Pokémon: Breeding Simulator

Chapter 211: Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [211] [100 PS]

A wild Zoroark standing nearby swallowed nervously and ventured a question:

"A human Trainer… having a lot of Pokémon, that's normal, right?"

As it spoke, it even winked at Elias, as if trying to send him a signal.

And then… she—

What it saw next was a cold, gleaming claw, rapidly growing larger before its eyes.

"Yelp!"

With a pained, shrill cry, the wild Zoroark clutched its mouth and slunk back to the others of its kind.

Clearly, its hopes of being captured had been dashed.

Clenching its claws, it couldn't help but feel a surge of envy.

Why wasn't it the one driven from its pack and picked up by a human all those years ago?!

Beside Elias—

His own Zoroark let out a cold snort and retracted her outstretched claw.

Given all the things these fellow Zoroark had done in the past, it was merciful enough that she hadn't tossed them straight into a volcano.

And now they were daydreaming about becoming Elias's Pokémon?

Not even in your wildest dreams!

Thinking this, she rubbed her ear contentedly against Elias's arm, her face the picture of satisfaction.

Seeing this, Elias couldn't help but feel a little helpless.

With Zoroark around, he figured it would be nearly impossible to capture any new Pokémon from now on.

Still…

Having Zoroark and Lucario on his team was more than enough to handle most situations.

Well—provided Lucario didn't get driven off by Zoroark one of these days.

After temporarily settling the wild Zoroark, Cyllene came looking for him.

"Did it work?" Elias asked, noticing the barely perceptible hint of joy beneath Cyllene's typically stern expression.

Sure enough, she nodded.

"Yes. I'm now the new Commander of the Galaxy Team."

Elias nodded knowingly, not at all surprised.

Even though Kamado had held considerable sway within the Galaxy Team, his reputation had plummeted after being decisively defeated by Elias.

At the same time, Cyllene's own standing in the team had always been excellent.

Now, with Kamado gravely injured and Cyllene having resolved the major threat of the wild Zoroark, her appointment as Commander was a done deal.

"Oh, right. Here are the schematics for the special Poké Balls."

As if remembering something, Cyllene pulled a small stack of papers from her sleeve and handed them to Elias.

He flipped through them briefly, a look of satisfaction appearing on his face.

Feather Balls for high-speed flight, Heavy Balls for increased capture rates, and Superior Balls with even better performance.

With these at their disposal, the two major clans would find it much easier to capture Pokémon.

"These will be very useful. Give my thanks to Professor Laventon," Elias said as he put away the schematics.

At that, Cyllene waved her hands dismissively.

In her view, what she'd given Elias couldn't possibly compare to all she'd received from him.

While Elias and Cyllene spoke, Zoroark craned her head to peer at the schematics in his hands.

Her gaze flitted over each unique Poké Ball, eyes shining with keen interest.

Clearly, Poké Balls had huge potential for modification.

So Elias's hunch was right—if the [Origin Ore] could be made into a Poké Ball, it should be able to capture any Pokémon.

Including… that not-so-bright Giratina.

And after today's battles, she could feel her own power had grown as well.

Everything was moving in a good direction.

Following the plan, she believed it wouldn't be long before she could finally achieve her dream.

Just thinking about how no one would dare speak ill of her and Elias ever again made Zoroark's breathing quicken in anticipation.

And surely, when that time came, Elias would pat her on the head and praise her for being so capable?

Lost in these daydreams, Zoroark didn't notice the ticklish sensation at Elias's neck.

Glancing down, he saw his own Pokémon intently studying the papers in his hands.

He didn't stop her.

After all, the main reason he'd agreed to work with Cyllene in the first place was to fulfill Zoroark's wish.

With that in mind, Elias used Aura to raise thick barriers all around, cutting them off from outside view.

Then, he carefully drew out the piece of [Origin Ore] he'd prepared.

The moment the scarlet stone was exposed to the air, the atmosphere around them seemed to tighten.

It was a small piece Elias had managed to knock loose from the main [Origin Ore].

After careful consideration, both he and Cynthia agreed that Cyllene was someone they could trust.

Her descendants might be a handful, sure…

But that didn't stop Elias from taking a chance.

He trusted his instincts—entrusting the [Origin Ore] to Cyllene now would definitely yield the results he wanted.

Meeting Cyllene's slightly widened eyes, Elias handed her the stone.

"Commander Cyllene, I'd like you to give this to Professor Laventon."

"I hope… he can use this stone to craft a brand-new kind of Poké Ball."

As he spoke, Elias closely watched Cyllene's reaction.

She carefully took the [Origin Ore], a flicker of confusion passing through her eyes.

But in the end…

She simply nodded solemnly, not prying further.

"I'll deliver your message."

She promised as she put the ore away.

Her instincts told her it was best not to ask about the stone's origins.

Even just holding it made her feel oddly short of breath.

If it were just an ordinary ore, there's no way it would have such an unsettling effect.

...

After Cyllene left with the stone, Elias glanced at Zoroark's face—she was beaming.

"Happy now?" he asked.

"Mhm!" Zoroark nodded emphatically.

It wasn't just the chance to research the [Origin Ore] early that pleased her—Elias's attitude toward her was just as gratifying.

"But you have to be careful with the [Origin Ore]," Elias reminded her. "And if you need to hand it over to Cyllene, you have to be as cautious as I was today. Got it?"

He pointed at the [Aura]-constructed walls around them.

"I know!" Zoroark replied obediently. "I won't go looking for Cyllene on my own."

Seeing her promise, Elias finally relaxed.

He wasn't sure why, but every time he took out the [Origin Ore], an inexplicable discomfort crept over him.

Maybe… it's just the nature of the stone itself?

Whatever the reason, there was no harm in making sure Zoroark stayed careful.

Given the legends, the [Origin Ore] was bound to be important.

If its existence got out and attracted any dangerous Pokémon, things would get complicated fast.
