Pokemon: Rising From The Dark

Chapter 161: Preparing to Create the Lake

In the evening, Miyamoto and the others who went out also came back.

They briefly reported to Aoki about the progress of their tasks that day.

Almost everyone had already registered as a hunter with the Hunter Guild, and they could officially join once Aoki established a hunting group.

The recruitment for Team Sky was gradually getting on track. The main targets for recruitment were still children from impoverished backgrounds or orphans.

These children wanted to become Trainers but lacked the opportunity or resources.

In the Kanto and Johto regions, there were still chances to join Team Rocket. As long as one could survive the trials, they could become a Trainer. Although being a part of Team Rocket had its risks, it was still a better life than the one they had known in poverty.

In the Hoenn region, similar organizations existed, but their standards for recruitment were much stricter.

Verdanturf Town, however, had no such organizations at all.

The former Black Snake Gang couldn't even afford basic living expenses, let alone support impoverished children or orphans.

But Aoki was different. While establishing Team Sky, he directly invested millions of Pokecoins, primarily to purchase Pokemon to enhance the combat effectiveness of each member and to provide Pokemon for new recruits.

Of course, Aoki had also implemented a structured system in Team Sky's management. Only those who passed the real assessments could become full members, while the rest were considered reserves.

The former members of the Black Snake Gang who had joined Team Sky were still in the reserve category.

Newly recruited individuals were primarily treated as external staff. Only after passing certain assessments would they become peripheral members, and after another period of evaluation, they could become full members.

However, the assessment process was not as harsh or brutal as Team Rocket's. The primary focus was on loyalty.

Aoki's main requirement for peripheral members was a test of loyalty.

For full membership, a certain level of strength was required.

At minimum, they needed to match the battle capabilities of a standard Team Rocket member.

Aoki delegated these responsibilities to Skye, Acrylic, and Miyamoto.

The three-man management team ensured checks and balances, preventing any one person from gaining excessive power and posing a threat to Aoki's leadership.

Aoki trusted Skye's loyalty the most and had him take on more of a supervisory role.

Only a day had passed, and Team Sky still had just seven full members, including Aoki himself.

As for the reserves, there were thirteen individuals, all remnants of the Black Snake Gang and Vipers.

Eight new recruits had joined as external staff that day. They had not been assigned Pokemon yet, but accommodations and food had been provided for them to ensure their stability.

Aoki handed over the Wurmple caught that day to the three leaders, instructing them to assign these Pokemon to the newcomers.

The value of Wurmple was not high, and their potential was relatively similar, but their growth rate was fast. As long as they were well-fed, they could evolve into Beautifly within a few weeks and gain some initial combat capabilities.

Additionally, once a large number of Beautifly appeared and their numbers reached a certain level, their collective combat effectiveness would be significant.

At that point, someone would need to educate the recruits about Pokemon knowledge and how to utilize Beautifly in battle while instilling loyalty to Aoki and Team Sky. This way, the team would soon have a foundation of basic members.

When the number of basic members increased, some outstanding individuals would naturally emerge. They would be selected and promoted, gradually strengthening the overall system of Team Sky.

With the successful structure of Team Rocket as a reference, Team Sky's system required little further consideration.

Moreover, the key managers were all former members of Team Rocket.

They were already familiar with that kind of system.

Aoki then distributed some stronger but average-quality Beautifly to the three leaders, instructing them to allocate these Pokemon to assess the combat abilities of the Black Snake Gang members. Anyone who showed potential and loyalty to Team Sky would receive a Beautifly.

Once their loyalty was verified and their strength met the standards, they could become the first wave of full-fledged members of Team Sky.

However, how far they could rise in the ranks depended on their potential.

After a brief meeting, Aoki assigned the next set of tasks, and the group dispersed.

The performance and loyalty of those who had followed him from Trial Island were satisfactory. If the opportunity arose, Aoki would help them grow stronger.

Their current strength was enough to manage a group that wasn't even third-rate, but after some time, it would no longer be sufficient. By then, they would need to improve.

By the end of the day, Team Sky consisted of one leader, six full members, thirteen reserves, and eight external staff.

Returning to his room, Aoki took out his Pokeblock-making tools.

Aron's Pokeblock formula needed improvement, and the young Absol also required a special Pokeblock to enhance its physique.

At the same time, the Pokemon needed to process the gains from the day's battles.

In the backyard, Tropius lay on the roof, keeping watch over the surroundings. He did not participate in battles or training; his usual task was surveillance.

Tropius' role had diminished somewhat. His current task, assigned by Aoki, was to continue expanding the pond. Fortunately, with the addition of the Slowpoke group, the project had accelerated significantly.

Aoki scanned the Slowpoke using his system. Likely due to the presence of the Sharpedo group, weaker and lower-quality Slowpoke had already been eliminated. Now, the lowest-ranked Slowpoke in the group had deep yellow potential, while the highest reached green.

Some Slowpoke were already at decent levels. With just a few more levels and the help of a Shellder, they could evolve into Slowbro.

Aoki planned to construct a lake where the Slowpoke could serve as guardians, protecting the lake and its wild Water-type Pokemon.

Soon, Aoki completed the recovery Pokeblock for the young Absol.

The Shiny Absol consumed it for the first time, falling into a peaceful sleep under the watchful, grateful eyes of its mother.

With continuous use of the Pokeblock, the Shiny Absol would make a full recovery.

In time, the mountainous region behind Aoki's base would gain another guardian.
