Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Queen Milotic

"Since Combee, you're fine now, I'll be heading out!"

Rex decided to leave once he saw the Combee had fully recovered.

"Buzz! Buzz!"

As soon as the healed Combee let out a couple of cries, the other Combee quickly formed two neat rows, and Rex, led by the healed Combee, left the hive.

This sight surprised Rex; he hadn't expected that this Combee was already capable of commanding the others, indicating it had begun to acquire some authority akin to a queen bee.

After taking a careful look at the Combee in front of him, Rex left the hive. He suspected this little one might soon surprise him even more.

Rex had a decent understanding of Combee and Vespiquen. The queen controlled the Combee through pheromones that no human or Pokémon could perceive. For this Combee to command the others so effortlessly, it was clear it had started to emit similar pheromones, suggesting it wasn't far from evolving into a Vespiquen.

Once the Rex farm had a Vespiquen, the number of Combee colonies could expand. With enough Combee, the production of Honey could become a new industry at the Rex farm, instead of the current situation where they struggled to be self-sufficient.

Despite the slight delay caused by the Combee incident, Rex continued toward Jade Moon Lake. He had been busy learning the All Star Fitness Body Training Technique from his senior, Rocky, and hadn't visited Milotic and the others in a while, which made him feel a bit guilty.

When Rex arrived at the lake, Milotic and the others were nowhere to be seen. Given the size of Jade Moon Lake, it was clear they weren't nearby.

But Rex had a solution. He called his loyal Taillow messenger and asked it to find Milotic and the others while he sat down to rest on a large rock.

It didn't take long before Milotic, flanked by Gyarados and Lapras, swiftly swam toward him. It was clear they didn't want their trainer to wait too long.

"Lapras, you seem to have grown quite a bit lately!" Rex remarked in surprise as he petted the head of the approaching Lapras.

Compared to before, when Lapras seemed a bit immature, it had not only grown considerably in size, but its aura was also much more formidable.

Lapras had transformed from an innocent creature into a mighty figure, a significant change.

While Milotic's appearance hadn't changed—still as beautiful as ever—its demeanor was different. It no longer radiated gentleness and approachability; instead, it now exuded the presence of a queen, commanding respect and making it hard for anyone to meet its gaze directly.

As for Gyarados, it had grown even larger and now emanated the fierce aura of a battlefield commander. It followed closely behind Milotic, as if protecting it at all times.

Rex couldn't help but wonder at these transformations. It had only been half a month since he last checked on them, and yet they had all changed so much.

Sensing her trainer's confusion, Milotic softly called out, then gestured toward Lapras with its tail before turning to swim off in a particular direction.

"Why do you all have to make things so difficult for me?" Rex sighed helplessly at Milotic's gesture.

Nevertheless, without hesitation, he jumped onto Lapras' back, knowing that the best way to understand the situation was to follow Milotic's lead.

Milotic swam ahead, while Gyarados and Lapras followed closely behind, one on either side, as if they were Milotic's loyal guards.

This journey was unexpected for Rex. He had thought Milotic was merely leading him to a part of Jade Moon Lake, but Milotic swam out of the lake and followed the river toward a more distant location.

As time passed, Rex realized he had left the boundaries of the Rex farm. The surroundings turned into dense forests, indicating they had entered the heart of Petalburg Woods.

Trusting Milotic and the others, Rex remained calm and enjoyed the scenery along the riverbanks, watching wild Pokémon occasionally come to the river to drink.

Most of the wild Pokémon, however, fled into the forest as soon as they spotted Milotic and its companions, too intimidated to stay.

Time slipped by, and after about half an hour, Milotic finally arrived at their destination, despite the fast pace. As Rex looked ahead, he found himself staring at an endless ocean. He marveled at the fact that Jade Moon Lake was directly connected to the sea, or rather, that the lake was part of a river system that eventually flowed into the ocean.

Lapras was visibly excited to be back at the sea. Before being captured by Rex, Lapras had spent its life swimming freely in the ocean, so returning felt like coming home.

Milotic and Gyarados, before their evolutions, had also lived in the sea, but back then, they were too weak to fully appreciate its beauty.

However, this was not the final destination. After swimming for another ten minutes, they arrived at a bay.

Rex was surprised as he recognized the familiar beach, along with traces of habitation. This was the very beach where he had first arrived in this world and where Milotic and Gyarados used to live.

As they approached, the surface of the sea began to stir, and soon, many water-type Pokémon emerged. Most of them were Magikarp, but there were others like Feebas, Staryu, Goldeen, Marill, and Corphish.

These wild Pokémon ignored Rex completely and instead gazed in awe at Milotic, as if they were greeting their queen.

Feeling somewhat out of place, Rex asked Lapras to bring him to the beach, where he quietly waited to see what would unfold. He suspected there was more to the situation than he knew.

Rex was puzzled as to why so many Pokémon revered Milotic. While Milotic was powerful, it took more than just strength to command such respect. Moreover, he didn't believe Milotic would bother with such a trivial task.

However, the answer soon became clear. From a distance, several sharp fins broke through the water's surface, rapidly approaching. Milotic immediately positioned itself at the front, with Gyarados and Lapras flanking it to protect the other Pokémon.

As expected, a group of Sharpedo emerged from the water, followed by numerous Carvanha. Leading them was a massive Sharpedo, at least twice the size of the others, clearly the leader of the group.

To Rex's surprise, no battle broke out. Instead, the leader of the Sharpedo engaged in a conversation with Milotic.

Given the power difference, Rex knew that Milotic and its companions were at a disadvantage. Apart from Milotic, Gyarados, and Lapras, the other Pokémon were too weak to stand a chance against the vicious Sharpedo clan.
