Pokemon : Rewind

Richardon's gaze seemed to challenge Charizard—it wanted to face the best version of its opponent. 

Though visibly stronger, the Totem Pokémon's primal instincts sought the thrill of a true test. 

Richardon could sense untapped potential hidden deep within Charizard's fiery spirit—potential the Champion-level Pokémon clearly wanted to draw out. 

Ash smirked, confidence swelling in his chest. "Alright, Richardon… you want to see our true power?! Charizard, let's give it everything we've got!" 

Charizard's eyes sparked with renewed determination, and with a mighty roar, it flapped its wings, soaring high into the sky. 

Its golden tail flame burned brighter than ever, blazing like a torch of untamed fury. 

Richardon's body tensed, its imposing frame radiating enough heat to distort the air around it. 

Without needing a command, it surged forward, launching itself off the ground with surprising speed for its size. 

The battlefield trembled under the force of its movements as it closed the gap between itself and Charizard almost instantly. 

"Be ready, Charizard! Use Thunder Punch!" Ash commanded. 

Charizard's claws crackled with golden electricity, and with all of its might, it swung a charged fist at the charging Richardon. 

The punch connected with Richardon's scaled chest, electricity surging across the massive Pokémon's body in sharp crackles. 

But Richardon barely flinched. Its sheer bulk absorbed the blow effortlessly, and with its eyes blazing, it countered with a devastating swipe of its claws, landing a critical hit. 

The force hurled Charizard backward, crashing heavily into the rocky battlefield. Though bruised and battered, Charizard surged back to its feet, letting out a defiant roar in response to Richardon's overwhelming power. 

"Keep fighting, Charizard! Let's try Smokescreen!" Ash shouted. 

Flapping its wings furiously, Charizard unleashed a thick cloud of black smoke from its mouth, cloaking the battlefield in an impenetrable haze. 

The smoke spread rapidly, shrouding Charizard from view and masking its movements. 

Richardon's glowing crimson eyes darted through the haze, its body tense as it sniffed the air and scanned carefully for any sign of movement. 

Suddenly, with another bellowing growl, it spread its arms wide, unleashing a shockwave of heat that dispersed much of the smoke. 

But it was too late—Ash had planned the next move perfectly. 

"Now, Charizard! Get in close with Fire Fang!" 

Emerging from the remnants of the smoke like a phantom shadow, Charizard charged at Richardon, its fangs glowing with blazing heat. 

With a swift leap, Charizard sunk its burning jaws into Richardon's shoulder, the pressure and heat forcing the Champion-level Pokémon to take a step back. 

Richardon roared in pain, but before it could retaliate, Ash quickly followed up. "Now, Iron Tail!" 

Charizard's tail shimmered with a sharp metallic sheen as it whipped it around, landing a crushing blow against Richardon's side. 

The metallic tail strike made Richardon grunt, forcing its massive body to shift slightly, but its balance returned within seconds. 

Richardon's intimidating growls echoed across the battlefield as it lowered its body, preparing to lunge. 

"Watch out, Charizard—here it comes!" Ash called. 

Richardon was already moving, slamming into Charizard with an earth-shaking Double-Edge. 

The impact sent Charizard hurtling across the battlefield, skidding sideways and crashing into a boulder, which cracked under the force. 

"No! Charizard!" Misty yelled from the sidelines, gripping the edge of the viewing balloon. 

Ash winced but stood firm. "It's okay! Get up, Charizard—I know you can do it!" 

Charizard forced itself to its feet once more, wings outstretched and flames on its tail blazing brighter despite its injuries. Its determined roar was all Ash needed to hear. 

"Alright, let's pick up the pace! Use Air Slash!" 

Charizard flapped its wings, conjuring glowing crescent-shaped blades of air that shot toward Richardon. 

The blades streaked across the battlefield in sharp bursts, causing small explosions of dust and debris as they grazed Richardon's armor-like scales. 

Richardon let out a snarl, tanking the blows with visible irritation. Then, with startling reflexes, it slammed one of its massive claws into the ground, shaking the battlefield and sending Charizard off balance. 

The enormous Pokémon inhaled deeply, building swirling purple energy in its mouth before unleashing a devastating Dragon Pulse. 

"Charizard, use Protect!" Ash commanded. 

The translucent green shield materialized in the nick of time, deflecting the massive Dragon Pulse but not without resistance. 

The sheer power of the attack caused the protective barrier to shudder violently before shattering, but it gave Charizard just enough time to dodge to the side before sustaining further damage. 

"Charizard—don't give it a chance to recover! Use Slash, then pull back and hit it with a Flamethrower!" Ash continued. 

Charizard streaked forward, claws glowing as it delivered a precise Slash across Richardon's chest. 

The Champion-level Pokémon snarled, shaking its massive body as if to brush off the blow. 

But Charizard was already moving, leaping backward into the air and firing an intense stream of Flamethrower directly at Richardon's face. 

While the fiery torrent didn't appear to do any severe visible damage, the move caused Richardon to roar again in frustration, its scales glimmering with heat from the attack. 

"That's it!" Ash cheered. "Keep up the momentum, Charizard!" 

"He is using Overheat". Liza said she had seen this a lot of times when he taught it to other strong Charizards.

Richardon's scales began glowing molten red as it unleashed a catastrophic wave of white-hot flames. 

The blast spread in all directions, devouring any nearby obstacles as it surged toward Charizard like an unstoppable tidal wave. 

"Charizard, block it with Protect!" Ash shouted desperately. 

Charizard crossed its claws, summoning its protective energy field again. The translucent dome deflected much of Richardon's Overheat, though the sheer magnitude of the blast caused cracks to splinter through the shield. 

As the flames finally died down, Charizard remained standing—but its breaths were now heavier, its stamina beginning to wane. 

Even with its power temporarily weakened from Overheat, Richardon stood tall and defiant, its glowing eyes locked with Charizard's fiery determination. 

Ash gritted his teeth, realizing pure power wouldn't be enough to take Richardon down. He had to use everything Charizard had learned to this point—every ounce of speed, skill, and resilience.

"Charizard, let's do this!" Ash exclaimed. "Close in with Iron Tail, then follow up with Thunder Punch!" 

Charizard roared in acknowledgment and darted forward, tail shimmering once more. Bounding up into the air, it flipped its body mid-flight, smashing its tail downward toward Richardon.

The massive Totem Pokémon raised its arm just in time, blocking the blow with its hardened scales. 

Before Richardon could counterattack, Charizard followed up with a devastating Thunder Punch, driving the electric charge directly into Richardon's chest. 

Sparks flew across Richardon's body, the intense shock unsettling it momentarily as it stumbled backward. 

"So, you want to see it?" Ash said quietly, meeting Richardon's gaze. After a moment of consideration, he nodded. "Alright, we'll show you. Charizard, let's give it everything we've got!"

Charizard's eyes burned with determination as it soared into the sky once more, its golden tail flame blazing brighter than ever.

"Golden Flame Cannon!" Ash shouted, raising his hand in command.

Charizard roared, gathering its energy. The air around it shimmered with heat as the power of the sun god began to coalesce. 

A massive sphere of golden fire formed in front of Charizard, pulsing with incredible energy.

"This is it," Ash murmured. "The power of the Three Legendary Gods will light up this battlefield once again."
