Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 75: Johto League Part 15

Swampert came out it's Pokeball, as he looked back at his Trainer.

Haru looked at Swampert as he spoke. "Swampert use Stealth Rock, Follow it up by a Waterfall and Earthquake and after that use a stone edge"

Swampert roared in acknowledgment, slamming its massive arms into the ground as sharp, glowing rocks erupted around the battlefield, creating a Stealth Rock trap that would damage any of Ash's Pokémon entering the field.

"Heracross, stay sharp! Dodge and counter when you can!" Ash called out.

Swampert immediately surged forward with incredible speed, cloaked in a rushing torrent of water as it executed Waterfall, colliding with Heracross head-on. Heracross skidded backward but managed to stay upright, showing its resilience.

Haru smirked. "Now, Earthquake!"

Swampert leaped into the air and came crashing down, sending powerful tremors across the battlefield. The ground shook violently, making it difficult for Heracross to maintain its footing. The Bug/Fighting-type cried out as the attack hit hard, leaving it visibly weakened.

Ash gritted his teeth. "Heracross, hang in there! Use Megahorn!"

Heracross steadied itself and charged forward, its massive horn glowing brightly as it aimed straight for Swampert. The attack connected, pushing Swampert back and dealing significant damage, but the Water/Ground-type wasn't going down that easily.

Haru called out his next move. "Swampert, Stone Edge!"

Large, jagged rocks shot up from the ground, hurtling toward Heracross. Ash quickly countered. "Heracross, use Aerial Ace to dodge and strike!"

Heracross weaved through the incoming stones with incredible agility, closing the distance to land another clean hit on Swampert. However, the effort left Heracross visibly fatigued.

Haru saw the opening. "Finish it, Swampert! Use Ice Punch!"

Swampert's fist glowed with icy energy as it lunged forward, landing a direct hit on Heracross. The Bug/Fighting-type froze momentarily before collapsing to the ground, fainted.

The referee raised his flag. "Heracross is unable to battle! Swampert is the winner!"

Ash recalled Heracross, giving it a grateful smile. "You did amazing, buddy. Take a good rest."

Ash then grabbed his next Pokéball. "Alright, Haru, let's turn this around! Charizard, it's your time to shine!"

Charizard roared as it emerged onto the battlefield, its wings spreading wide. The crowd erupted in cheers, excited to see Ash's powerhouse face off against Haru's resilient Swampert. The battlefield was set for an epic clash.

Then the stealth rock Actived and the super effective move hit Charizard making unable to fly for a bit.

Haru smriked looking at Ash. "This is my I told Swampert to use stealth rock".

Swampert body then glowed with a bit of orange, the Moxie had Actived after he drafted Heracross.

Ash clenched his fist as Charizard growled, trying to shake off the damage inflicted by Stealth Rock. "Charizard, we've faced tougher odds before. Let's show them what we're made of!" he encouraged, as Charizard roared in defiance.

Haru's smirk widened. "It's not just Stealth Rock you have to worry about, Ash. Swampert's Moxie boosts its attack every time it takes down one of your Pokémon. This is just the beginning."

Swampert stood confidently, its orange aura flaring slightly from the Moxie boost, ready to capitalize on its momentum.

Ash gritted his teeth but quickly composed himself. "Fine then, we'll break through this together. Charizard, use Flamethrower!"

Charizard unleashed a torrent of flames that streaked across the battlefield toward Swampert. Haru reacted instantly. "Swampert, block it with Waterfall!"

Swampert surged forward, surrounded by cascading water, extinguishing the flames as it advanced. The two attacks collided, creating a massive steam cloud that obscured the battlefield.

Ash took advantage of the momentary cover. "Charizard, use Dragon Dance!"

Inside the steam cloud, Charizard's movements became sharper and more fluid as its attack and speed stats increased.

Haru narrowed his eyes. "I won't let you build momentum. Swampert, use Earthquake to clear the field!"

Swampert slammed the ground with immense force, sending shockwaves rippling through the arena. The steam cloud dissipated, revealing Charizard mid-flight, struggling to stabilize itself due to the residual effects of Stealth Rock.

Ash knew he had to act quickly. "Charizard, dodge and use Air Slash!"

Charizard swerved to avoid the shockwaves and fired sharp, spinning blades of air at Swampert. Haru smirked again. "Stone Edge, Swampert!"

The two attacks collided mid-air, sending debris flying everywhere. Despite the clash, Swampert's Moxie boost gave it the edge, and one of the Stone Edge shards managed to hit Charizard, forcing it back to the ground.

Ash clenched his fists. "Charizard, you're not done yet! Use Blast Burn!"

Charizard's body glowed intensely as it summoned a massive eruption of fiery energy, the powerful attack racing toward Swampert.

Haru's eyes widened slightly. "Swampert, counter with Hydro Cannon!"

The two powerhouse moves collided in a spectacular explosion, shaking the entire stadium and kicking up dust and debris. Both Pokémon emerged from the clash, visibly exhausted but still standing.

Haru called out confidently, "Swampert, finish this with Ice Punch!"

Ash shouted back, "Charizard, counter with Dragon Claw!"

The two Pokémon charged at each other, their fists and claws glowing with energy. The collision sent another shockwave through the arena, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats.

When the dust settled, one Pokémon stood victorious. Charizard, though heavily battered, roared in triumph as Swampert collapsed to the ground, fainted.

The referee raised his flag. "Swampert is unable to battle! Charizard is the winner!"

Haru recalled Swampert, smiling despite the loss. "You've got guts, Ash. But this battle isn't over yet."

Haru grabbed his final Pokéball. "Let's see if your Charizard can handle my ace. Go, Garchomp!" The three-headed Ground/Dragon-type emerged with a menacing roar, its presence alone sending chills through the stadium.

Ash tightened his grip on Charizard's Pokéball. "Let's do this, Charizard. One last push!"

Haru looked at his Garchomp. "So we are both left with one Pokémon each"

Haru then told Garchomp to uss Sword dance, as then Charizard moved to attack it as then Garchomp used a Dragon claw, as it Charizard sending it flying, as then Haru told Garchomp used used an Earthquake as it hit the Charizard and sent it back as then Garchomp used another sword dances as it came behind Charizard and used Substitute as it hit the Charizard and to sent Charizard to the wall, and it was Clear Charizard was in one leg.

Ash just spoke looking at Haru. "You know, people don't lie when they said Garchomp are a force of nature"

Haru then wonder a bit to him self. "I think Garchomp nickname is the Destruction Pokémon?".

Haru stood tall, his expression determined as Garchomp continued to dominate the battlefield. The massive dragon-like Pokémon hovered just above the ground, its fierce eyes locked onto Charizard, which was struggling to stand after the relentless onslaught of attacks. The audience murmured, sensing that Haru's victory was drawing closer.

Ash, though clearly worn from the battle, still had fire in his eyes. He glanced at Charizard, who was barely holding on, before looking back at Haru. "I can't deny it... your Garchomp is incredible, but Charizard's still got some fight left in him!"

Haru smirked, a knowing glint in his eyes. "Charizard's tough, but Garchomp is built for destruction. I've trained with him for a long time, and he's not holding back."

The referee hesitated, giving Charizard one last chance before calling the battle. Ash clenched his fists but then looked at Charizard with a nod. "Alright, Charizard, one last shot!"

Charizard stood up shakily, its breathing labored but its spirit unbroken. "Charizard, use Blast Burn!" Ash yelled, trying to muster the strength to push Charizard forward.

But Haru acted immediately, "Garchomp, use Dragon Rush!"

Garchomp, now faster thanks to the Sword Dance boosts, rocketed toward Charizard with immense force, slamming into Charizard before it could unleash the fiery attack. The impact left Charizard unable to respond as Garchomp followed up with another Earthquake that cracked the battlefield beneath them.

Ash's face grew serious. "Charizard, hang in there... you've fought hard, but you don't have to keep going."

Charizard, despite the pain, let out a growl and rose once again. It was clear that Charizard wasn't going down without a final effort.

But Haru's eyes narrowed, knowing the moment was coming. "Garchomp, let's finish this. Use Outrage!"

Garchomp's entire body surged with energy as it charged forward, its jaws glowing with the intense power of its Outrage. Charizard barely managed to get one last wing flap in, trying to avoid the attack, but it was too late. The dragon-like Garchomp struck with deadly precision.

A powerful clash occurred, and the dust and debris clouded the air. When it settled, Charizard was sprawled out on the ground, unable to rise. The referee immediately raised his flag. "Charizard is unable to battle! The winner is Haru, with his Garchomp!"

The crowd erupted into applause, while Ash sighed and recalled Charizard, his shoulders slumped slightly. "I gave it my all, but... Garchomp's strength is on another level."

Haru stood, his Garchomp at his side, victorious yet respectful. "That was an incredible battle, Ash. You pushed me to my limits, but I had to rely on my strongest team members to win."

Ash smiled, though clearly exhausted. "You've earned this one, Haru. Your Garchomp is an unstoppable force."

The two trainers exchanged a respectful nod, understanding that they'd just gone through an unforgettable battle. Haru's Harmonia family cheered from the stands, proud of his victory, while Ash's friends rallied around him, praising his effort.

"Great battle, Ash!" Misty called out from the stands. "You didn't give up, and that's what matters."

Brock added, "You've earned their respect, Ash. Sometimes, it's just about knowing when the other trainer has the edge."

With that, the battle ended, and both trainers knew they had learned and grown from this incredible experience. Haru had claimed victory, but Ash had given it his all, proving once again that the journey was just as important as the destination.

The crowd erupted into a thunderous cheer as the referee's words echoed throughout the stadium. The air was electric with excitement. "The winner of this battle is Ethan Haru Bit Harmonia, and the one who has won the Johto League and will now be facing the Johto Elite Four and the champion is none other than Haru!"

Haru stood there, his Garchomp at his side, as the applause washed over him. The realization of his victory began to sink in. He had done it. Not just for himself, but for everyone who had supported him. He glanced around at the audience—his family, his friends, and all the other trainers watching in awe.

Ash, though disappointed by the outcome, offered a smile and a thumbs-up to Haru. "You did it, Haru. You've earned this."

Haru gave a nod, acknowledging Ash's sportsmanship. "Thanks, Ash. That was a battle I won't forget."

The Harmonia family, sitting in the VIP section, exchanged proud glances. Akagi, Asagi, Midory, Kitsu, Violet, and even little Tade-Ai all showed their approval in their unique ways. Their brother had achieved what they all knew was in his destiny—he was the champion.

Violet, looking at the victory with a proud smile, spoke to her family. "He really is something else, isn't he?"

Kitsu grinned, her usual mischievous demeanor softened with admiration. "Told you he'd make it this far. He's been waiting for the perfect moment."

Akagi, ever the serious one, simply nodded. "He's proven himself worthy of the title."

Meanwhile, on the stands, Whitney turned to Misty and Brock. "He's really done it. The Harmonia family isn't just rich; they're also a force in the Pokémon world."

Misty raised an eyebrow. "So, what now? He faces the Elite Four, huh?"

Brock smiled. "It's going to be an incredible challenge for him. But if he's made it this far, there's no telling how far he'll go."

With the announcement ringing in their ears, Haru was escorted to the center of the arena, where a podium awaited him. He stepped forward, holding his Pokéballs in his hands, a symbol of the bond he shared with his Pokémon.

The referee approached him, holding a shiny trophy high. "Haru, as the winner of the Johto League, you have earned this prestigious trophy. Congratulations on your victory and your upcoming challenge against the Elite Four."

Haru took the trophy with a gracious smile. "Thank you. This victory isn't just mine—it's a result of the hard work of my Pokémon and my trainers. I'll keep moving forward, no matter what comes next."

As the crowd continued to cheer, Haru's thoughts shifted to the future. The Elite Four and the Champion of Johto were waiting, but he knew that with his team and his determination, he was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

His family, friends, and supporters cheered from the stands, but it was clear—Haru's journey was far from over. The next chapter was waiting, and the path to the top was only just beginning.

The group went to the way to get rest, as Haru looked at Ash. "You did good ash".

Ash looked at Haru as he spoke. "Yeah, it was nice match and I think I could have but still, You always Win Able".

Haru stopped and looked at Ash as he spoke. "Did you just call me Able".

Ash stopped wondering why he came Haru that. "Yeah, but why did I call you that".

Haru didn't know how to feel about it, as he saw Ash walk away, when he heard the name Able he remembers his past life as the Prince in Unova, as the brother of Ideal as his last life name Able as he watched Ash walk away.

Haru sat quietly against the wall, the sounds of the bustling crowd and the aftermath of the battle fading into the background as his mind raced. The mention of "Able" from Ash had struck a chord deep within him—more than he expected. For a moment, everything felt like it was unraveling in a blur, memories of a past life as the Prince of Unova resurfacing.

"Same words... same words as my brother Cain," Haru muttered to himself, the weight of the realization pressing down on him. His past life had been filled with so much turmoil, and now, to see Ash—his rival, his friend—calling him by the name that belonged to someone else entirely, it felt like fate was playing a strange game.

As Haru looked at Ash walking away, a thought occurred to him. Could it be that Ash is the reincarnation of Cain? It seemed too coincidental, but there were undeniable similarities. The stubbornness, the impulsiveness, the innate connection to Pokémon that seemed to resonate with the ancient bond they once shared.

Haru shook his head, trying to push the thought away. No, it can't be. He doesn't remember. He's not aware of it. But deep down, a part of him wondered if Ash's journey, his struggles, and the path he walked could somehow be tied to that long-forgotten past.

His fingers brushed against the emblem on his shirt, the one that symbolized his royal heritage. It felt strange to carry a past life with him so silently, but the more Haru thought about it, the more it seemed like the past and present were slowly converging in ways he couldn't ignore.

"Cain... my brother," Haru whispered, the words tasting bitter. What happened to you? And why do I have to keep running from it?

He glanced back at Ash, still far off in the distance, unaware of the true weight of what Haru had just uncovered. For a brief moment, Haru saw himself as he had been in that past life—a prince torn between two fates. One of duty, one of love. But as he focused on Ash, he realized something else.

I'm not my past. And neither is Ash. But the idea of this new revelation weighed heavily on him, like a puzzle he hadn't yet solved.

A deep breath escaped his lips as he slowly stood up from the wall. His journey was far from over. He had his own battles to face now, not just the ones in the present, but also those in his heart. I'll have to keep moving forward. For myself, for Ash, for everyone.

With a final glance at the horizon, Haru made up his mind. Whatever connection Ash had to Cain, it would not stop him from continuing to move forward. After all, the future was still unwritten, and only time would reveal whether Ash's past would catch up to him.

He took a deep breath, squaring his shoulders. "Let's see where this path leads."
