Pokémon Legends: Ash vs. Red

Chapter 5: Fire Against Fire

The battlefield was set. Mt. Silver's peak, once a frozen wasteland of untouched snow, was now a ring of fire as two Charizards roared at each other, their flames melting the ice beneath their feet.

Above them, the Rotom Drone hovered silently, its cameras locked on the battle, broadcasting every movement to the world.

Across the globe, Champions, trainers, and even those who had never battled before held their breath.

Ash vs. Red. The Battle of Legends had begun.

The Difference Between Them

Ash Ketchum grinned, excitement radiating from his very being. This was what he lived for.

"Alright, Charizard, let's heat things up! Use Flamethrower!"

His Charizard roared, launching a massive stream of fire straight toward Red's Charizard. The flames carved through the icy air, surging like a tidal wave of heat.

But Red?

He didn't react.

Didn't speak.

Didn't flinch.

He simply raised his hand and pointed forward.

His Charizard understood.

It sidestepped, dodging with practiced ease. Not in a panic, not in a rush—just precise, calculated movement.

Then, without a word, Red made his first move.

He lifted his hand again.

His Charizard charged.

Faster than anyone expected.

It dove through the dying flames, wings beating once before launching itself like a missile toward Ash's Charizard.

Boom!

A direct hit—Steel Wing into the chest.

Ash barely had time to react as his Charizard staggered backward, claws digging into the ground to keep its footing.

"Whoa! That was fast!" Ash muttered, eyes gleaming. "Alright then—Dragon Claw, let's go!"

Charizard rushed forward, green claws glowing as it swung wildly toward Red's Charizard. Aggressive, powerful, but open.

Red's Charizard tilted its head slightly, watching.

And then—

It ducked.

A clean dodge, fluid and effortless. Not a single wasted movement.

Red remained silent as his Charizard countered instantly.

A brutal Thunder Punch landed straight into Ash's Charizard's side, followed by a flap of its wings, knocking it back again.

Ash winced but clenched his fists.

"I see what's going on here…"

Red's battling style—no wasted words, no wasted actions. Every move was efficient, precise, punishing.

But that wasn't Ash's style.

He thrived in chaos.

"Alright, Charizard! Let's take it up a notch—Mega Evolve!"

A flash of brilliant blue light surrounded Ash's Charizard as Mega Evolution activated, transforming it into Mega Charizard Y.

The Rotom Drone beeped.

🔵 Ash's Charizard – Mega Evolution Y Active

Ash smirked. "Time to show 'em what we can do!"

His Charizard took to the skies, its speed doubling, flames trailing behind as it darted through the air like a meteor.

And yet—

Red?

He remained calm.

A simple flick of his wrist.

His Charizard roared, Mega Evolving into Mega Charizard X, its flames turning blue, its body shifting into a fire-breathing dragon of destruction.

🔴 Red's Charizard – Mega Evolution X Active

The world watching exploded with excitement.

🔥 Sinnoh's Battle Tower – "It's a battle of opposites! Charizard X, the physical powerhouse, versus Charizard Y, the aerial attacker!"

🔥 Galar's PWC Headquarters – "Ash is playing to speed, Red is playing to efficiency! This is unreal!"

🔥 Johto's Mt. Silver Base Camp – "They're fighting on a level beyond anything we've seen before!"

Red raised a single hand.

His Charizard vanished.

Ash barely had time to react before it was there—face-to-face with his own Charizard in the blink of an eye.

"What?! It's that fast?!"

Red's Charizard struck.

Dragon Claw—direct to the gut.

Ash's Charizard gasped as the force sent it spiraling backward.

Another movement—before it even landed.

Flare Blitz.

Boom!

The explosion lit up the entire mountain.

Ash shielded his eyes, but when the smoke cleared—

His Charizard was down.

The Rotom Drone beeped.

🔴 Ash's Charizard – Unable to battle.

The world fell into a stunned silence.

After everything—Red had taken the first win.

But Ash?

He grinned.

"Now this is what I'm talking about!"

Red simply recalled his Charizard, replacing it with his next Poké Ball.

Without hesitation. Without emotion.

The message was clear.

Red wasn't here to entertain. He was here to win.

Ash took a deep breath, then grabbed his next Poké Ball.

"Alright, Red. Let's see how you handle this one—Greninja, I choose you!"

As the Poké Ball opened, a dark figure landed on the battlefield, eyes glowing.

The next round had begun.
