Playing As Gojo Satoru in Naruto

Chapter 106: Chapter 106

"That's right,"

Haku replied while adjusting the mask on his face.

He was Zabuza's direct apprentice. Even though he still had the rank of genin, Zabuza usually took him along on missions.

Whether it was Zabuza's training or Haku's own hidden techniques, he could take on several jonin without much trouble.

The only reason Naruto and Sasuke could stand a chance against him was because of who they were—a Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, and a survivor of the Uchiha clan.

"What a poser,"

Sasuke muttered under his breath, eyes locked onto Haku.

He clearly didn't look that old, but with the mask on and that superior attitude, it was hard not to get annoyed.

Sakura stayed protectively in front of Tazuna. Even though Zabuza and Haku hadn't said anything directly, it was pretty clear that they were here for Tazuna.

Her eyes shifted toward Sasuke, who stood in front of them with his back to her.

"Sasuke-kun is so cool…"

Kakashi looked speechless, his usual tired expression on full display as he glanced between Sasuke and Sakura.

For some reason, after Sasuke called Haku a poser, Kakashi couldn't help but wonder—was he also talking about himself?

Or maybe seeing someone else with the same "cool act" just rubbed him the wrong way?

Even Naruto, as slow as he could be sometimes, could tell that the two in front of them were being condescending. He shouted angrily right away:

"What's your problem!? You looking down on us!?"

"How could that be? We're already giving you two way more credit than you deserve."

Zabuza let out a few low chuckles from deep in his throat.

These people should feel lucky—getting both him and Haku to take them on was already more than they deserved.

Right then, Haku, who was standing beside him, darted forward. From within the thick mist, a few senbon needles suddenly shot out of the vague, shifting shadows.

Naruto barely dodged the senbon, but the next moment, Haku was already right next to Sasuke.

Zabuza narrowed his eyes slightly as he watched from the side. From how the three of them were positioned, it looked like Kakashi had no intention of moving forward.

So they weren't just focused on fighting him and Haku—they were putting more effort into protecting that old man nearby?

*Clink—Clank!*

Two sharp sounds rang out as Sasuke's kunai clashed with the senbon in Haku's hand.

The thin needles were surprisingly hard. If a normal person were holding them, there's no way they could block a kunai.

"I'm still here too!!"

Afraid he'd be left out, Naruto shouted, then charged at Haku with his kunai pointed straight at him.

Sasuke thought Naruto's habit of yelling before every move was kind of dumb, but clearly, right now, they had the upper hand.

Two people fighting one will always have an advantage.

Sasuke allowed himself a slight smile as he looked at the masked face in front of him.

"We've got two people, you know."

A cold, emotionless voice came from behind the mask. At the same time, Haku's free hand quickly started forming hand signs.

"Even if there are two of you, you still don't stand a chance."

"I already have the upper hand."

Back where he was guarding Tazuna, Kakashi looked at Haku's hand with mild surprise.

Every jutsu he'd seen before required both hands to form seals. At the very least, even when people used their opponent's hand, it was still two hands.

This guy could form seals with one hand?

Upper hand!?

Sasuke's eyes instantly shifted to the area beside them, where Zabuza's water clone had been destroyed, leaving water spread across the ground.

Thick mist, water—this environment was entirely in their favor.

The moment Sasuke realized that, he suddenly turned and yelled at Naruto, who was about to charge in.

"Get out of the way, Naruto!!"

"Secret Art: Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death."

Haku's grip on the senbon didn't loosen at all. With a sudden movement, water splashed up under his feet.

In the next instant, the droplets turned into sharp ice needles, shooting straight at the two of them without mercy.

Right before he would've been pierced like a pincushion, Sasuke channeled all his chakra into his feet.

*Boom!*

The ice needles slammed into the ground, sending up a cloud of smoke and mist.

Naruto managed to stop just in time, took a few steps back, and quickly swatted away the needles that were about to hit him.

"…Only one of them left."

Haku's eyes quickly scanned the spot where Naruto and Sasuke had been, then his pupils shrank slightly—he looked up to see Sasuke in midair.

From above, Sasuke quickly threw a few shuriken, the spinning blades flying straight toward Haku.

*Clink, clink, clink!*

Haku stumbled back a few steps, rolling to avoid the shuriken attack. But Naruto had already used Body Flicker to appear behind him, thrusting his kunai at Haku's neck.

These two… they actually had some teamwork.

Haku spun around and dodged Naruto's strike, only to have Sasuke come in right behind him.

He could keep up with Haku's speed?

Behind his bandages, Zabuza's mouth tightened into a slight frown. The combo of the Nine-Tails jinchūriki and the last Uchiha wasn't something to take lightly.

Surrounded and attacked from both sides, Haku started to fall behind. Just then, Sasuke threw a kunai that grazed the mask on Haku's face.

As Haku dodged by leaping away, Naruto suddenly kicked him right in the mask.

The kick sent Haku flying through the air.

"Hah! So all you can do is talk big? That wasn't anything special!"

Naruto stood proudly in place, clearly enjoying himself as he started mocking Haku.

Even though it was Sasuke who mainly figured out Haku's speed, Naruto was the one who landed the final kick—so of course he felt proud.

Sasuke gave him a speechless glance but didn't bother to argue.

"We're both team leaders now. It'd be embarrassing to get looked down on by kids."

Kakashi let out a quiet sigh of relief and spoke softly from behind them.

Thankfully, the two boys had done okay. Maybe that last-minute extra training he gave them wasn't a complete waste after all.

"Haku, if this keeps up, those two kids might actually turn the tables on you."

"You should start taking them more seriously. After all... they're both Jinchuriki and have Kekkei Genkai."

Zabuza was a little surprised that Sasuke and Naruto could keep up with Haku's speed.

But Haku's hidden Kekkei Genkai wasn't something that could be seen through so easily.

"Mm."

Haku stood up slowly, head slightly lowered. His wooden sandals clicked softly against the bridge.

Then, a visible, cold blue mist began to spread around him.

"What the—?!"

Naruto and Sasuke both instinctively took a step back, suddenly feeling a freezing chill coming off of Haku.

Then, Haku made a hand sign neither of them had ever seen before.

Water on the ground suddenly rose and gathered around them, forming mirrors like they had minds of their own!

"Secret Technique: Demonic Ice Mirrors."
