Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 329: Chapter 330: Cynthia’s Departure

After coming to terms with that key realization, Rex let go of his slight disappointment. After all, if it were so easy to create a Diancie, mythical Pokémon wouldn't be so rare in the first place.

He then shared his thoughts with Carbink and the others—mainly to keep Carbink from giving up.

"That idea of yours is actually quite feasible. If Carbink can learn to create diamonds like Diancie, then honestly, there's very little that separates it from the real thing."

After hearing Rex's follow-up plan for Carbink, Cynthia nodded in agreement.

Though she felt a bit regretful at not seeing an actual evolution, Cynthia was even more impressed that Rex hadn't given up. Her expectations for his future only grew.

Carbink, too, perked up from its earlier gloom. Encouraged by Rex's words, it looked up with determined eyes, as if saying it would work hard to learn diamond creation and never let its trainer down again.

Seeing Carbink back to its usual self, Rex let out a breath of relief. Whether crafting diamonds would truly lead to Diancie's evolution was uncertain, but at least it gave Carbink a clear direction.

If it failed, Rex could always explore other possibilities. One way or another, he was determined—Carbink would become Diancie.

"Rex, I've taken up enough of your time. I think it's time for me to go. Hopefully, we'll meet again someday."

After witnessing the diamond atop Carbink's head become a flawless pink gem, Cynthia chose the moment to say her farewells.

As the Champion of Sinnoh, Cynthia was extremely busy. The few days she had spent at Rex Farm were already pushing her schedule. Now she had to return to her responsibilities.

"You're always welcome to visit, Miss Cynthia. If there was anything lacking in hospitality, please don't mind."

Rex didn't try to stop her, but he saw her off with proper courtesy.

After saying goodbye to Yuli and the others, Cynthia mounted her Garchomp and flew off toward Slateport City.

Rex assumed she was heading there to catch a flight back to Sinnoh—after all, her business in the Hoenn region was now complete.

Yuli and the others felt a bit sad to see her go. They had grown close over the past few days and now saw Cynthia as a friend.

Rex didn't try to comfort them. Cynthia was the kind of person who couldn't stay in one place for long, and that wasn't something she could control.

In short: the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility.

It wasn't just Cynthia. All high-ranking Trainers—like the Elite Four—lived incredibly busy lives, bearing the weight of regional safety and public trust.

Meanwhile, Celebi, Shaymin, and Victini—the three mythical Pokémon who had helped with Rex's project—were also glad to be finished. Constantly using their powers had been draining, but they had kept going so Rex wouldn't look down on them.

Especially Victini, who had already been thinking about leaving the farm. While it enjoyed the food and company here, it still longed to explore the world. Staying in one place forever just wasn't its style.

Of course, once it had its fill of adventure, it would return to Rex Farm—because this was where it had first arrived in this era.

Victini didn't say goodbye to anyone. It left silently, choosing a direction at random and setting off on its journey.

By the time Rex realized Victini was gone, it was already noon the next day. He hadn't seen it the previous night but hadn't thought much of it, knowing mythical Pokémon often acted freely.

"So what about you, Celebi? Any plans next?"

Stroking the Shaymin in his arms, Rex looked toward Celebi and asked.

"Now that Victini is gone, I'll resume my journey through time. But I'll still return here often."

A youthful voice echoed in Rex's mind—it was Celebi, using telepathy.

"Then I wish you safe travels, Celebi. No matter what era you're in, Rex Farm will always welcome you."

Patting Celebi's little leafy head, Rex spoke sincerely.

After saying its goodbyes to Rex and the others, Celebi didn't linger. After finishing lunch, it activated its time-travel ability and vanished into the sky above the back garden.

With Cynthia, Celebi, and Victini gone, Rex Farm returned to its usual calm. Though Yuli and the others would still occasionally bring them up in conversation.

Fortunately, after spending more time around people, Shaymin no longer hid all day in the Gracidea flower field. Now it wandered freely around the farm during the day and only returned to the flowers at night to rest.

Occasionally, it would still curl up and sleep in Rex's arms—his body radiated a life energy that gave Shaymin especially restful sleep.

After Steven left, he reported everything he had seen and heard at Rex Farm to the upper ranks of the Hoenn League. Thanks to his efforts, the League decided that Professor Birch would communicate directly with Rex.

Given the involvement of two mythical Pokémon, the League took no chances. They restricted knowledge of the situation to a small number of individuals, sealed all related documents, and classified them as top secret—accessible only with explicit approval.

Rex trusted Professor Birch, so after Celebi and Victini left, he quickly informed him of the situation and asked him to report it to the League.

Upon learning that Victini had left, Professor Birch was a bit overwhelmed. Neither he nor the League knew what to make of this Pokémon from another time.

If Victini had originally belonged to this era, it wouldn't be much of an issue. But since it had crossed into this timeline from another, it was effectively a ticking time bomb—its very presence could spark unpredictable crises.

Like how Ultra Beasts were handled in Alola—even if they could be caught, the Alolan authorities always prioritized returning them through Ultra Wormholes to minimize their impact on this world.

Victini had one advantage: it was native to this world, just not to this time period.

Still, that only held true so long as it didn't cause any major disturbances.

If it did, even a mythical Pokémon wouldn't be spared. The League's Champions and Elite Four weren't pushovers—if they ever resolved to act, even Victini would struggle to resist.
