Chapter 9: Lunch at the Pokémon Orphanage
Looking at the embarrassed look of the boy, Taylor felt like laughing.
In the Pokémon world, casual battles are not allowed in the city. If you want to fight, you usually have to go to a special battle gym.
This is also to protect the city's infrastructure and the safety of citizens.
Otherwise, if a Pokémon here causes a Dig and a Pokémon there causes a Surf, the annual infrastructure maintenance costs will probably exceed the budget, and the insurance companies will faint in the toilet crying.
Therefore, the League has strictly prohibited Pokémon battles in towns, but there are no such restrictions in the wild.
When Taylor returned to the Pokémon orphanage, he released Bonk and let him rest by himself. Then Taylor hurried to the kitchen and began to prepare today's lunch.
"Let me see, now that Nova and Dusk have been adopted, all I need to prepare is lunch for Kuro, Casey, Bonk, Puffin, and Teddiursa," Taylor stood in the kitchen and tied an apron skillfully.
Cooking for Pokémon is quite particular. Different Pokémon like different flavors and even want to eat different things.
It is relatively simple for Kuro, Bonk, and Casey. Fruit salad combined with Pokémon Food can basically fill them up.
But Puffin can't do that. Puffin likes to eat Pokémon Food like Poké Block, so Taylor usually chooses tree fruits and Pokémon Food.
As for the Teddiursa, that little guy is a little more special.
"It's just that the problem with cooking," Taylor looked at the Pokémon Food in the cabinet, feeling a little confused.
After opening this Pokémon orphanage, Taylor also thought about letting the Pokémon taste Earth's cuisine, but Taylor soon discovered that not every Pokémon liked Earth's cuisine.
And food is also a problem.
As we all know, the world view of Pokémon is gradually improving. In the earliest Pokémon animations, you could still see some ordinary animals, but in the later period, after the world view is perfected, there are no ordinary animals, only Pokémon.
Therefore, Taylor's plan to conquer the world with Earth's cuisine died before his business was started.
"Forget it. We've sent two little guys away today, so let's give everyone some benefits," Taylor took out a basket of vegetables from the pantry.
Taylor plans to make some Ratatouille to improve the little ones' diet.
However, among the raw materials needed to make Ratatouille, a kind of Berry from the Berry tree is added.
The Berry has a slightly spicy taste, but not too spicy. It is moderate in taste and the taste is relatively good.
It is very suitable as a seasoning for spicy food. After adding the Berry, the taste will be softer.
It is still a very popular berry, but eating too much of this berry may cause Pokémon to run a little lazily and reduce speed.
Therefore, some specific exercises are needed afterwards to make up for the loss in this aspect. However, only one Berry is inserted, so the problem is not big.
"But the lack of thyme is a problem," Taylor looked at his spice cabinet, feeling a little embarrassed.
These seasonings contain everything except thyme, but Taylor likes to add a little thyme to flavor his Ratatouille.
"Forget it," Taylor shook his head and started making Ratatouille.
The tender vegetables simmered, and the rich aroma gradually spread. As Taylor added the processed Berry pulp, the spicy smell in the air became a little lighter.
Soon, a plate of colorful Ratatouille that was fragrant when scooped into the plate was ready. Taylor couldn't help licking his lips when he smelled the fragrance.
Then Taylor prepared the rest of the food and placed it on five plates. He took the food to the cafeteria, and rang the bell.
Casey took her portion first, but before taking it, she scooped a spoonful of Ratatouille.
Soon after, Kuro also flew over, but he didn't scoop up the Ratatouille. He just happily stood on the dining table and ate his fruit salad and Pokémon Food.
Bonk slowly moved over. Taylor glanced at Bonk and saw a trace of blood on Bonk's hand.
This little guy is off to exercise again.
I just don't know if he threw a Rage Fist.
Bonk slowly sat down on the chair and started to eat. Taylor scooped two spoonfuls of Ratatouille for him. Bonk likes spicy food.
Then Puffin came over and rubbed against Taylor happily. Taylor smiled and rubbed Puffin's fat head, and also scooped a spoonful of Ratatouille for it.
Seeing that the little guy had started to eat, Taylor also came to the infirmary with lunch for the Teddiursa.
In the infirmary, there was only the mechanical sound of the treatment cabin dripping, and no other sounds.
A Teddiursa was lying inside.
Taylor sat aside and pressed a button on the medical cabin, which opened automatically. The Teddiursa could now move a little.
But there are still all kinds of tubes inserted into its body, but it has no problem eating.
"Little guy, do you have an appetite?" Taylor asked softly. He had noticed that the eyelids of the Teddiursa moved. The little guy had woken up.
As if hearing Taylor's voice, Teddiursa tried hard to open his eyes.
But the skin on the face of the Teddiursa was also eroded, and the broken wounds covered its eyelids, so that the Teddiursa could only open a tiny gap.
"Hmm," With an almost inaudible sound, Taylor tried to feed the Teddiursa a bite of the special lunch he made.
He made porridge for the Teddiursa. There was no other way. After all, the Teddiursa was too weak and it would be very difficult for it to chew, so it could only eat porridge.
The spoon was brought to Teddiursa's mouth. Maybe because he had been hungry for a long time, he stuck out his tongue and licked the paste on the spoon clean.
Taylor breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as the Teddiursa still has energy to eat, that's enough.
Taylor fed it spoonful by spoonful. Halfway through, the Teddiursa stopped licking and just made a faint humming sound.
Only then did Taylor put away the spoon and closed the door of the medical cabin.
Let the Teddiursa have a good rest.
Erosive skin disease is time-consuming and expensive to treat, but fortunately the medical cabin can solve this problem.
"Little guy, rest well, you will recover," Taylor said softly, then walked out of the infirmary.
Behind him, the little eyes of the Teddiursa looked closely at Taylor's back through its swollen skin.
