Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: The Counterattack Begins

The intense chase continued in the sky. Thanks to Swellow's Tailwind ability, it remained faster than both Salamence and Noivern. However, Salamence and Noivern repeatedly attacked it, forcing Swellow to dodge constantly, which prevented it from flying smoothly and increasing the distance.

Inevitably, Swellow was hit multiple times during the relentless pursuit. Although it managed to endure the attacks due to its strong physical condition, its energy was visibly depleting.

Fortunately, Swellow was now close to Rex's Farm. If it could return to its flock, it would be able to teach its pursuers a lesson.

Despite Swellow's usually calm and broad-minded nature, it had never been at such a disadvantage for a long time. Now, it wanted to deal with the persistent attackers properly.

Meanwhile, Beach, who was trailing behind Swellow, was no longer in a hurry. As Swellow's condition worsened, Beach knew it wouldn't last much longer.

He didn't urge Salamence and Noivern to attack more aggressively. After all, he only wanted to capture Swellow, not push it to the limit.

However, Beach failed to notice that they were approaching a farm, and this farm housed many powerful Pokémon.

Finally, when Swellow, battered and barely able to maintain flight, reached its flock, a loud cry echoed through the sky.

"Swahhh!"

In response to Swellow's call, a swarm of Swellow and Taillow rose from the orchard below, gathering to protect their leader.

Over time, the Swellow flock had grown significantly, with over ten Swellow and countless Taillow.

Seeing the sudden appearance of so many Pokémon, Beach, who had been leisurely pursuing Swellow, turned pale. Although he had great confidence in Salamence and Noivern, facing an entire flock of Pokémon made him uneasy.

He also realized that this wasn't just any wild Pokémon flock — it was on a farm, which meant the large Swellow he had been chasing belonged to a trainer.

Attacking another trainer's Pokémon without cause was a criminal offense in any region.

Of course, Beach could argue that he didn't know Swellow belonged to someone when they encountered it in the wild. However, if the trainer pursued the matter, it could still be troublesome.

But that wasn't his biggest problem right now. He was surrounded by a large group of Swellow and Taillow, and he needed to figure out how to escape.

"Um, Swellow, I didn't know you had already been captured, and I apologize for chasing you. If possible, I'd like to apologize to your trainer in person."

Beach addressed Swellow, who was now being protected by its flock.

At this point, Beach couldn't worry about saving face. He quickly expressed his apology, hoping Swellow would forgive him or at least let him speak to its trainer.

He knew that Swellow was still furious, and continuing to provoke it would not end well for him.

Swellow, however, merely scoffed at Beach's words. It was still in pain and had no intention of letting him off so easily.

"Swahhh!"

With another cry from Swellow, the flock of Swellow and Taillow arranged themselves in neat rows, like soldiers awaiting inspection.

The sight of the well-organized formation made Beach's scalp tingle. He realized he was in deep trouble. A disciplined Pokémon army was entirely different from a scattered wild group. Even an Elite Four trainer would struggle to escape, especially from an airborne force like this.

Before Beach could think any further, the Swellow and Taillow launched their attack. Countless Air Slash blades flew toward him.

Beach had no choice but to command Salamence and Noivern to defend. However, the sheer number of Air Slash attacks covered the entire area. Despite Salamence and Noivern's speed, they were left with numerous cuts and bruises.

Though the wounds were small, they added up, causing Salamence and Noivern considerable pain. As proud Dragon-types, they couldn't tolerate being injured by what they considered weaker Pokémon.

In retaliation, Salamence and Noivern struck back, causing many Taillow to faint and fall from the sky.

But no matter how many they knocked down, the Swellow and Taillow kept attacking fearlessly. Eventually, even Salamence and Noivern began to falter. Salamence, in particular, bore the brunt of the attacks as it tried to shield Beach from harm.

Finally, just before losing consciousness, Salamence descended to the ground. Swellow didn't stop it, as its goal was only to teach a lesson, not to push things too far.

Soon, the battered Salamence and Noivern landed, positioning themselves in front of Beach to protect him. They knew it wouldn't be much use, but they were prepared to shield him from further harm.

"Swahhh!"

With a final cry from Swellow, the flock ceased their attack but continued to surround Beach and his Pokémon.

Both sides were now in a tense standoff. Beach secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Though he had other Pokémon, the sheer difference in numbers was too great. He didn't dare escalate the conflict.

"What's going on here, Swellow?"

Rex, sensing the commotion between Swellow's flock and Beach, had quickly ordered his Taillow scouts to gather his main Pokémon from the farm and rushed over.

When Rex arrived, he saw that the battle had already ended. The trainer with the two Dragon-types was completely at the mercy of Swellow's flock.

Unsure of what had transpired, Rex announced his presence.

"You must be Swellow's trainer. I sincerely apologize for the trouble. This whole incident was caused by my reckless behavior!"

Seeing Rex, Beach felt a wave of relief. He immediately recounted everything that had happened, without leaving out any details, knowing full well that he was at fault.

"Swellow, is that how it went?"

After hearing Beach's story, Rex turned to his exhausted Swellow.

It was only then that Rex noticed how badly injured Swellow was, its energy nearly depleted. The fact that it hadn't collapsed yet was a testament to its incredible willpower.

Seeing Swellow in such a state, Rex's expression darkened.

His bond with Swellow was deep, and the thought of it being beaten so badly infuriated him. If Swellow hadn't returned to the farm in time, who knows what Beach might have done upon realizing it was a trainer's Pokémon? Would he have left or gone as far as killing Swellow?

The mere possibility of losing Swellow sent a chill down Rex's spine.

"Are you going to surrender, or do you still want to fight?"

Rex's tone was now cold, devoid of the friendliness he had shown earlier, as he addressed Beach.
