The bird seemed to know exactly what it was doing. It reached into the bag and pulled out a newspaper, handing it to Lias.

Lias took the paper with an eager look on her face.

Then she picked up a juicy piece of meat from the table, held it out to the bird, and said, "Here, thanks for your hard work. Have some meat~"

"Caw~"

The news bird chirped happily, swallowed the meat in one gulp, flapped its wings a few times, and flew away from the Dream.

"Quick, take a look!" Nami urged excitedly.

Everyone quickly gathered around Leah, their eyes fixed on the newspaper.

Leah opened it right away.

"Hehe~"

"Morgans really knows how to stir things up. Once he adds his touch, it always hits people right where it counts," Daisy said with a grin as she looked at the paper.

"He was born for this kind of thing…" Nojiko added.

After reading the front page, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. They were sure Akainu wouldn't be able to stay calm after seeing it.

"Blub blub blub~~"

Suddenly, the large Den Den Mushi on the table started ringing urgently.

"Yo~"

"That was quick~" Ryuen smiled and picked up the Den Den Mushi. "Who is it?"

"You bastard!"

"Ryuen, it was you, wasn't it?!" Sengoku's voice came through right away.

"Inspector Sengoku?"

"Oh, it's you. What are you talking about? I don't get it. I just woke up!" Ryuen pulled the Den Den Mushi away from his ear a bit, scratched his ear, and spoke slowly.

"Don't play dumb with me! Morgans would never dare publish something like this unless you gave the order!" Sengoku shouted.

"Come on, Inspector Sengoku, you're not even the Fleet Admiral anymore. Why are you getting all worked up? Akainu should be the one panicking, not you…" Ryuen replied calmly.

"Huh?"

"Oh, right, I forgot I'm not the Fleet Admiral anymore… Fine, whatever."

"Oh, by the way~"

"Sakazuki's already on the move. He's furious. Looks like once he settles this matter, he wants to duel you!"
