Chapter 9
Chapter 9
After a little while, Beya slowly crawled out of the swamp of self-loathing.
"Miss Beya."
"Mmm......"
Beya avoided my gaze as she spoke.
"I'd like to show you around the mansion, if that's alright?"
Beya's expression stiffened slightly.
"The mansion? Is that okay?"
"Since I'll be with you, there won't be any problems."
As we walk down the corridors, it's not uncommon to spot my second and third sisters' toys.
For reference, all of their toys were men.
In this world, where women dominate society, a woman embracing another woman is considered truly disgusting.
Just like how, in my previous life, an average man would look at gay men.
"If that's the case...."
Beya nodded with a serious expression.
I grabbed Beya's collar and opened the door.
"Then, let's go."
Beya, her cheeks flushed, gave a small nod.
*
"First, I'll show you the place closest to my room."
The first place I introduced to Beya was the bathroom.
A magic tool that controls the water temperature, shampoo, treatment, conditioner, and body wash made with alchemy and magic.
A mirror that reflected my face sharply and clearly, and a bathtub big enough to fit my whole body.
Beya entered the bathroom, which was made entirely with the civilization of this world.
"It's smaller than I expected?"
"Yes. Since it's a place I use alone. Right now, you're the only one besides me who's come in here."
".....I see."
"You'll probably be bathing here too, Beya."
"..........."
I heard the sound of Beya swallowing.
Seeing Beya's eyes gradually glaze over, I tapped her arm.
"Miss Beya?"
"Huh? Oh, oh."
Snapping back to her senses, Beya glanced at my stomach, then quickly shut her eyes tight in surprise.
I let out a low chuckle and spoke.
"Let's leave now. There's still a lot to show you."
Next, I took Beya to Luia's room.
Out of respect for her privacy, I didn't enter, just showed the door.
"This is my eldest sister Luia's room."
"This place......"
Beya's eyes scanned every corner of the door.
Watching that, I asked something I'd been curious about.
"Earlier, I saw Luia standing in front of your room-did she do anything to you?"
"Not really. If she had tried, I wouldn't be standing here just fine, would I?"
Well, that's true.
From what I've seen, Luia isn't the underhanded or sinister type.
Among our family, her personality is actually pretty straightforward.
Usually, she's frivolous, but when she gets angry, she becomes endlessly aggressive-that's the problem.
She's aggressive toward the weak and combative toward the strong,
The so-called strong-strong-weak-strong type, I suppose.
Thankfully, I've only seen her genuinely angry once so far.
And that was because of an incident involving the second sister, so it was really rare to see her truly furious.
Of course, since I've never seen Luia outside this mansion, I can't say I know her personality for certain.
"Next, I'll show you the study."
I led Beya into the study.
"Is it okay for me to come in here? Shouldn't a place like this be tightly guarded?"
"It doesn't really matter. There's nothing that important here."
Though it's called a study, unlike the ones rich people in sunny lands have, there were hardly any old or high-quality books.
The only books worth mentioning were ones gifted or bought from Black Robe,
Or books about how to train slaves and the like.
And a lot of novels that were too low-level or boring to keep in my own room's bookshelf were all stored here.
The rest were just useless books filling up space, destined to become firewood if a fire ever broke out in the mansion.
There were also several secret passages and hidden rooms I'd built in secret, but I'd reveal those to Beya little by little later.
"If you get interested, you can visit here anytime, Beya."
Beya, who had been sneaking glances at the books from Black Robe, turned her head toward me.
"Really?"
"As long as you don't get caught by anyone."
"Got it."
Beya nodded confidently.
*
"Now, that's the end of the third floor tour......"
"Wait, but there are still a lot of rooms we haven't seen."
Beya's gaze turned toward the rooms we had passed by.
"Those are empty rooms."
"Empty?"
"No one else lives there. Neither Luia nor I have any 'toys'. So until now, the third floor was just for the two of us."
"I see, understood."
"Now that you'll be living here, there will be three of us on this spacious third floor. Usually, it's just the two of us."
Beya's cheeks flushed red again.
At her perfectly honest and transparent reaction, I smiled softly and continued.
"Then, let's go down now."
When we reached the stairs, I naturally took the lead down to the second floor.
"Louis."
I turned my body at Beya's voice.
'Shit, that startled me.'
"Louis?"
"Ah, yes. What is it?"
Seeing Beya sticking close behind me, for a moment I thought she was going to push me down the stairs.
So I got a bit scared for a second.
Even though the collar had an enslavement spell preventing her from harming her master-and I was that master-it was still nerve-wracking.
"Aren't we going up to the fourth floor?"
Beya's finger pointed at the stairs leading to the fourth floor.
"The fourth floor......"
I trailed off.
"Is there some problem?"
Beya's expression grew more serious.
"There is a problem. The fourth floor is where my second sister lives."
"Your second sister, huh."
"Honestly, it's best to avoid her if at all possible."
Beya's expression went blank.
"Just what kind of person is this second sister of yours?"
"Just, just don't run into her. Besides, there's nothing to see on the fourth floor, so I can't even give you a tour."
Before Beya could say anything else, I quickly went down the stairs.
The place I brought Beya to after descending to the first floor was the dining hall.
"This is the dining hall."
Beya looked around the dining hall and spoke with an indifferent expression.
"It's spacious."
"Yes, but only our family uses it."
"Really? Then it's unnecessarily big."
At Beya's blunt yet openly hostile tone, I gave a wry smile.
Honestly, considering only six people used it, the dining hall was indeed unnecessarily spacious.
"Right? But what's more interesting is that the only time everyone gathers here is for breakfast. The rest of the meals, everyone handles on their own."
"Where do you eat then?"
"I usually eat in my room or sometimes in the library. Eating alone in this huge dining hall feels lonely. But now that you're here, Beya, I won't be lonely anymore."
Sometimes I would eat at a restaurant in the capital with my face covered, but I didn't mention that.
"Well then, let's move on."
The next place I took Beya was the reception room.
The reception room was mainly prepared for guests visiting the mansion,
but since, due to the nature of our organization, all important guests were met underground, this room was almost never used.
"Surprisingly, you have everything you need."
At Beya's remark, I gave another wry smile.
"Though we hardly ever use it."
Beya's hand brushed over the chair.
Seeing her hand come away covered in gray dust, Beya spoke.
"Do you not clean this place?"
"Uh... As far as I know, this room has never been used."
"Then what do you do when guests come?"
"Well, no guests have ever come here in the first place."
It wasn't a normal mansion, and there weren't any normal people here, so what kind of normal guests would ever visit?
"What...? Then what about visits from other organizations? Like, say, the Black Robe?"
"In those cases, I believe the meetings happen underground."
"Underground, huh. Got it."
Looking at Beya's serious expression, I spoke up.
"If you're thinking of going underground, I wouldn't really recommend it."
"Why not?"
"Because my mother usually stays down there."
"Of all people, that woman......"
Mother. Hearing that Svela Cartio, the boss of the organization, mainly frequented the underground, Beya's face filled with concern.
Ah, Beya was kidnapped by my mother, wasn't she.
I bowed my head to Beya.
"I'm sorry. If it weren't for my mother, you wouldn't have had any reason to come here......"
"Huh? No, it's fine."
Beya waved her hands in surprise.
"Svela originally tried to kill me. But she said she kept me alive because you, Louis, showed some interest."
What. So that's how it was?
But now this raises a question.
"Why did my mother try to kill you in the first place, Beya?"
"Well, I was personally tracking an organization called the Black Robe. I think that's probably why."
"I see...."
So Beya was chasing the Black organization. If that was the case, then my mother's actions made sense.
Even with two sealing cuffs on, Beya's aura was still formidable.
If Beya had been in her full state and had continued pursuing the Black Robe, the organization most closely connected to ours,
then my mother would have had more than enough reason to feel threatened.
Knowing her, she would have tried to kill Beya even if it meant taking some risks.
That was the kind of person my mother was.
