PIRATES: I WORK IN NAVY FROM NINE TO FIVE

Chapter 136: CHAPTER 136-Fusion of Haki – The Admiral's Crushing Might

Ding!

"Congratulations, Host. The fusion card has been successfully applied to Armament Haki. Your Armament Haki now possesses the attribute of fusing with all things."

The ethereal voice of the system echoed once more.

Luo Yu instantly felt a tremendous transformation surge through his Armament Haki—one that could only be described as earth-shattering.

Previously, if he had tried to overlay Armament Haki onto techniques like Thousand-Hand Guanyin or Hundred-Style Kannon, it would have triggered a fierce clash, ultimately ending in failure due to rejection between forces.

But now, with the fusion card active, the Armament Haki had been granted a unique property—fusion.

With just a single thought, Luo Yu could now perfectly blend his techniques, without any fear of internal conflict or repulsion.

Even his previously vulnerable defense could now be reinforced through the merged Armament Haki, pushing his durability to new heights.

And if this newly fused Armament Haki were layered onto his Conqueror's Haki shockwave?

The explosive power would no doubt multiply exponentially!

"Heh… So this is your Conqueror's Haki? Still nothing impressive compared to Rocks."

Patrick Redfield's ancient voice sounded again, though his clouded eyes were filled with visible shock.

Despite his derisive tone, he could not deny the truth: Luo Yu had suppressed both him and Douglas Bullet—two monsters from the old era—using sheer Conqueror's Haki alone.

It defied everything he thought he knew.

If he hadn't barely managed to withstand Luo Yu's onslaught, he wouldn't even have had the breath left to spout such hollow bravado.

And if he knew that Luo Yu still had one more trump card—Beastial Haki Form—he probably wouldn't even be standing right now.

"Hah, weren't you looking so smug earlier, brat? Let's see how you plan to crush me with Haki now!"Bullet sneered, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Even if relying on Redfield felt unsatisfying, he wasn't about to let the chance to save face slip by.

"Then I suppose I'll get a little serious."

Luo Yu gave a relaxed smile as he took a sip of sake.

That simple act made both Redfield and Bullet pause, faces twitching in disbelief—until their eyes went wide with utter shock.

"You're layering Armament Haki… over your Conqueror's Haki?!"

BOOM!

A new wave of Conqueror's Haki erupted from Luo Yu's body, far stronger than anything before.

But this time, it wasn't alone.

A black sheen like liquid lightning—his Armament Haki—rushed forth, coating the shockwave in a terrifying overlay of destructive force.

In that instant, the two forms of Haki merged completely, forming a tidal wave of pressure that crashed forward with the fury of a tempest, tearing through the stalemated battlefield.

BOOM!!!

A thunderous explosion erupted.

The resulting shockwave howled like a hurricane, sweeping through all of Level 6.

Everything in its path was pulverized as if made of paper.

The prison cells that once held Redfield and Bullet—supposedly indestructible—were obliterated without resistance.

The two old legends, their faces frozen in shock and disbelief, were struck head-on by the fused Haki wave.

CRACK!

All of Impel Down trembled violently.

It was like an earthquake, as though a giant had shifted in its sleep.

Even the sea outside churned into monstrous waves from the impact.

Throughout the prison, guards and Marines were instantly jolted into action.

INTRUDER ALERT!

Sirens wailed across the prison, blaring so loud they pierced the sky.

In the 800-year history of Impel Down, that alarm had only sounded once—during the escape of the Golden Lion.

Now, after decades of silence, it roared again.

Like a well-oiled machine, the entire facility sprang into motion.

Urgent distress signals were immediately sent out.

After the Golden Lion incident, the prison had become hyper-alert, like a bowstring pulled tight.

No matter what happened, immediate response was always protocol.

Especially now—just half an hour ago, the newly appointed Marine admiral, Taiote Luo Yu, had delivered two high-risk inmates with ties to the Yonko.

If the Four Emperors were to arrive in force…

Even the so-called impregnable Impel Down might not survive.

RUMBLE!

Back on Level 6, the aftershock from Luo Yu's fused Haki was still spreading.

Dust and debris billowed through the air.

Everyone stared blankly, stunned beyond words.

What once was the unbreachable fortress of Level 6… had now been leveled.

People were beginning to wonder if they were dreaming.

To the outside world, Level 6 of Impel Down was synonymous with invincibility.

Yet now it hadn't just been breached—it had been annihilated.

And the one responsible wasn't some pirate lord—it was a Marine admiral!

If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, no one would have believed it.

What was even more shocking were the so-called "demonic" inmates—now embedded in walls and bleeding from the mouth, unconscious from the impact of the Conqueror's Haki.

Were these truly the monsters they'd feared for so long?

Compared to Luo Yu, who was literally in a hurry to clock out of work, they seemed almost laughable.

As for Redfield and Bullet?

They had been knocked clean into the prison walls, their eyes rolled back, completely unconscious.

If they had known their fate beforehand…

They would never have dared challenge the authority of an admiral rushing to get off shift.

What no one could have predicted was just how many ways Luo Yu could manipulate a simple thing like Conqueror's Haki.

"Ahem… Apologies, Warden Magellan. I may have gotten a little carried away and destroyed half your Level 6. Hope you don't mind."

Luo Yu coughed awkwardly as he surveyed the devastation.

"But… since my shift's over, unless there's something urgent, I'll be heading off now."

Hearing the polite opening, Magellan had been about to respond with formal pleasantries—until Luo Yu casually announced his departure like it was just another day at the office.

The only silver lining was that all the prisoners had been knocked out cold, so no riots would follow.

That was a blessing in disguise.

Magellan could only force a wry smile.

"Admiral Luo Yu, you jest. We're grateful for your help in subduing the inmates. It was… enlightening, to say the least. I believe they'll remain very quiet for a while."

"As for Bullet, I doubt he'll be flaunting his Conqueror's Haki anytime soon. Leave the rest to us."

"Hahaha! You're absolutely right, Magellan!" Garp chuckled loudly, popping another rice cracker into his mouth with a loud crunch.

"And that Redfield guy—wasn't he always saying the Marines had no real talent anymore? Well, I'd say he just lost more than his pride. I'll be sure to report this to Sengoku when we get back!"

"But," Garp added, his tone turning slightly serious, "with all that noise just now and the sirens going off, I doubt it was just the prison that got alerted. The World Government and Marine Headquarters probably noticed too. You might want to explain this whole thing... before they jump to conclusions."

Magellan stiffened at that. Only now did the full weight of the situation hit him.

Maybe next time, I shouldn't be so quick to take responsibility.
